DailyPaul is not InfoWars

(insert maddening scream here)

The DailyPaul was founded to HELP Ron Paul. Period.

Since the end of the election I have witnessed my favorite website, one I come to first when I wake.. and last one I check before bed. I have had the pleasure to make front page a ton of times and enjoyed every minute here. Until the end of the last election I enjoyed every single day here. Not so much anymore.

I am not an Alex Jones fan. Period. After dealing with his insane bullshit, multiplied by his supporters that dominate this site and divided by their paranoia and flat out nonsense..

What is the DailyPaul anymore?

I can tell you from nearly 6 years of being here that this site is NOT the Alex Jones channel.

While I RESPECT the point of view of the conspiracy theorists.. and even watch about half the videos and read about half the posts.. it keeps drawing me back to the above question.

It is my personal belief the DP was created to be a jumping pad for information for activists. It was created to support the ideology that Ron Paul inspired. I may have started a few flame threads but my heart lays exposed to this community.

I want us to win. Period.

Long live the DailyPaul. I hope the moderates still here understand this message. Those that want to win do not sacrifice principle.. but don't yell fire every time someone lights a cigarette.. or joint.

This community was built on faith from all walks of life. Faith in Freedom and Liberty.

It is my sincere hope that the DailyPaul remains the best activist, news and gate keeper site on the internet. I believe in our movement but I am sick of those that continue to link all of us with the most vocal few. Continue to push 'theory' and scream at people that disagree or push back. I promise on everything holy, standing on a stack of bibles that we will be in the dustbin of history if this keeps up. We need to UNITE people.

This is not to knock anybody here. If our efforts are to land victory.. then lets calm down the language and rhetoric. You do not win minds and hearts by being an asshole. Conspiracy is like Religion. You can't prove much.. no matter how many signs you have.

So my friends.. How do we win?

Yep, the two are not the same.

Alexa ranks the Daily Paul's web traffic at 3436, and Infowars is ranked at 304. Clearly, Infowars is way more mainstream. ;)

Thank you!

For posting this. Nowadays I feel like a shrinking minority that doesn't automatically assume everything is a conspiracy. Are some of these conspiracies true? Sure, but I came to this site to talk about RON PAUL and Liberty. I feel that Alex Jones is not good for the movement since instead of explaining what freedom is and how it is better than what we have, he just screams about every conspiracy theory. Not to mention that Alex is always trying to sell his listeners something based on these theories.

Talking about conspiracy theories TURN PEOPLE OFF. We will NEVER win with the propagation of these theories. We are about MORE than that.

I am guessing most of the more "in touch" people fled after ron's presidential bid

Its really a shame how this website isnkt more economically centered, but instead a "crazy conspiracy theory" site

Alex Jones is either:
- insensitive egomaniac who forgets everything he says and crazy
- a "New World Order" agent made to make the movement look crazy

Either way, I'm staying away from him, taking what he says as a grain of rice

"Truth is Treason in an Empire that lies" - Ron Paul

Educate the masses, and win in the end.

I'm with you

I'm looking for a website where the main emphasis is on advancing the liberty movement. At this given moment, that is not the DP.

Just prior to this post, looking at the subject lines in the 'most viewed", "top recent topics", and "active forum topics", there isn't one subject that advances the liberty movement, IMHO.

I've considered a self-imposed exile from the DP for awhile, but there is still good content on the DP (like things from Judge Napolitano, as just one example). That content has become much harder to find amongst all the clutter.

No Creator....No Liberty!!!

THE DAILY PAUL becomes more and more irrelevant each passing minute it defends Alex Jones...stupid, unproductive, and blind this movement has become; flocking to his sensationalism for it's breath of life and fleeting survival...apologetics for Alex Jones, #1 threads day in and day out, really? This how we prepare for the mid-term elections?

I like The daily paul and alex jones.

i have no problem.

Go Ron Paul!

You know P. Nicholson

There are quite a few questions you need to ask yourself.

I see many posts accusing Daily Paul members of being conspiracy theorists.

Remember that it is only a conspiracy theory until the time comes when you can prove that the theory is proven to be true.

Do you remember when the republican party conspired to steal this election from Ron Paul. When our delegates won fair and square and one by one they were robbed of their delegate seats?

Do you remember when the conspiracy theorists were accusing Jesse Benton of working with the Romney campaign. Guess we all know now how that turned out.

There is really only one small difference between you and all us conspiracy theorists. That is how far down the rabbit whole are you willing to venture to get to the truth BEFORE it is sitting on your face.

I would like to know how many DP members first became aware of who Ron Paul was from the Alex Jones show? I know I am one.

The last question you have to ask yourself is Why if Alex Jones is so full of bullshit does Ron Paul continue to grace his air waves?

Not to be a dick.. and I.mean this sincere.

This thread started more debate than any other thread that has graced the front page in the same category...

While I completely respect Mr. Nystrom and enjoy the privilege of posting here... just gonna be a little emo and say fck this.

In order to achieve our goals we must play the game. I am not advocating abandoning our principles. I am advocating realizing what it takes to win.

AJ is NOT the path to victory.

I'm on my last leg here. I love this place but I'm sick of defending it. Its been a long six yrs. My goal is victory. I can't keep putting out flames.

At some point a person realizes that their energy is best spent elsewhere.

Member 1609.. die hard Paul supporter. Not willing to do this again.

This is a hard decision for me. I left RPF over conspiracy shit. Found a home here that didn't focus on it. 2013.. thats a different story.

Just gonna say.. this hot ass thread caused more debate as to who we are than anything on the front page. I don't care to define the movement...

I just want to be part of the group that changes the world.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

We win through unity and understanding

I have been following the daily paul since January 2012 and only have had a membership for a few days. Although my relationship with the daily paul is fairy new it has easily been my go-to sight when I first heard about Ron Paul. I knew I instantly had a connection with this site when I realized I was reading the thought provoking comments people were leaving. Not only did it help me gain new perspectives about this thing I was learning about called "liberty" but it helped me realize I wasn't alone in this. That there were other people with genuine opinions working towards the same goal, a principled man with a pure heart becoming president. That day as predicted by many didn't come and shattered the optimism I had built. I thought by some miracle Ron Paul was going to walk into that white house and fix the country. In doing so I had forgotten one of the most important lessons taught by liberty, that true change comes from the individual; not outsourcing it.

As you have described, when the campaign ended I began to see many more posts that included Infowars or AJ. I think this was partly due to the fact we didn't care much for the general election and Alex is one of the most popular alternative media sources out there. As the general election past and media began to focus on other things I began to see the treads that Paul left all over the place, maybe he didn't lose. MSM was being forced to cover the things that RP talked about, even here in the leftist holy land I was seeing RP stickers on signs. I saw the worst of the conspiracy side come to face after the Sandy Hook shooting, Every day there were new conspiracies on this site that didn't even seem plausible or wouldn't even be a benefit for the establishment to do. I realized what was going on when the conspiracy of Lanza's father going on trial for the LIBOR scandal came up. When it was de-bunked within 3 hours there were MSM reports of this theory coming from the daily paul.

The system is afraid of us and has realized we have gained traction, ignoring us doesn't work anymore. Now that they are forced to recognize our existence they are going to try and de-rail us by labeling us as "cooks" and "conspiracy theorists". They are trying to push mis-info on us so they can use our blunder to generalize us further. A gleaming example of this is when AJ went on piers morgan and went off the chain. Although I found it to be the best 14 min i've seen on CNN, they used it to there advantage. Playing it every hour making AJ look nuts and throwing us all in the mix.

I think those who post on this site need to take the time to double check what they're posting and realizing that they are waiting for us to post something that they can use to there advantage. We also have to realize that although we don't agree on all things we agree in the principals of freedom and we need to focus on working together to get our point out there. There is a video on youtube of the cops holding people up by gunpoint and taking them out of there houses in Watertown. We need to get that video out to everyone we know and make them look at the government that can't balance its budget, that can't fight for our basic civil liberties is pointing a gun at us with the tax dollars we give them. Lets unite on the things we agree on and push foward.

beautifully said

The AJ folks need their own church. Start it and leave us alone.

Mr.Nystrom owns this "church"...he has not said "NO Alex Jones"...so maybe you need to go start a non-AJ Church of your own.

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy

totally agree..not "aj " site..

a j does no good for this forum .. 0!!!!!!!!!!!

alex jones

I agree that associating yourself with an elite insider is not good. Alex Jones was able to get into Bohemian Grove undetected that needs to be questioned. TPTB will Allow a little truth be known to draw you in then pile 90% b... s..on top. Beware of Alex jones he is not a honest person like Ron Paul. he is owned like glen beck hannity and others. Ron Paul was black balled from media why do you think these guys are still in business? All aj has to do is say something really dumb and you will be labled with him ...stand from afar just my opinion. I love the daily paul if I want AJ I will go to his website.

no one is stopping you

from going elsewhere or starting your own website. go for it.

I'd rather have a bottle in front o' me than a frontal lobotomy

How do we win? By realizing this is War... Which type of War?

This is War on our minds... We already knew that.

This is War against the Bill of Rights and the Constitution... We already knew that as well.

This is War against the individual... Logically implied by the previous two.

This is War against humanity and reason... That is which isn't quite understood where that comes from yet.

Here is the root of Evil waging for that War:

Destroying what the word "Law" ought to mean... Betraying language... Law is NOT mankind, law is NOT plan, law is NOT management, law is NOT forced charity (an oxymoron) justifying always bigger government and planning...

Law is and should only remain... Justice :

Think about it.

Think hard about it.

That is HOW "they" have perverted the Law.

That is HOW "they" have made the concept malleable to pursue their agenda.

That is WHY "they" have made the Constitution a living, malleable document as well.

The Constitution, pre-14th Amendment : the last bastion which was standing before liberty and the people to protect both from Legal Plunder by Big Governments.

The United States of America : the last place on earth which was/is safeguarding liberty, peace, prosperity, thanks to the document making explicit the righteous Law : Equal Rights for the INDIVIDUAL.

And only the individual.

Dr. Ron Paul warned you against this reckless, unjust, and in fact evil agenda, America :

Federal Courts and the Imaginary Constitution

And here is the evidence this agenda is no longer hidden, no longer disguised, no longer inconspicuous, but is now being DISPLAYED, is now CONSPICUOUSLY ADVOCATED FOR, by the "Supermen" :

They think we can't tell where they want to go to.

They think we can't tell what they want to bring to the People.

TELL THEM, America :

They can think AGAIN.

"Cyril" pronounced "see real". I code stuff.

"To study and not think is a waste. To think and not study is dangerous." -- Confucius

the contitution is a guarantee ..

There is mans law, and there is a Higher Authority given to us by our Creator. The Constitution, Bill of rights, and Declaration of independence guarantees it. The two work together. That is all the protection we need.

I agree completely with this

I agree completely with this post Thank you. Ever since the last election this site has just gone downhill. It turned from an activist website to what basically amounts to an extension of info wars. Be very very careful with Alex Jones. He's a demagogue of the highest order. I'd much prefer to stick with libertarian ideas, more posts from "reasontv" would be nice... Some strategies to help us WIN would be very helpful... I remember the days of people posting ideas like a Ron Paul blimp. Now every time I come to this site it's advertising some false flag attack, or FEMA death camps followed by illuminati controlling the federal reserve etc... There are other sites to go do that... If this site doesn't go back to its roots I'll be taking my patronage elsewhere while the black helicopter crown can, as the post says... be relegated to the "dustbin of history". When I first came here I thought the DP community was one of the most open minded and smartest of all the political websites. Now I find it closed minded, full or paranoia, and they don't have any real philosophy like they used to. It's just Alex Jones this and info wars that. PROPAGANDA!! That's right... You're being brainwashed by Alex Jones PROPAGANDA! (Ironic isn't it...) I welcome the vitriol...

We must be respectful of ALL ideas...

Anyone that's bold enough to ask questions or challenge the conventional train of thought is taking a step in the right direction. I agree that we must be respectful, and at the end of the day, remain united as a movement. However, we cannot overlook the difficult issues and details. We have to RESPECTFULLY challenge each other and keep an open mind to what others are saying. Everyone needs to stop telling people what they should or shouldn't post about. It may be our shared beliefs that advance the movement; but it's our diversity, skepticism, and ongoing quest for truth that make us dangerous to the status quo.

I've been saying this for

I've been saying this for months in much shorter snippets. Good post. Let the downvotes begin.

We win by margalizing craziness and nurturing creativity.

We win by stopping the infighting

Is it the Daily Paul or the Daily Jones?

The "Rand wagon" vs. the "not so fast".

Our disagreements on these issues need to be settled quickly or we put the entire liberty movement at risk.

When Dr. Ron Paul was running for office, I always sent people to the Daily Paul for some enlightenment regarding Dr. Ron's policies and platform. I can no longer do that because we no longer present a united front. Newbies just don't want to get involved with a bunch of folks bitching at each other all day... I've had several people make this comment to me after visiting this site.

Yes, we can all hold our own opinions and we can disagree with each other. But it's the manner in which we are doing it that is killing this movement.

Tell your friends, 'welcome to the internet'

Conspiracy or not, you don't learn about Ron Paul and not argue once.

Share the dailypaul far and wide, don't select appropriateness for others, mom.

They that give up liberty for security deserve neither.

I don't object to the arguing, as I stated. But I do object to the manner in which it is conducted. Since the end of the election, Sandy Hook, and now Boston, we no longer agree to disagree. It's all my way or the highway, and that's how we come off to many new folks who want to explore here. Many of these people are not new to the internet or internet discussion boards, as you imply. They are looking for civil discourse, not back-biting and sniping. They come away not really knowing where we stand.

If you were fed up with the Republicans and the Democrats, the Neocons and the Progressives, and came to this site since after the election seeking knowledge on espousing a more libertarian viewpoint (small L), would you have learned anything? Many come away with the viewpoint that it's just another faction as screwed up as the others that can't (won't) agree on much of anything. We all say that the DP should be first and foremost about liberty, and then we go on to explain how the side issues (conspiracies as one example) are all related to liberty in one way or another. But the recent tone of our discussions does nothing to grow the movement or make converts welcome... it has the exact opposite affect.

A little more honey, a little less vinegar, son. That's some more good advice that this son got from his mom.

For the time being, I've been sending people to the Liberty Defined website.

I love Dr Rand Paul and I

I love Dr Rand Paul and I love Alex Jones OK, there, I said it.

What do these people all have in common?

What unites all of these diverse people? In the final analysis, Liberty trumps conspiracy theories and everything else. All of these people want Liberty first. Everything else is secondary.

Answer is Ron Paul.

Funny, I've disagreed with each of these people at some point...

along with Paul Craig Roberts, Gerald Celente, G Edward Griffin, The Minister of Truth TMOT, Mike Adams the Health Ranger, Webster Tarpley (multiple times), Jesus Christ, Adam Kokesh, James Corbett, and others.

Yet I love them all anyway, cause they my family.

How cool is that?

Just out of curiosity...

What did Jesus Christ say that you disagreed with? I can see how all the others may have let you down, but I'm gonna need details on this one.

"I will not submit to authority of man. I'm alive, I'm awake, this is more than I can take." -Jordan Page

He said "one of you will betray me"

Salvation is gained through the blood of the lamb (according to Christian doctrine) and Christ's purpose on earth was to die for our sins. The betrayal wasn't truly a betrayal because it was necessary in order for him to be turned over to the Romans so he could fulfill his mission on earth.

However I often think that he did explain this to the disciples, and did not commit a lie of omission. Instead it is likely that this was either lost in translation or omitted from the Bible intentionally so we could figure this fact out for ourselves? I don't recall which theologian first put this idea forward...

Aside from that my human nature rebels at the idea of turning the other cheek to my enemy so that's something I don't agree with even though I know I'm wrong, so I force myself to do it anyway in the spirit of satyagraha.
