The Will of God in Christ Jesus Concerning You!

Good morning Friends of Liberty. I am addressing Believers, so as not to offend anyone. But you, if you are not a Believer, are welcomed to take a look and comment as well if you like. Peace.

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you! I Thessalonians 5:18

What a rich chapter 1 Thessalonians 5 is!

Look what else it says:

verse 15:

See that non render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

It is not just our Christian brothers and sisters to whom goodness is due. We are to do good among ourselves and ALSO TO ALL!

Chapter 5 starts with these words:

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with childe; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

I was just overwhelmed at the words this morning while preparing to teach that I wanted to share with my Friends of Liberty here at the Daily Paul.

I leave you with vs. 14: Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. (I couldn't help but add vs. 15 again.)

Those sound like marching orders to me. What a wonderful Lord we serve. We are bound but by 2 laws. The first to love God and the 2nd to love people. (read about it in Matt 22:35-40) What is so hard about that? It is pretty simple language isn't it.

What if all Christians -those who have placed their trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin- had forgotten everything else and just followed those 2 rules? What would the world be like today?

What if we started now?

Outstanding video, bear!

I will have to post this in my Agape' Forum!

A Constitutional, Christian conservative who voted for Ron and stands with Rand

Don't really understand

why you got the downvotes Bear. You didn't say anything which could be offensive to anyone.

Just in case I'm misunderstood

I was not being sarcastic. Seriously, why all the hatred of Christianity? I would trust my liberty to Bear's care more than to any of the intolerant Atheists on this site (as well as more than any of the intolerant "Christians" here). She has really never said a mean word to anyone here, even those she profoundly disagrees with.

I have to admit, I was a bit surprised by the reaction.

It concerns me.

Ron Paul

is a Christian and when he spoke, he sure sounded like one. That is why he was hated so much by the media and the Government. Because they are evil people and hate Christians. Obama claims he is a Christian but he is a 100 percent not. If Jesus was here during the Convention, he would have sounded like Ron Paul.

One of the main reason I like Ron

Is he doesn't mix religion and politics. He's the ideal Christian and the opposite of a bible thumper.

I don't think you understand

The golden rule is just good-hearted common sense. The boos he received from the audience were from Christians who were pissed that he didn't want to unjustly attack Muslims simply because they were Muslim.

What Ron Paul did was directly take religion out of the foreign policy debate. Neo-conservative Christians absolutely hate that idea. The MSM has brainwashed neocons into believing it's a Christian VS Islam war.

Cyril's picture

Exactly, and the booers were even worse

Exactly, and the booers were even worse than your typical religious bigot. They were plain vanilla brainwashed selfish materialistic morons.

True Christians can only but pity those. If one can't get the Golden Rule is no way more negotiable than 1 + 1 = 2, accessible already to a 4 year old... well, you get the picture.

But hey, one often only gets what they deserve from their action or from where they stand, eventually. It's only a matter of time.

To each their own values and heroes.

"Cyril" pronounced "see real". I code stuff.

"To study and not think is a waste. To think and not study is dangerous." -- Confucius

If every Christian held the same values

As Ron Paul, the world would be a very different place. But there you have it.

Damn! I wanted to use some logic to bash this post

but then I saw it was from bear. Bear has always been nice to me so I shall refrain. Enjoy your day.

Hi Go!!!

and you have always been nice to me. No wonder we are supposed to be kind!!!

"See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men."

I still remember the first time I "met" you. I think it was about sophism...I had never even heard the word before lol

But I do know that Dr. Paul advocates the Golden Rule and so did Jesus. I think it makes people who don't see the same way able to respect and care for each other. That was what I was hoping to explain with this post. I didn't mean to make anyone feel like bashing anyone.

And Go, I care for you. I hope you hare having sunny beach filled days! It is just now spring here.

And may you Go 213 MPH!
(Just thinking about that puts a smile on my face!)

Beautiful words of encouragement Bear. Thank you.

Don't let the God haters get you down.

I believe that the hand of protection has been removed from our nation, there will be much more of this to come, this reviling and hatred, and when it all comes down, persecution in the truest biblical sense. Do not be dismayed. If they hated Him, they will hate us. But I'm sure you know that.

It's time for me to bid farewell to the Liberty Movement, it was a nice idea, but no more. There are no political solutions and probably never have been. It is time for those of us who have faith to devote ourselves to prayer and preparation for that which is to come, and it will surely come.

Judgment begins at the house of God. It has begun.

thanks. we've been thinking the same thing--do as thou wilt is

satanism. so what's to keep the anti-theists from turning to violence to rid the 'movement' of bible thumpers?

Anyway, we are pushing full steam ahead in every area we can try to turn people to Christ. May God bless you.

Tao Chi Fun

If you say goodbye to the Liberty Movement what will fill the void? That is the question I continue to ask myself.

The void

is in the hearts of men, and can only be filled by God. I have supported Ron Paul and liberty for many years, because for many years I have held onto the hope that we might turn this ship of state around, that America might somehow be restored. I no longer believe that the Liberty Movement is working toward this end, and therefore I can no longer be a part of it.

These passages come to mind.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matthew 6:22-23

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:5-17

The freedom that the Liberty Movement seems to be seeking bears little resemblance to the freedom that I have found in Christ. The freedom that Christ gives to all who put their trust in Him is true freedom, freedom from the law of sin and death and it's power over our lives. While the freedom that the Liberty Movement is seeking seems to be summed up in a few words, "Do as thou wilt". As a bondservant of Christ, I can no longer unite myself to a cause whose purpose would not seem to be liberty at all, but license.

πολλα γαρ πταιομεν απαντες ει τις εν λογω ου πταιει ουτος τελειος ανηρ δυνατος χαλιναγωγησαι και ολον το σωμα

Well said!

Not too long ago, I was in Jeremiah, and I felt God tell me that his wrath was because we have turned from Him. I realized then that my focus was on fighting the evil of this world, rather than turning people back to Christ. I felt God tell me that the evil would always be here, lurking, destroying, binding, enslaving, and that is for Him to handle. *I* am to worry about others' souls. I am to focus on proclaiming the Gospel.

I understand when you say that you will leave the Liberty movement, and I am soon to follow. My eyes will no longer be focused on fighting the immense evil taking over our world. It will now be focused on winning the eternal battle. Be blessed, Tao Chi Fun!

To know God

and to make Him known. What could possibly be of any greater importance to the disciple of Christ?

God will soon pour out His Spirit upon the world, in mercy as well as justice. There are seeds to be sown, and a final harvest to be reaped. I want to do my part, to be a part, of this final harvest.

The politics of this world will continue as ever before, and to the same end, with or without my participation.

Blessings to you, Juneau.

πολλα γαρ πταιομεν απαντες ει τις εν λογω ου πταιει ουτος τελειος ανηρ δυνατος χαλιναγωγησαι και ολον το σωμα

Well said.

"While the freedom that the Liberty Movement is seeking seems to be summed up in a few words, 'Do as thou wilt'."

I couldn't have said it better myself and that's why I'd ask you not to leave.

Do as thou wilt is what this boils down to for a lot of people, and why I felt the need to bring up nihilism. It's possible to put a very nihilistic spin on Jesus through love and tolerance. Justice and vengeance aren't the same thing.

Vengeance is Gods business. Not mine.

I'd quit on the liberty movement too, but I have to believe that the truth will win out and "the void" finds it's true value to liberty, none.

Thanks FR,

but I'm out. I don't think it would be possible for me not to continue to speak to friends, family, and those I meet along the way of what I see going on in politics and the world, I've been a part of this resistance for far too long. But to support a particular party or a movement, or even a candidate is less important to me now than it ever was. I see no meaningful answers being offered, and no real hope for significant changes in the political spectrum. It's time to turn my efforts and attention toward what the Lord has been showing me, matters of far greater importance, such as fasting and prayer, fellowship, and when the Lord leads, evangelism.

I've been on an extended vacation for the last month or so and have had more time to hang around and post on the DP. I'm getting back to business tomorrow and won't be around much if at all for the next several months, as my profession takes me to some rather remote locations. As another one of those wacky bible thumpers, I'm sure I won't be missed. :o)

Peace and love in Jesus Christ.

I will miss you

Ephesians 4:1 KJV
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Colossians 1:10 KJV
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

1 Thessalonians 2:12 KJV
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

Revelation 3:4 KJV
Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

Godspeed, my friend, until we meet again.

Likewise Bear :o)

Thank you so much for the scripture, you have no idea just how timely and applicable they are right now. God is good.

You're right.. I'm Sorry.

The more I think about it, and the more sorry I am that I tried to tempt you off the proper path. You're absolutely right, and I said the same thing to myself from the beginning. There is no political solution, but Ron Paul made me think there might be.

People don't want liberty and they fear justice. They want what injustice offers, and they want to revel in their nature. I also get the distinct feeling that the Daily Paul and the liberty movement is the "do what thou wilt" crowd trying to hide behind liberty and platitudes.

I'm about done with the liberty movement myself.

At some point it stops being about showing people how to win the debate and becomes pride, and even sadism. I never wanted to hurt these people, but they certainly chose to hurt me and anybody who keeps the faith.

Peace be with you brother. You're on the right path.

This is very encouraging. More believers that understand.

I'll share this with my family.

Christians should not be warmongers! http://www.lewrockwell.com/vance/vance87.html

No worries FR.

My path is set. I have had some wonderful fellowship with fellow believers here at the DP lately and I will miss it, but you will all be in my prayers daily. God Bless.

πολλα γαρ πταιομεν απαντες ει τις εν λογω ου πταιει ουτος τελειος ανηρ δυνατος χαλιναγωγησαι και ολον το σωμα

What happened to you? "I

What happened to you?

"I never wanted to hurt these people, but they certainly chose to hurt me and anybody who keeps the faith."

I woke up to what Tai Chi Fun and many others already know

The Daily Paul and the liberty movement are all about seeking license to "do what thou wilt", not defending liberty.

That's why my ears go up when I hear people talking about tolerance and love. Nihilism can hide behind tolerance and love, but nihilism has NOTHING to do with tolerance and love. It's about creating license to "do what thou wilt".

There's a very good reason you got the initial reaction you got, and a very good reason why it went from so negative into the positive.

You don't need to thank me. I made you look like a victim, and for that I'm sorry. I think you know what kind of people populate the Daily Paul, and I don't believe for a second that I'm the first person who's mentioned that Ron Paul is an Anarchist.

I'm just the first person who broke it down and told you what that really means. Anarchists are frauds who can't explain let alone defend their political ideology, because nobody knows better than an Anarchist that Anarchism fails and gets replaced by government.

An Anarchist can't tell you what they actually are.

I DID tell you what they are, and it sure isn't somebody who wants to "restore Constitutional government to the United States of America".

I am pretty sure Ron Paul says if you do what you will...

You will be the one to pay the consequences. He does not advocate lawlessness. I think when people pay the consequences for poor choices it creates responsibility.

Did you here hims speak at a college recently. The name of the school started with O but I cant remember it. Ron Paul said IN WORDS that he was not an Anarcho Capitalist.

If you want to know what I think, I think you can take a look at Tampa. Where did Ron Paul speak? The message was to become the republican party.

Right now we have a government that does not abide by the rule of law. Ron Paul is a Constitutionalist. Which mean that there is a Law of the Land that is to be followed. He said so many times that Contracts need to be enforced (whatever that meant, but I figure it has soemthing to do with the law).

If anything, I can see a certain element trying to hi-jack what Ron Paul started to snuff out liberty.

I want facts about Ron Paul. Not your words. Give me cold hard facts. Not words and definitions that are strung together to make him into something.

I also want to say that non-Christians are going to hate Christians because they hate Christ. Jesus said so. But we are not to give them a reason to hate.

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

Is it your goal to wear out our welcome here? Because if that is the case we will be dusting the feet of our shoes instead of sharing Christ. I have a burden for these people who say they want Liberty. Why can't God do a great work if we work among them?

We have the seed of the kingdom to sow. Can we not try to plant and water? God will uproot the tares in the end. But for now the wheat and the tares grow up together.

My children go to a Christian School with the rich of the town. My kids are preacher's kids. I dread field trips as some of the so called Christians look down their noses at the world around them. We have an alcoholic coming to our church. I told my husband I would rather go on a field trip with him and the friend he is bringing than some of the mothers at my children's school.

There are those who look up in the temple and say I am glad I am not like the sinners while the sinners will not even look up and ask for mercy.

We live in a day when people do not even believe the Bible. Why give them anymore reason to doubt. Why not come along side and teach and encourage? If we believe that people will spend an eternity condemned and apart from God, shouldn't we do all that we can to show them God? God is Love. God is Just. God is Merciful. God is Judge.

Jesus's message was not to stone the woman that was caught in adultry. There was no one who could cast a stone. His message was to go and sin no more.

Satan has been busy subjecting people to all kinds of false news. How are they supposed to understand the Good News?

Romans 10:14 KJV
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Yes, we have the "soul" of our country to be highly concerned for. we also know eternal souls of people we should be weeping over.

Maybe then we will see liberty.
