Dr. Paul is looking forward to a brokered convention

It would be too easy for McCain to agree to a one-term presidency with Romney as VP. So I'm not sure a brokered convention is such a wonderful thing. We really should try to get 51% before we get there.

The one good factor I can think of in a brokered convention, is that by the time that happens Ron Paul will have better name recognition (the MSM probably will drop the blackout if he starts winning states) and there will be a lot of polling data on the various R candidate vs Hillary. And by that time I think Ron Paul will be a standout (due to Independent and Democrat support), and Hillary will poll as beating all the rest. If that is so it will be potent ammunition to convince delegates to get behind Paul, since if there is anything R's want it is to beat Hillary.

But definitely, there are a lot of "ifs" there. It's way better if we can get 51% beforehand. It is possible. McCain still is short of money I think. Huck (pretty much) and Thompson are out so their supporters are again in play, we should court them. Romney will be the tough nut to crack.

A brokered convention will only help Paul if here is gridlock between the other candidates. I can't remember which one it was, but there was a convention where the majority candidates couldn't win and eventually a minority candidate ended up with the nomination. I don't think this would happen this time because the others are so similar they would have no problem compromising and nominating one of their own. For instance, I don't see how there could be a deal breaker issue between McCain and Romney since they agree on everything. Supporters of one will support the other at the drop of a hat.

I can't think of a better reason to eliminate the FED than today. The markets have not reacted WELL to another huge rate cut, so the FED's effectiveness is definitely now being called into question...

I believe we have bottomed TODAY with the S&P500 touching down at 20%. I also believe we are not in a recession. We have never had a recession when the rates are as low as they are.

However, Dr. Paul, whether the Media wants to admit it or not, has been THE LEADER of all the Republicans & Democrats. WHY? Because literally ALL of them are following his lead, from imitating him about the "Founding Fathers" and the Constitution....to the talk and concerns about the Stock Market and the Economy.

It has been RON PAUL who has been talking about all of this.

TODAY lends even more credence to his platform, more than ever before. Still, the NEOCON's and GLOBALISTS see him as a MAJOR threat. The politicians are torn between what they know he's saying is TRUE and the GLOBALISTS themselves.

It will be interesting if any major Congressman or Senator begins to endorse Ron Paul now, to take that chance, or if for no other reason than to just plain DO THE RIGHT THING. We shall see.

....you NOW know why so many people have been bitching about the "official" campaign's strategy (or lack thereof).

The Ron Paul message needs to be IN FRONT of the pack, not tailing along like the smallest wagon in the travelling road show that is the primary season. We need to be in states SUPPORTIVE and OPEN to our message. We need to have INNOVATIVE, UNIQUE, ORIGINAL ads that stand out as something DIFFERENT. We need to financially support GRASSROOTS, LOCAL efforts.

Don't get your hopes up. Romney is playing the delegate game to perfection. Giuliani's entire strategy is based on this knowledge. Ron Paul's campaign needs to take a chance at WINNING, not playing the game well.

This is big. Why do you think the campaign has been asking us to become delagates?? Ron knows that there is no clear front runner for the GOP nomination, and will not be come convention time. A brokered convention only works to Ron's advantage. The political elite and MSM know this, that is why they are trying to silence Ron and his supporters.
Ron could very well steal the nomination.

Can someone explain in more detail what a Brokered Convention means and will this convention definately be Brokered and why?

This is what it is all for people!! This is why we need to keep on keepin' on. The power elite think we will get dejected and slink off to a corner and sulk. 'Have to admit I got led astray after New Hampshire as well. We had such high hopes only to be ignored and jeered at by MSM. If we can keep the fight going through February primaries we CAN and WILL make it to the convention!!
Once in Minneapolis on Sept. 1, by Republican Party rules, he will HAVE to be given equal time, speech and otherwise. Can you imagine the whole Nation listening to him speak. It will be like a revalation to those who have not even been given a 20 second blurb of Dr. Paul on MSM. Is'nt that pretty damming to them, when everyone will say "Where has this guy been? Why have'nt you guys told us about him?"
It will be great. Up against whichever two lug heads that are left, Ron Paul will outshine them both with his wisdom and charm. Lets keep it going folks. Now is not the time to even slow down. Crank up efforts in YOUR PRECINCT! That is the best thing we can do now.

but uh - what happens exactly if they go into a brokered convention? How do they decide the ultimate outcome?

The trajectory is great, and he won't give in to party pressure to quit, and as long as we send him money, this race goes to convention. We know he grabbed a bunch of county delegates in Nevada, and they'll be going to the state convention.

Tell everyone you know, especially in states that apportion their delegates (i.e., not winer-take-all), that no vote will be wasted if it means it helps him get delegates. He doesn't have to win outright each time, he just needs to increase his delegate count, and win them over at convention (many delegates may represent candidates who have dropped out already).
