Brass-Plated Gold?

Would it make sense to plate a solid gold chain with brass and wear it around the neck?

A good way to secure wealth in a form that appears to have no value,

an exercise in weirdipity?

Please excuse my logic. I'm Polish. The first time one of our people won an olympic gold medal we had it bronzed.

Doesn't sound so dumb in retrospect.

covering gold with another metal

look ahead to how easy or hard the covering metal can be removed. I think this would be the deciding factor for what type of covering best used.

It's so hard...

it's simple...

Hidden in plain site? That's one way.

Your English is better than my Polish.

I can count to ten, but not read any.

Grandparents from Krakaow, Joslo, and Danzig about 1905.

Skąd jesteś?

Great question for a metallurgist!

I'm not wise in the subject but I've been pondering similar solutions to get precious metals out of the country without detection....I've thought about using silver bullion as a belt buckle or swapping steel toe boots with 'silver toe boots' .... I don't know if the day will ever come but if it did, how do I get ME, my FAMILY, and my PM's out of the country undetected? You may be on to something.

Reminds me of my dad's friend.

Back in 1980, he bought a 1000 oz silver bar near the peak price. Instead of placing it in the big safe in his house, he painted it flat black and used it as a door stop.

Hidden in plain view.

Genius. I love it.

"Please excuse my logic. I'm Polish."

Oh, that explains it.

Want your gold protected? Buy a safe and/or firearm. Or a shovel!

A signature used to be here!

I think it is creative

and would accomplish your goal of hiding/protecting your gold. Then again, I have a poll (to be precise it is an eye-bolt) attached to a shoelace which is tied to a support beam on my deck that slides in vertically through a hole on my deck's ledge and into a hole in my gate which together act as the locking mechanism so the wind (or dog) cannot open it. People have been known to call it a "pollock."

#I'm Polish too =P~

I can see how that would work.

Not too sophisticated, but effective.
