You are right about the war,

You are right about the war, English is my second language, in my native language they have the same name.

Why do we have a drivers licence? if we were to remove it do you think there would still be the same amount of accidents? A license purpose is not to generate money for the state, it's to reduce the amount of accidents, it's just to teach people how to handle whatever the licence is for. The gun safe is mainly to keep it from minors or from being stolen by burglars when you are not at home. Also there is nothing stopping you from keeping the gun under your pillow even if you have a safe.

I was unsure where I stood on the issue in the first place also I was not speaking about the USA specifically until paragraph 4. My conclusion was that USA should not use it. Why? you might ask, because they have created people like you who don't have any trust in their government. Government must build up that trust before they can do anything like that or they will further increase the risk of a revolutionary war (thanks for that correction btw).

Lastly I define government transparency as allowing everyone to see what they are doing, and they are terrible at doing that

There are people born and raised in the United States who confuse the civil war with the revolutionary war.

If there were no licenses, there would be just as many accidents. A license doesn't prevent one from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Here in the US, a license for anything is a revenue generator, it's not a teaching tool.

My children were not permitted to enter the room where I kept firearms without my permission. You have to teach your children, and when they are old enough, you teach them about guns and gun safety. If I'm going to keep my gun under my pillow or in the nightstand, why would I need a gun safe?

Our founding fathers didn't trust government, we come by our distrust naturally. The second amendment was written into the Constitution not for self protection and hunting, it was a safeguard against a tyrannical government. They understood men aren't angels. If you haven't already, read our Declaration of Independence:

"That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. was caught with its pants down running guns to drug cartels in Mexico in Operation Fast and Furious, 20,000 people lost their lives. The United States government was caught with its pants down running guns from Benghazi through Turkey to Syria, an ambassador and 3 CIA agents lost their lives.

You still trust the United States government when it comes to regulating gun purchases by law abiding citizens in the United States?

Anyway please read the last two paragraphs. Regarding licence I was referring to local authorities not the government, also I was not speaking about US at first. Just because you have a licence doesn't mean you have to own a gun and I don't want registry of gun ownership.

I'm my eyes guns are not your average playthings, it's a tool that needs to be handled with care because if you are careless accidents are more likely to occur.

I agree, most felons are nonviolent offenders, which is exactly the point I am getting at. The felons which are not in prison generally do not threaten society and should be allowed to own firearms. The felons who are out of prison and are threats to society probably should not have been allowed out to begin with. The argument that "we need to conduct background checks on everyone so a felon doesn't get a gun" are complete BS. Its just an emotional ploy to sucker people into supporting background checks.

I loved watching Larry get up into this punks face and telling him he did not trust Matthews. I concur with him on that one. Everyone wants to say that we will oppose people with mental disabilities to have guns but what happens when the next step is that you have to go to a government mental health worker and get cleared from him before you can have a gun.

I can see how it would cause many to avoid even getting a gun because no one wants to be deemed "crazy." It is a slippery slope when you start saying that we will take the rights of these individuals away because of the children. How about us arming everyone? I think that would make for a much more polite community to live in.
