The general gist of the article is decent, but still loaded with unforgivable nonsense that bolsters myths of conventional tyranny (often confused for conventional wisdom). To wit, at various points it equates drug dealers with "bad guys" without objection, when in fact drug dealers are victims of bad law to begin with.

In truth, I can think of nobody who can more legitimately claim the need for a gun than a drug dealer. This is precisely because he has to contend both with government and private entities who envy and aggress against the private property he has in his possession, which nobody can rightfully claim they can seize from him, irrespective of what passes as law today.

I think articles like this distract from considering this point of view, and instead serve as precisely the type of dangerous Hegelian dialectic that leads to bolster the myths (drug dealers are felons who shouldn't have guns!) and otherwise allow for compromise (you can have guns, as long as you're not a drug dealer; we have to do background checks; etc etc).

And these days, more than ever, rights are like walls where compromising only and always brings them ever closer in on us.

Indeed, the war on drugs is every bit the assault on liberty that the war on gun rights is. Would that people defended against the former as vigorously as the latter, articles like this wouldn't be heralded for the apparently pro-gun-rights rhetoric; they would be criticized for their cowardice in acquiescing to conventional and tyrannical myths about what few rights we have to defend with those guns.
