NH recount

They have not counted anything since Friday. I guess it will start again tomorrow. Official results so far here:

The cover story in The New York Times Magazine on Sunday, January 6, made plain the threat: The winner of the 2008 presidential election could be decided by flawed, insecure, and hackable electronic voting machines.

Congress is poised to consider a new emergency paper ballots bill next week—but we'll have to convince them to act right away.

The slowdown is a result of a 3-day weekend. Also, previous totals were for the Democrat recount, with Republican write-ins. From an E-mail I received this morning it looks like the action begins tomorrow at 9:30 am.

Here is the text of the latest from New Hampshire:

Finally, the big day is almost upon us and what a long road we seem to have travelled in such a short time to get here!

The people have spoken, no, they have screamed for justice and this is what, we hope , they will get.

But we need more volunteers to observe and video the recount.

We must be 100% certain that this recount is carried out both fairly and in open public view. Without your help this cannot be guaranteed. With your help we can ensure that the recount is performed correctly or catch anybody not behaving properly in the act in a permanent record.

We are trying to organise accommodation and travel expenses for volunteers but in the absence of donations (we think that people are donating hard enough already to many good causes which is why we have not set up a donation fund) we are asking people in the New Hampshire if they can offer accommodation. We appreciate that this leaves volunteers with their travelling expenses to cover, but we trust that it will be worth it!

If you are planning on attending the recount, please let us know IMMEDIATELY as we must organise having you “sworn in” as a member of Albert Howard’s staff so as to guarantee you full and unfettered access to the process.

We hope that you can help with this effort. Please do all that you can.
