DailyPaul is not InfoWars

(insert maddening scream here)

The DailyPaul was founded to HELP Ron Paul. Period.

Since the end of the election I have witnessed my favorite website, one I come to first when I wake.. and last one I check before bed. I have had the pleasure to make front page a ton of times and enjoyed every minute here. Until the end of the last election I enjoyed every single day here. Not so much anymore.

I am not an Alex Jones fan. Period. After dealing with his insane bullshit, multiplied by his supporters that dominate this site and divided by their paranoia and flat out nonsense..

What is the DailyPaul anymore?

I can tell you from nearly 6 years of being here that this site is NOT the Alex Jones channel.

While I RESPECT the point of view of the conspiracy theorists.. and even watch about half the videos and read about half the posts.. it keeps drawing me back to the above question.

It is my personal belief the DP was created to be a jumping pad for information for activists. It was created to support the ideology that Ron Paul inspired. I may have started a few flame threads but my heart lays exposed to this community.

I want us to win. Period.

Long live the DailyPaul. I hope the moderates still here understand this message. Those that want to win do not sacrifice principle.. but don't yell fire every time someone lights a cigarette.. or joint.

This community was built on faith from all walks of life. Faith in Freedom and Liberty.

It is my sincere hope that the DailyPaul remains the best activist, news and gate keeper site on the internet. I believe in our movement but I am sick of those that continue to link all of us with the most vocal few. Continue to push 'theory' and scream at people that disagree or push back. I promise on everything holy, standing on a stack of bibles that we will be in the dustbin of history if this keeps up. We need to UNITE people.

This is not to knock anybody here. If our efforts are to land victory.. then lets calm down the language and rhetoric. You do not win minds and hearts by being an asshole. Conspiracy is like Religion. You can't prove much.. no matter how many signs you have.

So my friends.. How do we win?

I remember those days...

The Granger wasn't always the most civil or reasonable. But I've seen a change. I'm very pleased that he's gained perspective and he's an asset to the movement.

What can I say?

There's lots of learning curves in this rabblit hole and I'm more of a turtle.

DP is a crowd sourced online

DP is a crowd sourced online news paper that covers current events and other interesting topics, in case you haven't noticed. Get with the program.

Ive noticed a lot...

mainly what I have outlined in this post. I would expect a long time poster like you, to offer more than two sentences. Not being a dick.. but you have more to offer than that.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

Having observed "wiseguy" for a while now...

...that's exactly what I expect. Some people just can't listen to reason. I think 99% of the liberty movement can agree with your original message. But that loud, hard-core Alex Jones 1% will be disproportionately stubborn.

One of the biggest decisions Rand Paul will have to make will be what to do about that 1%. I think he'll have to stop going on the Alex Jones show unless he wants the establishment to smear him as fringe and unelectable.

We can win. We can get the change we ALL want (including "investigations" and an end to the shenanigans the conspiracy crowd thinks are going on). But that won't happen if we allow the liberty movement to be hijacked by folks, well-intentioned as they may be, who don't see the damage they're doing.

What you say is true, but it

What you say is true, but it needs a bit of focus on those current events.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

We win by respecting

We win by respecting Micheal's vision of the DP and the mission.

Life is not fair and those that will distort and distract incessantly will eventually not find a home here is my guess. And, that is how it should be. We should not be derailed by tolerance of consistent off subject or obviously deceptive and disruptive members. Moderation of this site will be what preserves it to its mission. There are plenty of places for those most interested in Roswell to post that type of content. It is good that Micheal enforces the dress code from time to time. We should stick to the facts anything less demeans the entire site. There is enough evil in our system that we do not need to make it up in addition.

“Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the government take care of him better take a closer look at the American Indian.” ― Henry Ford.

I agree here. As much as I

I agree here. As much as I like seeing what people think on this stuff, the site is often overwhelmed by it and the original purpose of this site, stated above, gets lost in it all.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

I agree

Another vote from me. I feel like I'm just kind of picking at the crumbs of what was once the DP. I'm keeping my eyes open for a forum that is based more on economics, monetary systems, political candidates, freedom and peace. Maybe there is one and I just don't know about it.

I think the political aspect

I think the political aspect of this website should be emphasized as that was when the site was in its element.

Politics and elections offer genuine, actionable solutions to problems rather than the assumption that the whole world is controlled by a secret cabal of Jews.

This site has been torture for me since the Boston bombing

I went through a phase when I first discovered libertarianism a few years ago when I listened to Alex Jones frequently. It was a very upsetting period for me. BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM Every day. I learned some things, I admit, and much of it was upsetting, but then I had to unlearn most of those things again because I realized they were false to varying degrees. It took a lot of effort to separate legitimate points from wild sensationalism.

I too hate the Chicken Little the Sky is Falling and Crying Wolf.

I despise the terms globalism and New World Order and now associate it with paranoia and fear-mongering.

I'm just trying to spread the message of liberty and get some freedom lovers into office, not be the internet version of Unsolved Mysteries of Government Cover-ups and the occult.

Thank you P. Nicholson.

Stick around buddy..

I promise to God we need you. The only way we win is with allies and I flat out refuse to give in to conspiracy. The better way to look at it.. is if our message wins, look at the change that will happen to our nation.

Thank you for your comment.. it honestly gives me hope and faith that I am involved in the good fight. We need you too. Promise.

Well then, there is not that much to talk about now.

People only get pumped up a few months before elections.

Half the people here don't even like Rand.

The rest is about gold, war, how corrupt 'tha man' is, etc.
Sandy Hook was filler for a few weeks and now it's Boston bombings.
It will die down just like Sandy Hook.

Just keep posting about what you like and read what you like. Believe me, I skip over a LOT of DP posts.

There is something here for everyone.

so..

how do we use this to our advantage?

What message can we all rally around?

Where do we agree and join hands?

We are all leaders my friend.. it depends on how we use the resources.

There has to be a way to unite this community.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

Unfortunately that is true...

Unfortunately that is true, the movement is only as good as the man who leads it. Which is why we need to convince Ron to run for Governor of Texas 2014.

Do you

Think if Rand won he wouldn't give Ron a spot in the cabinet?

I believe..

If Rand wants to win.. he wont mention his father.

This is chess and not checkers.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

I don't think he would

His dad wasn't good enough for him to endorse, so why would he want him in his administration?

well..

apparently you don't understand the politics of any given situation.

To believe that Rand would cast his father out is a bit silly....

We are playing chess.. not checkers.

I highly doubt Rand made freshman moves without at least consulting his dad. It may have been symantics to save his dad from criticism.. but they were both were wise enough to understand what they were up against.

King me.. but I'd rather play chess.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

And besides, Rand doesn't

And besides, Rand doesn't stand a chance imho. It's Hillary's to lose!

I like

RAND but I am keeping a close eye on him.

:)a

Thanks for the comment..

There is a way we can channel this energy to be useful to our cause. Dick Armey and FOX cant do it.. the left wouldn't even if they figured out how.

We are truly independent. We have the opportunity to silence the McCains and closet fkr Lindsaaaaaay Graham. We have the power to change the party and shape the future.

Neither party wants us, but yet, we are here.

Our voice has been distorted, lied upon and flat out conspired against.. and they wonder why we distrust govt and media???

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

AJ Rocks!

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."
- Samuel Adams

As an old DPer used to say: "We all have our roles to play. (or something like that)" Even John Adams, who later gave us the Alien Sedition acts, had a role to play, but I'll take the guy with the fire in his belly over the tepid with the lead in their pants.

Leges sine moribus vanae

Note..

the spirit of this post...

I am not knocking AJ or his believers/followers.

This is not Infowars.. this is the DailyPaul and I want to make sure we define a difference.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

Thank you also for noting the flight of "moderates"

"Moderates" isn't the best term, but I think we all know what you mean. The regular folks who supported Ron Paul but have relatively mainstream views (e.g., they aren't conspiracy theorists, they don't want anarchy, they are perceived as less "radical") have fled in droves.

I've come and gone a few times. I've come to realize there isn't currently a better alternative. But that doesn't mean I'm satisfied with the state of our movement and of DP. It's a necessary evil, but it's an evil that many folks who would agree with what you just wrote have walked away from in frustration.

love you man...

just for understanding what I was trying to convey.

Thanks so much for your comment.

Lets win this chit... Its up to us to do it. Id rather tell my child of my attempts and her learn from my experience and principle than believe in something that might have happened.

Again.. thanks for your comment.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

Love you too, man...

...but I think you know how this is going to go. You'll get lots of upvotes, and LOADS of downvotes.

This place isn't about the love anymore; not when it comes to questioning the appropriateness of mixing the liberty movement with conspiracism. The bury brigade will see your polite and respectful disagreement and raise you 200 downvotes.

It's how they roll. If you're loud enough and show up in enough numbers, maybe those who disagree with you will be intimidated or just leave.

Not all AJ listeners are like that. There are some really great ones (most of them have left, too, because they hate the tone of the movement). But too many of them think the aggressive, paranoid style is a winner. They're wrong.

brother...

so far..

The reception has been better than expected.

I listen to Aj sometimes.. doesnt mean I have to subscribe to his beliefs. He gets way out of control sometimes and I have a more level head. Had he appeared on Piers the way Larry Pratt did I would have a TON more respect.

The fact he didn't have the maturity, respect or honor enough to understand that he was on national television representing a movement means I dont have to repect irrational behavior. He literally gave all the ammunition to the left.. and did so riding a high horse while throwing anyone associated with him under the bus. I posted the now infamous 'Screw Alex Jones' thread because I was flat out pissed at him over his lack of LEADERSHIP.

Leaders do not lose their cool and give the enemy fodder. Leaders lead. They are honorable in tough situations. AJ was not. Period. He acted like a paranoid prom date trying to impress his buddies.

He didn't even apologize for his actions.

Jussayin.

'Peace is a powerful message.' Ron Paul

I agree

But the Daily Paul isn't The Blaze either. I can't stand having to go on this site seeing some one post something about Glenn Beck. I went over to Ron Paul because I had enough of Glenn Beck lying to me.

I agree.

While I find some of them interesting most are not backed by any facts and are just wild speculation.
