Got Ritalin? Your 2nd Amendment rights are gone before you ever hit your teens in new Senate gun control legislation

So were you ever given Ritalin, Zyprexa or ADD drugs? If the Senate bill passes you will automatically be banned from owning a gun. What better way to slowly but surely remove the experience of owning a gun within the United States, which then leads to eventually nobody caring if their 2nd amendment rights are taken or not.

According to RedState, the new bill has the ability for a Doctor to put you on the no sell list, even without your knowledge. If you are denied, it would be a lengthy your guilty until proven innocent process to get your rights back.

Good!!!!

Only a few would debate whether those aforementioned prescribed medications are dangerous. Combine those drugs with the crazies that take them and what do you get- potential mass murderers or suiciders.

It seems that all of the big killings that have occurred over the years have been by those idiots on the drugs.

If you're on prescribed or mandated "mood altering" drugs- you shouldn't own or have guns and neither should anyone in your house!

I think the only person here that needs those drugs is that ad of the old man carrying the shotgun rested on his shoulder that reads, "37 things you must hoard". He looks like the kind of zombie that would shoot you in the back once you turn around at his road-block.

The security of a free state in jeopardized by those that take those drugs.

With all due respect

You are wrong and you do not know what you are talking about.

This could be a problem

How will they explain this when there are people in law enforcement on these medications? Some take Wellbutrin to quit smoking or adderall for ADHD. I have taken both and have 14 years of good decisions under pressure.

It always starts with a short list of people, but media hysteria will cause that list of people to grow over time until doctors rubber stamp every patient onto that list.

I'm a member of Gun Owners of America and will be giving them a call in the morning.

I'm sure the standard exemptions for the Stasi will be applied.

Let's face it

Reagan screwed up when he closed mental institutions that had the capacity for triage, criminal insane, security levels, half ways house, geneactric, disabled before and after age 21, teens, adults, rehab, variosu therapies, out patient services.. now we have prison and nurses with certificates to write prescriptions making diagnoses within 15 minutes of a visit. The system we have, no matter of the drugs are good or bad.. most never really know because there is not a system that actually provides a person the opportunity to get the proper care. There are plenty of folks who are not on meds who may need meds (I think many people have a thyroid problem and get diagnosed with depression for example)

It's been pretty clear to me since a few years ago we had "the looney with the gun".. and while the looney was "put down", the saga continues as the government has decided it needs to protect people from "the looney with the gun". So those who have taken meds, will lose their right to be armed.

Reagan wasn't the only one.

This also happened in Britain, Australia and New Zealand.
All part of a long term plan.

I did not know that

I'm not sure how to search for that.

Hi Granger,

Thank you Jill Booth

Both were very interesting articles, and I noticed on the first link, an article that addressed mental health and globalization.

It seems the stigma against mental health is alive and well for those who think it is best to disarm "the looney with a gun".

Xanax has been prescribed for PMS for decades.

PMS is due to normal hormonal fluctuations in a woman's body.
So now Nature is a Mental Disorder???
This is ignorance gone to seed, and it is time for an ace kicking in DC.

Ok guys its official stop

Ok guys its official stop condemning these anti depressants as the work of satan, I am right now on Cymbalta and started on Lexapro. Depression and anxiety runs in my family and Lexapro saved my life. I am not saying that these drugs are for everyone they are not, but neither are illicit drugs like even marijuana. Cannabis for a person who has anxiety in their gene is very dangerous and induces paranoia after usage something we are not educated about as youngsters which could be the war on drugs to blame but that's another story. Anyways stop it with the misinformation because you guys are not doctors there are people who are these meds who generally need them and they are not shooting up schools..so cool it.

Cymbalta

How is the cymbalta working for you? I was on it for a while when it first came out and it made me twitchy. I'm not on anything now (I got much better after having a hysterectomy), but the two that worked best for me were abilify and viibryd... they are very similar in composition but viibryd is about 1/5 the price of abilify.

You Are Right, There are MILLIONS of people on these Drugs

~And what percentage of these patients committed mass murder? Not many, obviously.

About 3 or 4, I reckon

And they were already crazy, the drug didn't make a damn bit of difference. Giving anti-depressants to dangerous people doesn't make them any less dangerous.

Seriously considering

Seriously considering abandoning this website over those down votes.

Shouldn't write off Daily Paul

True libertarians have to take back the site from anti-science, anti-libertarian crackpots. I hate Big Pharma and the insurance industry. But I don't want to take away the second amendment rights of millions of Americans because they are helped by modern medicine.

The crackpot pill-haters infesting DP are giving a big F.U. to anybody who doesn't bow to their anti-psychiatry religion. And real libertarians have to stay here and fight back!

So voting this one down even though I voted your other post up. ;-)

Take back the GOP and Restore America Now.

Sorry its just everywhere I

Sorry its just everywhere I look there are people flooding misinformation on these medications and I was getting pretty sick of it because they worked pretty well for me.. glad to see there are still some logical people on this site.

Sources?

Please provide a link where we can verify this is actually in the bill.

Here is the article he references.

People will now avoid

People will now avoid psychiatrists, and the poisons they are pushing. That's a silver lining.

Get off Meds.

It's dangerous to your health, and now it's dangerous to your freedom.

Do not quit suddenly, you have to taper off VERY SLOWLY - trust me on that one. Unless you have a yearning desire to see what "bat shit crazy" feels like. But get through it, get over it, get around it, but most of all - get off it. Most of the "disorders" are NORMAL, PASSING PHASES of a life well lived. If you do not experience depression, you have never really loved anything. If you are never anxious, you have never pushed yourself to excel. If you are never angry, you are not paying attention.

Love or fear? Chose again with every breath.

Downvoting both of you

Pill-haters are allies of gun-haters in disarming America. It's extremely anti-liberty to get all gleeful about millions of people losing their second amendment rights in a calculated scheme to disarm us. People who kill while on drugs were killers in their hearts anyway. Prozac makes crazy people--still crazy.

Anti-depressants make me a better person, giving me empathy, ability to look people in the eye, making me immune to road rage, increasing my productivity at work and attention to my family at home--it's a huge improvement in my personality with no negative effects.

Probably I'll quit them naturally as I adjust my diet, trying to cut out sugar. But they're not making me loony, and the one time I ran out for a month because I didn't get around to going to Target to get a refill, I didn't have any noticeable withdrawal except the improvements they bring fading out slowly.

So you realize you can get the same benefits from diet?

But prefer to use a pill that says right on the label it may make you suicidal?
I am glad you feel better, but I was trained in "medical ethics" 20+ years ago, and back then it would have landed a doctor in jail to pass out a drug that had the potential to make a patient worse. "First do no harm" meant NO harm, not "It's OK if you kill 5% of your patients, the other 95% will defend the drug, and the ones who died won't complain." They lowered the ethical standards to get these pills to market. Doctors pass them out like candy and rarely say a word about the possible devastating side effects. Depression and anxiety respond beautifully to diet and exercise, but those are not profitable so they are not recommended.

Love or fear? Chose again with every breath.

The way to enforce something deeply unpopular?

Steal a generation. It is that easy. The Ratlin generation will never own guns, returning vets will never own guns, and anyone who has been to a shrink will never own guns.

I mentioned this in one of my

I mentioned this in one of my posts two weeks ago. You can find any mood as psychological disorder in the medical ICD-9 codes. I even saw an anti-social disorder. This code could be given to anyone suffering depression, or have less than five friends. This mental illness check is a big trap that is set by the government, both parties. A true gun right supporter is rare in government. They all know the 2nd right is to limit the power of the government.

Look Up the medical definitions of anti-social disorder and a-so

...and asocial disorder. The Ice Man has anti-social disorder, meaning, no remorse or regret over being a Mafia Hit man. Asocial means a hermit. BIG DIFFERENCES.

Let's test Congress to see how many know the difference...
Each Representative should pass a test on Constitutional Law and History.
Also, We need to be researching 'outdated' or unenforced codes and laws to find if we have standing to Remove the Offenders from Congress or charge them with a crime.

Breach of the Public Trust, embezzlement, squandering of US Treasury Funds on wasteful projects, missing money, monopolies should have MANDATORY prison sentences for the FIRST offense.

And no 'bill' shall be voted on in 'phantom form' with 6 days of extended delay in reaching the floor for a vote for EACH page of legislation.

We need to go on the OFFENSE and PUSH for Mandatory Prison Sentences (No paying a fine to avoid jail and no judicial overrules)

PRISON, not fines will be the only way to stop these criminals COLD.

Galatians 5:1
It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Diabolically genius.

Heard from a young lady who did her nursing clinical at an elementary school recently. School nurse admitted that, though most of the students in the school are diagnosed with ADHD, it is grossly over diagnosed and in truth a rare case where a kid is indeed hyperactive to the point of needing to be medicated.

Quote: Parents and teachers don't want to deal with the kids so they drug them.End quote.

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.
Ron Paul - The Revolution

Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms. Ron Paul

True. Parents and teachers do not want to

bother with the kid; so drug him. And this speaks against an educational system that is outdated and completely ineffectual in encouraging mind development and creative thinking.

Learning is better done by computer children choose each day what they want to learn from a selection of topics required to move forward to the next level. I have seen this work beyond belief with ADHD children who excel when given the freedom to choose their own path of learning.

I guess if this new law catches fire that will phase out psychiatrists and their drug industry, but then they will find another reason, as someone mentioned, less than 5 friends.

The people will rebel.

"The people will rebel"

That's probably the whole idea.
