Outrage as radio host tells Sandy Hook victims' families to 'go to hell' for infringing on his gun rights

A Minnesota radio host has sparked an online firestorm after he said live on air that he'd like to tell the families of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting victims to 'go to hell' for infringing on his rights to own a gun.
Bob Davis, one half of the outspoken 'Davis & Emmer,' show on Twin Cities News Talk AM, was discussing gun control when he made the outrageous comment about the Newtown, Connecticut tragedy earlier this month.
'I'm sick and tired of seeing these victims trotted out, given rides on Air Force One, hauled into the Senate well, and everyone is just afraid -- they're terrified of these victims,' he said. '... I would stand in front of them and tell them, "Go to hell."'

How dare he talk like that to

How dare he talk like that to the Sandy Hook actors!

Resist the temptation to feed the trolls.

I think this is one of 3 things

1. He got carried away and said something stupid, instead of correctly articulating the absurdness of the exploitation of these victoms.
2. He is as an operation mockingbird type that likes to make gun owners look irrational, crazy, and unsympathetic.
3. He is a combination of the two - a good hearted idiot that gets his job because of his tendency to say stupid things.

Look at the shabby way 911 survivors have been treated....

for requesting a new investigation. I am tired of people letting themselves be used to push a political agenda by the very people responsible for for the tragedy. How many remember how often they trotted out James and Sarah Brady, when it was George H. W. Bush behind the "hit"? It is gratifying someone in the media is willing to take a "hit" on this.

I don't like them Sandy Hook

I don't like them Sandy Hook families trying to rule me with their emotions. I'd tell them to their face to go to hell too and I would add, "Stop waving your bloody dead children in front of my face too".

you want to be a pawn for the Obummer administration. Don't cry when your treated like one.

dave anderson

So what? aren't we all jaded who cares .. If a victim uses a

tragedy to push a political agenda against the will of the people than yeah, they can go to hell.

the media has been terrorizing the constitution with these b.s. stories.

A true flower can not blossom without sunlight and a true man can not live without love.

I can't help but to agree

If there is any group of people on this earth who ought to know that gun laws and gun-free zones don't keep one safe, its these parents.

The same goes for ANYBODY

Phony victims, real victims, sweet little old ladies, ANYBODY who tries to infringe my rights can go STRAIGHT TO HELL!

I didn't listen to him, but...

...He can be both SYMPATHETIC and OUTRAGED at the same time.

And REALLY outraged if they are just actors and there were no deaths, as has been documented elsewhere.

But the fiction or non fiction of the shooting aside, if these liberal parents care so much about their evil, authoritarian philosophy to dance on the graves of their dead children while giving the middle finger to Liberty and the rights our Founding Father died for, then they should be called out openly.

Why don't they just all move to Cuba or some hardcore communist country where they've been enforcing gun confiscation for years, where the people are slaves, and where there is abject poverty everywhere because all the United Nations' and U.S. foreign aid goes to prop up the lavish lifestyle of the dictator's family and friends.

The families of Sandy Hook

put themselves out there as proponents of a political agenda to deny people their 2nd amendment right under the United States Constitution. This places them in the public domain.

If they can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Agreed. If someone is going to take themselves beyond...

...being a grieving family member and try to infringe on rights like this and assault liberties and freedoms, they make themselves fair game and bear responsibility for what they're doing.

I am not outraged.

This is a completely altogether DIFFERENT discussion. When it becomes gun control vs. the possible loss of a child we are talking two different actions.

So, no, I am not outraged in the least. In fact, I agree. ANYONE that wants to take away my second amendment or infringe on it in ANY way can go straight to hell.

ANYONE who suffers the loss of a child has my deepest and heartfelt condolences.

I sure hope this guy doesn't

I sure hope this guy doesn't back-peddle and apologize. Nothing worse than saying what is on your mind, then apologizing because of a little 'blowback'.

"yeah, I said it...so what. It's called the 1st Amendment. You don't like it, don't listen".

It's usually celebrities and politicians that start apologizing as soon as the words come out of their mouths.

It's not the fault of the victims.

Call out the people using them as political props, not the victims.

About time

someone said it.

getting in front of the cameras and preaching banning weapons is beyond personal grieving and you open yourself up to candid comments.

Good for this guy. I need to go call his station and voice support.

Liberty = Responsibility

Hey...you think Glen Beck

would get a duplicate salary deal by being this honest on the air?

"Give a man a gun, and he could rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he could rob the world."

You have the audacity

to question victim power?!

Poor choice of..

Poor choice of words but the right sentiment.

Needless to say Adam Lanza

Needless to say Adam Lanza wouldn't have been stopped by stricter background checks because he got his guns from his mom, who had no trouble passing background checks. But facts have never got in the way of the gun grabbers.

Awesome for standing up

I agree with this guy...

I feel terrible for these families who lost their children, if in fact any children were killed. I mean I know people who say they know people who lost children there... but I've yet to see any hard evidence of any criminal act at that school presented in the media. That aside, even if they had pictures of Adam Lanza shooting these innocent children, I think after the exploitation I've seen, I'd be tempted to tell these parents to go to hell too. If someone lost their kids in a car crash and then wanted to start outlawing motor vehicles, I'd tell them to go to hell too. This guy's anger isn't misplaced, these parents are being exploited and obviously have no respect for MY freedom... so yeah, to hell with them. I heard one of the Sandy Hook parents speaking before Obama's press conference the other day, and I was so disgusted I wanted to puke. Anytime I hear a Sandy Hook parent speaking to the entire nation, telling us we need to give up our guns, all I can think of is Robbie Parker's sly grin and carefree laughter. I hope this host keeps his job, I know exactly how he feels.

That's a hard pill to swallow

That's a hard pill to swallow but the line has to be drawn somewhere.

His Anger is Misdirected

Innocent people were killed at Sandy Hook. No need to make other people who had nothing to do with the crime, victims as well, by depriving them of the tools with which to protect themselves from the same crime. But that's being done by politicians and lots of public figures; the families of the victims would seem to be, at worst, pawns in the game.

You're right - the line has to be drawn somewhere, and this is it. Stop punishing the innocent many for the crimes of the guilty few.

I Agree wholeheartdly.

Strangely, I was massively downvoted for saying the same thing.

hundreds of people die everyday from drunk driving

im sorry for them, it's life. But you don't see the media that gets big bucks from booze companies pushing to outlaw beer or vodka.

Everyone is responsible for his own behavior.

The families of the victims are pawns, to be sure, but that does not absolve them of responsibility for their own actions.

I have lost sympathy for them because of their actions to deprive me of my God given and Constitutionally protected right to have the means to protect myself, and to eventually fight the thugs that have taken over the federal government, when that becomes necessary and advantageous.

I understand that many people have reacted negatively to this broadcast, and that is just a reflection of their own absent or shallow thinking.
