Cops murder innocent man raiding wrong house in failed drug war - get paid vacation in return

A 61-year-old man was shot to death by police while his wife was handcuffed in another room during a drug raid on the wrong house.

Police admitted their mistake, saying faulty information from a drug informant contributed to the death of John Adams Wednesday night. They intended to raid the home next door.

The two officers, 25-year-old Kyle Shedran and 24-year-old Greg Day, were placed on administrative leave with pay.

“They need to get rid of those men, boys with toys,” said Adams’ 70-year-old widow, Loraine.

John Adams was watching television when his wife heard pounding on the door. Police claim they identified themselves and wore police jackets. Loraine Adams said she had no indication the men were police.

“I thought it was a home invasion. I said ‘Baby, get your gun!,” she said, sitting amid friends and relatives gathered at her home to cook and prepare for Sunday’s funeral.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I did a little digging, turns out this is an old story. An I can answer my own question in my reply below: No, the town did nothing. Worse than nothing:
"A jury failed to find the officer in charge of the botched raid that killed John Adams guilty of any wrongdoing. The city of Lebanon did pay the family a $400,000 civil settlement."

So, ten years later...
"As the officers approached the vehicle, McKinnley slipped and his firearm went off. Officer Mitch McDannald thought the gunfire came from the suspect and he returned fire, fatally wounding Thompson."

Now, I'm going to go see how "the justice system" worked out this time... but I think I know. BRB

Here we go: Full, sick story, complete with sleazy lawyer slandering him before his corpse was cold, and a Big Pig telling us how sad it is FOR THE COPS. Still looking for the settlement.

Can't find any settlement, but it turns out the cop who shot the kid wound up arrested for domestic assault and.... you know it.... put on paid leave.

Greg Thompson was my quarterback in high school

He was a darn good one too.

I linked the same story below, the story in the OP is over ten years old and has already been shared here more than once.

The individual who refuses to defend his rights when called by his Government, deserves to be a slave, and must be punished as an enemy of his country and friend to her foe. - Andrew Jackson

Will the town rally around the widow?

Will there be a community cry of outrage, a demand that such wanton murder be stopped?
No, there will not.
Most of us have read that last couple lines at the end of the Declaration and teared up, meant it with all our heart. But here is the truth: When they come for me, none of you will say a word, you probably will not even notice, unless they decide to make me a famous patsy. When they come for you, I will probably not even notice, unless they decide to make you a famous patsy.
Is it lost on EVERYONE that they just murdered a gun owner? No questions asked?

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

I don't get it

with the PD, SD, ATF, DHS, FBI, DEA, NSA, ad naseum.... Why can't they get a damn address right?

When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign: that the dunces are all in confederacy against him. ~J. Swift

Too bad they did not have a drone!

Then they could have blown the woman away too, planted a little evidence on the old couple and those fine officers would be on the beat today.
A nasty neighbor made a bogus call to the cops - "I think my neighbor is getting beat by her husband." The rest is eerily similar.... She saw heavily armed thugs in their field and opened the door for a better look - only to be grabbed by a thug, dragged from her home and pulled around the back of a shed. Her husband was then ordered out of the house, hands up, and he complied. They put a gun to his head and ordered him to his knees. Repeated requests to know why they were there were met with orders to "Shut up." Here, let Bear tell you about his morning:

I had not talked to them in several months, had been off the internet all summer. I log back on, and "catch up with old friends" like this:

Oh, and no attorney will help them. They have had seven of them take the case, then find out that these innocent people were not hurt badly enough for them to cash in, so they drop the case.

The benefits to legalize drugs far out ways it's cons

The pros to legalize drugs:
1. It will hurt terrorist and the drug cartel, and cigarette companies.
2. It will gain government revenue.
3. It will free up the prisons for real criminals.
4. Law enforcement will be free to pursue violent criminals.
5. Since it's legal, people might not want to do it.

1. I can't think of any, can you?

#2 looks like a con to me, if you're talking about new taxes

Perhaps you meant it would free up revenue currently being spent wasted in the war on drugs.

I'll grant you they won't miss a chance to attempt to raise taxes, but if they're not taxing me on the weeds in my front yard, why should they start taxing me on the weed in my backyard?

But if we legalize drugs,

But if we legalize drugs, then everyone will run out and snort coke or shoot up! Because that is really what they wanted to do!!!!1!!

Old news... Indeed, seemingly. No consolation.

The fact this is old news is no consolation, quite the opposite, see for yourself, folks:

Death penalty needed for these two cops.

Or vigilante justice.

We're running out of time, and we cannot trust government / police to police their own.

What would the Founders do?

something should

be done to the two officers of course. But, there should be something done to the chief of police for this happening. It was under his watch that this took place. He was in charge. Sends out the orders. He should be a slave to that woman for the rest of his life!

It's time! Rand Paul 2016!

The victim's younger relative was killed in a similar way

That story is over 10 years old but somehow keeps popping up here, there and everywhere on the web. My very first comment on this website was on the same story posted here http://www.dailypaul.com/256836/man#comment-2766253

I grew up near Lebanon, and the LPD wrongfully killed my high school quarterback three years ago in a tragic accident. Here's that story, http://www.newschannel5.com/global/story.asp?s=12389209

The Law Perverted, the Law turned into something else...

The predictable and predicted consequence of the Law perverted.

When the Law has ceased to be Justice and only Justice... to be turned into something else:

whatever the plunderers, thieves, liars, hypocrites, bullies ruling over the people, have deemed "good" TO FORCE onto the people.

That's right... I am applying collectivist thinking about a collective, which just can't cease to call, praise, and admire itself all day long, all over the place on this planet :

The collective of Big Government and its special interests at war against liberty, peace, prosperity.

The ugly collective at war against the peoples, against their lives, or against anything else which ought to remain rightfully their own.

The collective at war against every single individual.

R.I.P. Justice.

Sue the pigs personally $1 billion and all their property.

Warrantless violations of privacy. Invasion of property. Wrongful death.

Make a Federal case. Make them think twice about whether they are mistaken. Make it sting.

I suspect that the man would have be justified in putting a .45 right between his eyes. With no warrant the cop is just a common criminal.

theres the police state

in action, complete with no knock raids (as its safer for them)
now lets give these same types armed drones
immunity and aid leave, all at the victims expense

If we deny truth before your very eyes, then the rest of what we have to say,is of little consequence

Absolutely sickening.This

Absolutely sickening.

This is the militarization of the police in all its glory. Notwithstanding the illegitimacy of the war on drugs, they can't serve a warrant in a driveway or at work or during the daylight when the suspect is walking down a street. Nope! Have to use those really cool gadgets and weapons and vests to look super awesome storming into a home so we can be heroes!

Or murderers. You know, cuz, whatever.

We're in state issued costumes!

Getting away with murder.

Governments have killed 260 million last century.

It's what the do, they are not good for anything else.
