Cafe that kicked police officer out gets booming business

News from 2010.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The co-owner of a Portland vegan restaurant who asked a police officer to leave says the move has been good for business.

John Langley told The Oregonian business nearly doubled over the weekend after the story made national news.

He also says his restaurant received five threats of arson or other violence and some outrage over his treatment of the officer. Langley says he doesn't expect any vandalism from the police supporters.

Officer James Crooker had stopped to buy a quick coffee on May 18 and was talking with a customer when Langley asked him to leave because of his uniform. Langley told a news conference Monday it was not personal. Officers are welcome in street clothes.

Of course not. That will come from the officers themselves.

I always wondered how this cafe was doing.

It's a strange reaction. I

It's a strange reaction. I don't know how I feel about it but I know I wish they'd do the same with military uniforms and garb walking around our stores. It feels like we're under seige.

I for one

do not feel comfortable around peace officers... who usually act as mercenaries. They are trained to butt into your business and find things to charge people with. If I ever see peace officers in a store somewhere I take my business elsewhere.

All of these peace officers who are supporting unconstitutional laws such as, for example - EVERY drug law... are the domestic enemies that our founders warned us about.

Truth is treason in an empire of lies. If there's any public official out there who would like to refer to the section of the constitution that grants these powers to government, I'm still waiting for someone to answer that question.

Instead they will just slink and slither and lie and wait and POUNCE when you least expect it. That's what they do when even their crooked statutes won't give them the proper excuse to put you away.

There are definite exceptions

but they are difficult (if not impossible) to discern - because you'd have to engage with them, which is the LAST thing you should do. Sheriffs tend to be better, but much depends on the leadership and the culture in the county.
