We will eventually end political hypocrisy with better election technology, but how soon?Submitted by mdowney84 on Wed, 04/10/2013 - 17:36
Elections have become completely insane and no US politicians today are intelligent or honest enough to tell the public that basic election information technology would revolutionize our election process for the better.
Imagine a website where you could learn about, interact with, and share your opinion on ALL of your candidates on a single page. Wouldn't all of you reading this use that website?
This p2p comprehensive candidate directory would reduce the US public's dependency on TV for primary election information, and would help candidates (especially low-budget, independent candidates) raise awareness for themselves outside of the MSM.
This same technology would also make it easier than ever for Americans to track if ALL of their elected officials actually lived up to their campaign promises, and make it as easy as possible for Americans to contact/put pressure on officials if they don't.
It is a tragedy that no major public figures are focusing on solving this problem in the US today. The saddest thing is this technology could have been perfected 8 years ago, but we are STILL waiting for it today. Hopefully more Americans will wake up before 2013 ends.
Thanks for reading my rant DailyPaul members! I'd really appreciate your questions and honest feedback on these ideas. EveryVote.org is just a student and volunteer-driven project right now, but if you would be interested in helping or just learning more, please let me know.
