11:46pm - That helicopter has been hovering for the past half hour now...I can hear it.

I thought it had something to do with the Boston Marathon bombers. An MIT police officer just got shot, less than a mile from my house, according to the Boston Globe:

CAMBRIDGE -- An MIT police officer suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday night and was taken to a hospital, according to a State Police spokesman.

MIT and Cambridge police responded to a report of shots fired about 10:30 p.m. Thursday near Main and Vassar streets, said State Police spokesman Dave Procopio.

What in the world?

Throwing some sanity from my part of the country to yours.

That the officer was shot with his own gun.

A police officers chances of

A police officers chances of being killed in the line of duty are about the same as being struck by lightning once in the same year.
If an applicant to the police force does not accept these odds, I suggest that person doesn't apply for the job.

A lot of sirens now

Now it crosses my mind that maybe the shooter was one of the bombers.

What are the chances?

The world is on fire. It's getting too heavy.

Yeah, pretty heavy

I'm going to try to hit the sack, but that helicopter is still there.

What made you change the topic title?

I read an article from the Atlantic Wire. I don't like to assume, but it appears someone held up a 7-11, and the guy shot at the campus cop.

This title is more descriptive

I didn't know what was going on. I changed it after seeing the Atlantic Wire article.

I can see the helicopter from my bedroom window. It is circling, not just hovering. They must be looking for the guy.

Where did you get the info that he held up the 7-11? That picture at the Atlantic is on campus. It is a couple of blocks from 7-11.
