Popular dietary supplement targeted as “New Culprit” in heart diseaseSubmitted by Asclepius on Wed, 04/10/2013 - 10:27
Why has this news story received wide play in the media this week? Three reasons: First, it temporarily reduces the guilt by the medical establishment in propagandizing the myth that saturated fats and cholesterol are intrinsically bad for us. Second, it shifts the blame to a widely consumed OTC dietary health supplement that is 1 of the Top 10 Weight Loss Supplements on the market. Third, it completely ignores the important role of environmental toxins (e.g. dioxins), growth hormones, antibiotic resistant bacteria; GMO derived animal feed, low ratio of omega3/omega6 fats, and the long list of other documented adverse health risks associated with eating radically unnatural meats produced by Big Agro. Furthermore, these 3 reasons complement one another to strengthen the profit margin of the big agro/medical establishment while simultaneously giving the alternative health market a black eye.
As one heart researcher was quoted in the NYT article as saying, "It’s really a beautiful combination of mouse studies and human studies to tell a story I find quite plausible” Yes, this story will be spun into a new propaganda masterpiece by the Corporatocracy!
