Reality Check: Should Libertarians be PRO or ANTI "gun control?"Submitted by vinceableworld on Thu, 04/11/2013 - 09:13
The declaration of independence states that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. Among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The right to exist is clearly stated in the 2nd amendment. The people have the right - the pre-existing right - to bear arms.
After the declaration of independence a constitution was created. Anyone wanting to be a PUBLIC SERVANT had to take an oath (enter into a contract) to obey the rules laid out in the constitution. Nowhere in the constitution does it outline any rules for the PEOPLE.
At what point did "we the people" contract to obey statutes and acts? The FACTS is that congress can ONLY PASS RULES FOR GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES. A US citizen is a GovCorp Inc EMPLOYEE. "Gun control" could be a very good thing if people would just wake up to the reality of our 2nd amendment guarantee which is in NO DANGER OF EVER BEING REPEALED BY LAW.
I full support "gun control" and believe there should be strict regulations on PUBLIC SERVANTS that carry a gun while on-duty.
