Guess I'm committing to going to West Fest this year, not for the beer and food this time. I imagine the Baylor students and faculty are already racking their heads on a relief effort for the summer.

My sympathies to the families

I want to express my sympathy to all the families and all injured or killed.
How can Obama make some points for gun control from this tragedy?
Surely this terrible event must have something to do with gun owners and people who buy gun powder.
Sorry, I am just sick of all the propaganda to take away our 2nd amendment rights.

One of my inlaws drives big rigs for UPS

along highway 35, there. We got an email from him soon after the explosion. "That is where I frequently stop for dinner, and would have been there at that time, had I been working. One of my southbound friends chose to skip dinner there tonight because he was in a hurry to get home for the birth of a grandchild. A northbound driver friend had pulled off the highway just on the north side of town, checked his truck, and ate a quick sandwich. He was just pulling out when the explosion occurred, and he sure stepped on the gas!"

They just ordered the whole town to evacuate about 15 minutes ago. He used to work there when he was a teenager.

Glad they're ok! Sad news seems to be piling up these days.

Friend who lives in Riesel

Friend who lives in Riesel just texted me about it. The plant was near the center of town, which is also near many ag fields, and probably leveled several houses. West is a quaint little town, hate to see this happen to them. The West bakery's kolaches are to die for too
