I Think A Missile Strike Appears To Have Destroyed West Texas Fertilizer Plant

Missile Strike Appears To Have Destroyed West Texas Fertilizer Plant

With everyone’s attention on the Boston Marathon bombings there have been a few events that occurred last week that have flown under the radar. On Wednesday April 17th 2013 there was an explosion at a fertilizer plant in West Texas that killed several people and injured hundreds. Raw video footage showing the plant on fire and the subsequent explosion shows what looks like a missile blowing up the complex. A very distinct sound can be heard right before the blast indicating that some sort of object traveling at a very high rate of speed was fired into the area. The corporate media has claimed that something inside the plant set off the larger explosion but if you carefully watch the footage it is obvious that this was not the case. The explosion was reported to have been felt up to 50 miles away and even registered 2.1 on the Richter scale creating an enormous mushroom cloud. This is similar to the Oklahoma City bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah federal building which resulted in a 3.0 reading on the Richter scale. The blast left a crater 30 yards across and 15 yards deep. Barry Murry a local resident who lives a mile away from the plant compared the blast to a bomb going off when speaking with CNN and this is just one of several eyewitness accounts comparing it as such. Common sense would dictate that this type of seismic activity and the crater size could have only occurred with the use of a powerful missile or bomb and the video evidence certainly supports it.

Give me a break!

This is so absurd I find it hard to believe that anyone would believe this sort of crap. This is so incredibly offensive I don't know what to say. The Daily Paul has been overrun by a slew of morons devoid any capability to think critically.

I will clear up some common sense for you

I happen to live 7 miles from 1349 river rd in Middletown CT - home of the Kleen Energy plant that exploded in February of 2010 - killing 6 and injuring about 50 people.

Litte background - this was a natural gas power plant being constructed. The lines were being cleaned - which they do by sending gas through the lines and blowing out debris. Something went wrong and the gas ingnited causing a rather large blast.

I was outside cutting wood - at seven miles you heard what sounded just like rolling thunder in the distance - then a matter of seconds later the blast. At seven miles away I FELT the concussion from the blast hit me - and it was LOUD.
Many houses that were close to the plant were serverely damaged by the blast(which by the way -the plant is on the side of the CT river - no houses right next door like this plant)

This too shot up a cloud into the sky. This too would probably have looked like a bomb if someone had a picture.

Our first thought was a terrorist attack(the old nuclear power plant is not far from where the blast was) - I never thought an explosion from a power plant could be so powerful to actually feel the concussion that far away - and their were many reports of people MUCH farther away feeling the blast.

That was just a little natural gas - again the plant was NOT online - they were just cleaning the pipes. I can imagine the energy in the fertilizer would be many times greater.

Enough conspiracy crap. Accidents happen.
"Common sense would dictate that this type of seismic activity and the crater size could have only occurred with the use of a powerful missile or bomb and the video evidence certainly supports it."

I dont think common sense applies to issues that you have ZERO experience with - common sense applies to things you encounter on a regular basis and can interpret based upon repetitive experience with. Have you ever SEEN a missle flying through the sky in person??

If you want a conspiracy - here it is
"On 5 August 2010, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced that it planned to fine seventeen companies involved in the construction of the plant a total of $16.6 million. OSHA said that it had found a total of 371 safety violations in the construction of the plant, 225 of which it considered deliberate.[27] The Chemical Safety Board released its final report on 28 June 2010.[28] "

Not one person went to jail for this, not one company shut down for good. 16 million - a drop in the bucket of the price of the plant(which then had to be rebuilt again - so more money for the contrators).

THAT IS THE EFFIN CONSPIRACY PEOPLE!!!!
Regulators NOT doing a damn thing.

You cannot just say that

You cannot just say that common sense dictates something with so little evidence to bring forth and something that needs to be studied thoroughly. The day this happened people were already crying missile based on one crappy video. So what if there was a mushroom cloud? I need more evidence to come to a conclusion.

Please come join my forum if you're not a trendy and agree with my points of view.

Common Sense?

"Common sense would dictate that this type of seismic activity and the crater size could have only occurred with the use of a powerful missile or bomb and the video evidence certainly supports it."

Really? So to reach any other conclusion is to lack
"common sense"?

"Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through force of arms."
Ron Paul

This is an excellent example of ridiculous conspiracy crying

The author didn't just say [blank] happened and [blank] was the motivation.

The writer grasped for any plausible explanation and circumstantial evidence he could think of. Monsanto. Anniversary of Oklahoma City. A scheduled hospital drill. FEMA. Then he did irrelevant character smears. Then he tried to bring up Obama's foreign policy.

The only evidence he presented was to put an amateur recording of a massive explosion that happened in a fraction of a fraction of a second in slow motion!

This is a pathetic, sensational and desperate attempt to prove a conspiracy theory no matter how far-fetched. If people read this and STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE LIKE ME ARE SO SICK OF THIS CRYING WOLF AND CHICKEN LITTLE ALARMISM then you are paranoid and delusional.

This is not finding truth. This is not seeking answers. This isn't even asking remotely intelligent questions. It is just freaking ridiculous.

Why am I not surprised that

Why am I not surprised that this post currently is a -3. The number of "everything is a conspiracy" idiots on this site has skyrocketed since the election.

Boy it's really scary isn't it?

All this free-thinking and question-asking? I bet you just wish everyone would accept the "official story" so you can get on with your day huh?

Sheeple!

I'm not saying this is the truth at all. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this post or the questions asked in it. The word is "appears" the author did not say that his/her conclusions are definitive.

So you are either a sheep or a wolf in sheep's clothing.

There is no official story.

But good job, you called me either a sheep or a wolf. That is about the highest level of intellectualism I expect now from you guys who are pushing this alarmist garbage.

I'll make this easy for you- I am a wolf. You caught me.

So as long as it says the word "appears" or "maybe" any speculation is legitimate right? Has there ever been a time when an accusation was too stupid sounding even to you (except the claim that a massive government conspiracy makes no sense)?

What is either tragic or hilarious...

So as long as it says the word "appears" or "maybe" any speculation is legitimate right?

...is that you think this is a "gotcha" question. The answer is absolutely YES. No gotcha involved. Now go look up the definition of the words you're using - specifically "appears."

The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked. That's how stupid people become smart, they aren't afraid to ask "stupid questions."

I'm salivating at the chance to debate someone like yourself. It's so rare.

Your move. (But please go consult a dictionary first)

It 'appears' that

It 'appears' that vinceableworld is a nutjob or troll.

not at all.

not at all.

PROVE IT! #gubmint #nwo #omg

PROVE IT!

#gubmint #nwo #omg #buildaburger

As if you deserve proof?

You're the one who made the claim... it's your burden to prove it.

Contrary to "popular" belief...

....Shit actually DOES happen. No conspiracy required. I actually worked in a similar fertilizer plant in Rock Springs Wyoming many moons ago. The place was a toxic tinder box. Open flame of any sort was highly restricted because, hey, you're working with volatile materials here... Being a SKEPTIC is ok, even applauded by me, James Randi, Penn Jillette and many others, but don't cross the line, please don't cross the line where you start donning the tin foil hat. At least not anywhere near anything or site (hint, hint) referring to "libertarianism" or "liberty movement" or the philosophies endearing to said terms. Though I am not an ardent believer of the phrase "guilt by association" the masses ARE such believers. I certainly won't stop you, post-er of this tripe, from speaking your mind...just please eventually USE your mind. Cheers and thanks for the comic relief...oh and watch out for Monsanto's fleet of fully armed F-16's.

There was no missile dammit!

Do this:

1. Locate the three raw videos of the explosion
2. Locate at bird's eye view of the fertilizer plant on Google Maps
3. Pinpoint the locations of the two camera filming locations
4. On the site plan, notice the tanks surrounding the building
5. In the videos, notice the camera is fixated on the structure fire
6. Evaluate the aftermath photos of the plant after the explosion
7. The flash coming in from outside the video frame is consistent with the location of the tank that blew up. The heat from the structure fire heated up the tanks and they exploded first, outside the frame of camera.
8. Watch the videos of the explosion in real time, with your eyes closed to hear the non-existent hissing sound...I didn't hear anything on the raw videos.
9. Think about how a missile works...it detonates after impact and it doesn't level surrounding buildings, 50-100 yards away
10. It's my opinion that there is no evidence at this time to support anything other than an accident.

The slow motion video clearly shows...

the yellow flash coming from the sky , and moving in a distinct downwards trajectory. If it were a gas tank like you proposed then the flash would've started from the ground, and gone upwards. Or at least had a right to left trajectory. So unless this plant had hovering gas tanks, then I don't see how your theory is anymore credible then the OP.

Question?

"the flash would've started from the ground"

What are you basing that off, or is it speculation?

I think the tank exploded from the top, where it was being heated up, and the metal weakened, though this is also speculation, but I do submit this as evidence:

@ 58 seconds in the slow mo video

you can see the yellow light begin to enter the screen. At this point the sky and treeline are still visible underneath the yellow streak with no gas tank in sight. I've never seen gasoline silos as tall as a factory before. Gas storage that big is usually underground like at gas stations and you would think they'd be extra careful at fertilizer plants and prepare for fires. Lastly the short whistle noise before the explosion is the icing on the cake for me. Not saying you are wrong, but to reject the Original posters view so vehemently was unnecessary.

Vehemently?!

Because I used the word "dammit"?

The rest of my comments under the photo I posted were completely cordial were they not?

Also, regarding your statement, " I've never seen gasoline silos as tall as a factory before. Gas storage that big is usually underground like at gas stations and you would think they'd be extra careful at fertilizer plants and prepare for fires," where did you get the idea that it was a "gasoline" tank?

I distinguished between tanks and silos in my post, but you seem to be mixing them up.

If there WAS a hissing sound, it would be in all three videos. I don't believe that is the case. Watching in slow motion is the problem. Watch the RAW videos in real time, but close your eyes and just wait and listen.

Did you see this video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrlFTlzprKI&feature=player_de... The slow motion does show a blast to the left. I am not saying it is a missle or bomb and I do not agree with all he says. BUT obviously there was a second blast that seems a long ways from the original one.

No need to swear.

Thank you for posting this explanation. "Something" obviously came from the left side of the photo. It looked to me like a fireball, not a missile, but those who just scream "You're crazy" at me for seeing something are not really doing anything to further the search for truth. Posting the explanation does, thanks.

My apologies!

Posting a thought out explanation was my intention, not ridiculing anyone for being skeptical. Please continue with your DIY-CSI (dysy)!

Looks photoshopped to

Looks photoshopped to me...

What are those green lines and circles...=D

A more plausible explanation-

Pressurized ammonia is some pretty nasty stuff, especially when a B.L.E.V.E. occurs.

I guess you'll see what you want to see, I don't buy that this was some 'conspiracy' event.

Chooo choooo

All aboard the crazy train, next stop Willoughby.

I'd like to cordially invite you to

go have loving, tender, intercourse with yourself. If you had not noticed, this country IS a crazy train these days, and that is NOT the fault of people asking questions.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

lol....

lol....

well..

When we start interpreting noises as a missile strike. If you're going to question the fertilizer plant as a conspiracy i'd start with "Why did they have 540,000 pounds (270 tons) of ammonium nitrate when the DHS must be informed if they have over 400? That's 100 times the amount used in the Oklahoma City bombing"

It isn't the fault of the people to ask questions, it's their job. It's also the job of the media to be the fourth branch of checks and balances, not the fourth branch of disinformation and control. THAT is why the country is on the crazy train my friend. I was hoping someone would point out The Twilight Zone reference too.

Minus 1

Blah.

An admission...

I want to apologize. I have been chewing up my own people over this whole fertilizer plant issue. A missile to me, doesn't make sense logically.

Even though I still don't believe the plant in Texas was hit by a missile... I will admit that I have seen some compelling evidence to the contrary.

I admit that the similarities between the explosion in West and the sounds that a JDAM missile makes are eerily similar. Not enough for me to conclude that it actually happened, but it's compelling.

That being said, I apologize to fellow "conspiracy theorists" for the attacks. I am now taking a step back from this and willing to concede that perhaps the "conspiratards" (as I referred to them) are on to something here.

I still want more information though, before I conclude that this plant was intentionally blown.

A theory I am throwing around in my head, is that this event took place pretty close to the anniversary of the OKC Bombings, in which fertilizer WAS used. What if there were large amounts of fertilizer stolen from the plant, and blown as a means to cover up their tracks. It's just a theory at this point....
