It is a sweet video

and that is the way I raised my kids, little did I know what the hell was going on in the world around me.

If I had to do over I probably wouldn't have had children, what an awful situation to be in, innocent and naive not traits that serve you when your fighting for your survival. IMO

Nice, not really my favorite though.

I am not sure why we cannot celebrate the beauty of every stage of life. Sure, children have a type of innocence and wonder that we all would benefit from nurturing all the way to our grave. But his comment the older people have a "function" somehow offends.... Our elders are a treasure, and they deserve cherished as much as a child. Heck, even us plain-Jane "adults" are miraculous...
I think I would have liked this a lot more if Watts had focused on the inner child we all have. The wisest elders are the ones who temper their experience with the wonder of a child. They do not learn from children, they are continually living with the child they were when they began their own journey.
(And if collecting pebbles makes you wise I ought to be Solomon... lol!)
The scenery is lovely, and BIG BUMP for positive messages. But I have been watching this society prepare to start killing old people, and have become hypersensitive to attitudes that prop up the notion that old people are not much use.
Do you know why Cuba did not fail when the Soviet Union did? The government went to the OLD FARMERS and asked them to save the country, and they did. For all the poetry, even the vegetables do not really "just grow." It takes someone with the wisdom to plant them when and where they will grow.

Love or fear? Chose again with every breath.

Don't play the power game ?

Seems hard to go along with, considering people who have completely bought in to the power game are the ones that kill those who get in their way.

This video makes me think the right move is to focus on simple things, personal health, sustainable , low impact living, building communities, self sufficiency (no those two are not exclusive). On the other hand, I see time and time again the power brokers crush these ideals, and people. Sometimes I think the Viking ethic is a better approach, where courage and audacity and aggressiveness are highly valued.

Thinking about these alternatives is good, but I haven't come to a final conclusion - probably never will.

I do love these videos though.

Emotionally uplifting!

I really enjoyed it on emotional level. This video is great because it has such an awesome presentation that connects with most of us. The same emotional package (music, scenery, accent, quote from a genious), however, usually leave me in a sort of national geographic humility stupor rather than mental clarity beyond lament.

Bump, for emotional recharge we all need. But since free society is about reason rather than emotions and cold justice rather than warm fairness, keep in mind that the same videos are used by socialist-progressive "humanists" and their modern variants as well.

eh...

Good points about the young.
Good points about the old.
Good points about vegetables

Remember the small stuff. Enjoy life. That's what this video means.

I will not take it further than that.

Having children will help you remember the small things while kicking ass at the adult game.

The things you can gain from working hard (adult life), are indeed worth having. The video is wrong on that point.

Good vid, good convo! Thanks T&H

Dear tragedyandhope. Thank you.

I want to say thank you for these videos, and to tell you a story.

I have a friend here in Boston. He knows what I do, but he's not, and has never been a Ron Paul supporter. he's my football buddy. On autumn Sundays, we go to the bar, drink beer, eat burgers, and watch the NFL. That is something I enjoy doing, and he is someone I enjoy doing it with.

Superficially, he likes Obama, but he doesn't pay as much attention to politics as he does to his beloved football team. The time he devotes to that is as much as others here devote to activism.

He's been struggling with work. He hates what he does, but like many, he feels trapped. One day he shows me this video he found, that he thinks is great. And it is one of your Alan Watts videos: What if Money Was No Object:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siu6JYqOZ0g&feature=youtu.be

I thought that was awesome. And I thought it was awesome to see that it had 1.5 million views at the time. Now up to 1.9 million!

I told him I knew you from the Daily Paul. He was shocked and surprised. It wasn't his idea of what a Ron Paul supporter was. But he was inspired by the video, and he was inspired by others of yours.

I just wanted you to know that, and to say thank you for what you do, and that you inspire people in ways that you will never know.

Thanks Michael

Saw your name, read the notes.

Now this video from Alan nailed it...truly. Hope your buddy gets it worked out. If he does, sign a dailypaul t-shirt for him. Priceless.

Wonderful as always!

Are any of your videos available in a non-youtube format online? I just recently found out that my friends in Bangladesh don't get youtube! Yeah, ridiculous! They get facebook, twitter, but no youtube?

Amazing!
