my understanding that it still must be approved by 2/3 of the Senate, correct?

Anyway, according to Reid vs. Covert, the Constitution supersedes international treaties...not to mention that according to Marbury vs. Madison, all laws repugnant to the Constitution are null and void (should the traitors in the Senate give that 2/3 vote)...

You are correct

Right now the Constitution has a thin majority in the senate.

The Constitution is suppose to be the supreme law & supersede everything. You probably know how that's working out.
