When did the Daily Paul become a Christian extremist website?

What is going on? This is pathetic. Christian extremists don't give a damn about liberty for those that disagree with them. They routinely fight to strip individuals of their rights. They prance around declaring that non-believers are going to "hell" and warning the heathens are under the influence of "Satan". Why are they involved in the Liberty movement? Because they need to weaken the local and federal governments so they can push their creation myth on EVERYONE. Look out Liberty Movement. They are using you/us......

History has shown different

History has shown different with each and every of the "organized religions". I believe you may have a chance of being right if your relationship was truly between you and Jesus alone and unmolested but, once an organization or even a "leader" of any kind comes between you and your noble god, corruption has been assured throughout human existence. My morale here, Spirituality good, Religion bad.

“Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian.” ― Henry Ford.

I totally agree with you,

it's the various religous doctrines, that cause people to be turned off to Christianity. It began with the Roman creation of the Catholic Church, which actually took Christianity and combined it with many different beliefs to lure them under their control. Then Luther created his control doctrine, that led to the Anglican doctrine making the King head of its church. In reality the only popular named group not really following a doctrine was the Puritans. Of course, the other doctrines twisted, spun, and revised the historical count about them making them out to be extreme fundementalist, which they really were a complete opposite. In fact, if it wasn't for the Puritans push to make our government with a separation of powers, and were very involved with the Bill of Rights. If the people who tend to oppose Christianity take a look at the rest of the Western civilization where Christianity is fading, they are all Socialist controlled governments and the majority of the populace are serfs.

Well in the end I don't think

Well in the end I don't think we are going to see any texas style mega-church goers show up here for their salvation in freedom from the government of the their pastor and the folks he works for but, you never know. I hope the one's that enjoy the community of these institutions and do visit this site understand this argument is not about their faith in God but their faith in the institutions that usurp god by their very existence. They should never demand your faith or service through their doctrine and spokespersons. They are to be watched.

yeah, for Christians,

everyone else goes to hell. Lots of liberty in that :)

you say that, not me

I Have No Place/Authority To Judge Anyone Else And Whether Or Not They Go To Heaven Or Not.

This site is nothing BUT "extremists"....

... at least if we believe all of mainstream's labeling of the liberty community.

I don't think many people here will take kindly to you endorsing the mainstream term so haphazardly.

"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." -- James Madison

Clearly a Troll

You know he is a troll by his use of the word 'extremist'. Dr. Paul is a Christian. There is clearly a place for religion in a free society. Faith based groups provided for the welfare of the people before the communists destroyed America and installed their welfare system. Religion and Liberty are indispensable which is why the elite hate religion and push Atheism in the controlled media.

I'm areligious

What's so extreme about Freedom? As long as people are tolerant I have no problem with what they practice. True a lot of intolerance comes from religion which really turns alot of folks off.

for the record my Dad was a baptist minister with majors in history and religion

Government is supposed to protect our freedom, our property, our privacy, not invade it. Ron Paul 2007

Intolerance comes

from people, not a religion.

[Guns don't kill, People do.]

frank off, you've been here

frank off, you've been here for 2 months. what gives you the right to ask that question?
Evidently you would not know what the daily paul is or was since you have not been around long enough to ask the question. You are probably one of Obama's 3500 paid whores who screw with Liberty websites. If you really knew Ron Paul you would know that Ron himself is a devout Christian.

You lost.

I'll ask whatever I want.

and I did. Tenure here on the DP should mean NOTHING. Even a wild eyed Jesus freak extremist can hang around a website for years. It means nothing. Bible thumpers are destroying the Liberty Movement. I'm allowed to have that opinion and express it. God bless America.

Is your freakdom better

than mine?

Jesus freak?? You must have grown up in the 70's.

Maybe you should make a call to Fatherland Security?

This could be just what Janetski Napolitanokof has been gearing up for!

What year do all the athiest think it is?

If any Christianity haters say 2013, then they are a hypocrite. It's really 2013 A.D., which means that their measure of time directly relates to Jesus Christ. If atheist don't believe in Jesus, yet admit the year is 2013 then they're directly contradicting themselves. PERIOD!

Take your pick.

BCE = Before Common Era
CE - Common Era, Current Era, or Christian Era

that is just about the DUMBEST thing I have ever read.

Congratulations! That is very impressive with all the trolls here.

so what do you believe AD

so what do you believe AD stands for?

Wow, what an irrelevant,

Wow, what an irrelevant, logical fallacy.

Christianity and its sheep

Christianity and its sheep are partly responsible for the decline of the Republican party. We are well pass the Age of Reason yet these people lobby for archaic religious laws every day! They make every election come down to really trivial issues like gay marriage and abortion as our country is robbed of our rights and wealth.

All the same problems fledgling secular democracies in the middle east face fighting Islam we fight here against Christianity on a lesser scale.

"Religious law" is the antithesis to law based off logic and reason.

If you think our rights are "god given" instead of innate you are just as disillusioned, if not more so, than the average statist.

As far as gay marriage goes,

I think I speak for the vast majority of liberty-loving Christians when I say it is morally wrong, but the government needs to not be involved in marriage at all. There's no justification for arresting gays, laws against it are unenforceable, and marriage needs to be left to the church and private citizens. Marriage licenses are a fossil left over from segregation and Jim Crow.

Abortion is a different matter entirely - that is NOT a religious issue, it's a liberty issue. Do we or do we not have the right to life? That's what it comes down to. It's not atheist vs. Christian there - it's right-to-life vs. no-right-to-life.

Congrats on desiring to kick Ron Paul out of the movement he inspired, by the way.

You refer to FALSE Christians as (true) Christians

You have no ability to discern the two yet a simple reading of scripture would allow for this rudimentary classification.

The "so-called christians" that you blame act more like the Pharisees, Sadducees and money changers who were reprimanded by Christ; the very ones who crucified Him on the cross for calling them out in public.

Yet you blame Christ and real Christians for these too.

Wait a minute

You wrote:

The bible says Jesus Christ was nailed to a tree and since Christians believe that the bible is the inerrant word of skyguy, Christians are supposed to believe that. Why do you think Jesus Christ was nailed to a cross?

But there have also been a number of post lately calling them out or acknowledging them as you have.. I don't really sit on either side of this issue although I do think people have the right to talk about any subject they wish. I do not like it when people are told their beliefs are wrong when the aggressor does not even really know the person. Ironically, you accuse 'them' of stripping people's rights in a post that is trying to strip one's rights.

But the lips of knowledge are a more precious thing.

For the same reasons I am for Ron Paul, I am a Christian

In Politics

In politics if you have three or more choices, right vs left, etc and only one choice is not taking money from special interests or allowing lobbyists into his office... well then it is easy to see (if you know this information in advance) who the best choice is. Regardless of political views or persuasion the guy who is not being bribed by lobbyists and special interests (Ron Paul) makes the most sense because you can actually trust him to do the right things and not lie to your face while voting with his $$$.

In Religion

It is the same. There are a lot of liars on the take who are in it only for their own personal gain and benefit. In 2 Peter 2 they are called false teachers and false prophets. The Pharisees and Sadducees were such as these, allowing money changers into the temple no less, making the sacrifices filthy and of no value. And yet if you do not read your bible and seek the Father for yourself, chances are you view this deb-ochery as representative of Christianity and even mistakenly associate it to Christ himself.

The dailypaul

Here at the DP we have many still, especially as of late who blame Ron and Rand Paul for what the rest of congress does. The same falsely put Christ in league with George Bush, Carl Rove, the pope, and Benny Hin.

This is sheer ignorance.

Yet those who have never sought God through the bible are prone to throw the baby out with the bath water. They can not discern right from wrong. Nor do they care to do it.

They are righteous in their own eyes while the rest of us are thankful we can see.

Beat it Christians

Don't come here mixing Christian fairytales with politics.

go jump in a lake.

The Liberty Movement

Would be dead in its tracks if it was not for faith.

Are all God fearing men whether you like/agree with them or not.

I yet to see any notable atheist carry the torch of liberty at the extent of these men. Just calling a spade a spade, Mr. Sensitive. Down vote, kick scream and yell, faith in Jesus Christ will be in this Revolution just like the air we breathe will.

"To achieve liberty and peace, two powerful human emotions have to be overcome. Number one is “envy” which leads to hate and class warfare. Number two is “intolerance” which leads to bigoted and judgmental policies. These emotions must be replaced with a much better understanding of love, compassion, tolerance and free market economics. Freedom, when understood, brings people together. When tried, freedom is popular."

Has anyone

Has anyone ever confronted the folks you mentioned and asked them what evidence do they have for their "beliefs?" I'll bet that none has ever done any introspection in that regard, or perhaps it is simply easier to pretend that you believe in something just to "get along" rather than risk alienating all of the sincere "believers" who are clueless.

Unless you know from where those individuals are coming, it is invalid to cite them as examples.

And the mbennett

rears his head with a sliced tongue. Would not be a fine day on the DP without the dastardliness of mbennett trying to divide individuals.
