Michael, what's it like under Martial Law right now?

I hope you and your family are clear of this developing situation.

Hang tough brother.

Isn't It WORSE Than Martial Law?

Are they asking permission from homeowners to search or are they just forcing their way into all of the homes without need of warrants? This seems like a military cordon and search operation. If they can do it to an entire community, what, in principle, stops them from doing it to the entire city of Boston?

Or,

for that matter, to the entire United States.

I heard a comment on the news ...

... and I don't know if they were serious or sensationalizing (they make up a lot of things and present it as "news"), but they said that the police are knocking on doors, and if there is no response, they get on the bullhorn, and if you still don't respond, they are "coming in whether you like it or not."

THAT, my friends, is martial law.

The thought of martial law in boston, feels like a calm before very LONG storm

Sounds like it's standard

Sounds like standard practice for a terrorist attack, I'm sure similar declarations were signed after 9/11 and OKC

I had to work today in brookline

Brookline is about 5 miles east of Boston, and it was weird.

Very few cars on the road, it seemed that half of the vehicles on the road were cops, I never realized how many cops there were.

While driving, you could tell that the cops were checking you out, and all the other vehicles on the road as well.

I like to bash cops when stupid cops infringe on our liberties, but today, I am grateful for the cops.

And when I got to the jobsite, the people were all scared, scared of me, because they didn't know who I was.

I had to explain myself to many people there, trying to comfort them.

I hope they catch this guy soon. The people are living in fear right now.

I usually work at MIT in Cambridge, and I've met the cop who was killed several times, very nice kid, breaks my heart to see this happen to him.

I just can't understand, how someone who was 19 years old and nobody saw any signs of societal disorder, can all of a sudden become a cold blooded killer of innocent people.

The world is going to hell in a handbasket.

This is security run amok.

I can't think of anything less likely that I would be grateful for cops protecting me from one man, underarmed, underaged.

Truthfully, there is always someone that is running from a robbery or shooting in my city everyday.

This is a test case for martial law, on America's birthday.

Even Family Guy knew about it before hand.

One suspect is not an excuse to lockdown a whole city

This isn't tolerable.

One teen shuts down a city!

Jesse Ventura said a few years ago that him and seven of his ex-Navy-SEAL buddies could shut down the country with such tactics. Almost sounds viable.

Martial law

So far today I have been traveling through all the towns that are on lockdown. The streets are pretty dead it seems like everyone is home under their beds. There are several helicopters in the air moving around from location to location. Most businesses have shut down today some are open but only in a limited capacity. It is very Erie driving around the streets of Boston right now. Flags in front of corporations are at half mast. And there is almost nobody walking the streets right now. It seems as though many police cars are driving back and forth at a high rate of speed but they are not bothering the citizens. I will check back in later.

I'm just trying to get my head around all of this--

I'm glad you're all right, Michael.

You want to know what it feels like under martial law?

It feels like being in the military without guns, rank or pay.

calling names and insulting is not debate

It meands you have no debate and so you personally attack the person. If you politially disagree with me, your name calling and insults do not make your case, it makes you the fool, to which there is no argument.

The saddest part

is that if Michael was suspect they would just "throw in the burners" and go Dorner on his ass while reporting about his website. It's standard procedure now.

If you hear that Michael, it is time to get out of dodge.
