NEWSFLASH: Rand Paul is Awesome and is our best politician and the best presidential candidate!

Who do you know that you agree with 100%? Probably no one including your closest friends and family. So you can't expect to agree across the board with Rand Paul either.

But man, Rand is an excellent man to have in the US Senate. He has true, real self-confidence, and charisma and humor that can charm audience members from all different spectrums.

He's a real activist in the Senate, and in society. Filibustering against drones, standing up to the establishment leaders, being critical of foreign policy.

Why complain about a few mistakes he has made, or misspoken words? I swear, sometimes liberty fans that criticize Rand would only be satisfied if he was a direct clone that walked, talked, and danced like Ron Paul.

Let's keep our allies when we have them. Rand is our ally!! Don't be blind that you can't see that! Don't shoot ourselves in the foot!

Rand isn't burning his bridges either. He's not shooting himself in the foot. He actually has character and principles that he lives by, as can be seen when he expresses himself and the actions he takes. He's not making enemies in Washington. He's employing real genuine social skills and personal relations with all his colleagues.

It's about time we started relating to each other in a positive and authentic way! Interact with those we disagree with, and practice understanding them on a more deeper level, so they can understand us. And we can always learn something from others, even if they're socialists or globalists!

So nice job Rand. Way to bring a genuinely principled approach to politics in Washington. I am very proud that you are representing us in Congress. With your leadership, the United States of America will once again have a political culture and system comprised of discourse that entails truly respect, cooperation, and civility.

So please, take off your blinders (once again), SUPPORT RAND, and let's make American the country that we know it can be.

Senator Rand Paul is a

Senator Rand Paul is a Multilevel Chess Master. The moves he makes are extremely difficult to anticipate and the desired effect always productive. He's definitely not playing checkers.

For some it's the gay marriage issue...

...and for others it's the abortion issue. But for many it's on social grounds as to why they don't like Rand.

There are some people who pretend to be and may even believe they're Libertarians but in reality are liberals who'd love for government to sanction gay marriage and/or do not want to see Roe v. Wade overturned and sent back to the states. These pretend Libertarians will nitpick things about Rand to try to sway others from supporting him.

I haven't seen that mentioned yet; so I thought I'd bring it up.

it's real simple

you either support a peaceful transition to a voluntary based society (starts with rand paul 2016) or you support not voting or not doing anything which will lead to a violent revolution. i'm gonna give the most peaceful solution a chance and if that does not work then we can try something else.

Except it's not so simple

The either/or scenario you present is a false one, much like "you're either with us or you're with the terrorists".

Just because someone doesn't support Rand (for whatever reason), doesn't mean they don't support voting and want a violent revolution. That's ridiculous.

But hey, while we're on the subject of voting, are more people actually going to get serious about getting rid of the easily hackable Diebold machines next go-around? because if not, then "he who counts the votes" will decide, not "he who votes".

Until that happens, I'll stick with local elections.

A signature used to be here!

Can It Be All So Simple

i'm not saying you "want a violent revolution" i'm saying that is what your actions or lack thereof will lead to, no?

i somewhat agree with your diebold comments and would like to see a paper trail. that is why it is so important that everyone get on the same page and have rand win overwhelmingly so there can be no voting shenanigans.

rand looks like our last chance to educate the masses and save the country from going into a full blown socialist authoritarian nanny state. we're well on our way now.

Rand Paul? The Rand Paul being financed by Karl Rove?

You mean THAT Rand Paul?

"We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors ... and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

You people are like lambs to the slaughter. When will you realize that NO POLITICIAN OR GROUP OF POLITICIANS will save you? Defend freedom YOURSELF or get out of the way.

At some point though,

At some point though, politicians must be able to help us... our numbers are growing in the Senate and the House. And if that's not enough, then I guess it's "those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable." I just don't see how that can end in anything other than complete devastation.

No need for violence. Just peaceful noncompliance.

As for "voting"...

"I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this — who will count the votes, and how."
-Joseph Stalin

Do yourself a favor and watch the HBO documentary, "Hacking Democracy" and you'll see that America has taken Stalin's message to heart. You won't regret learning how voting really works.

I find it utterly incomprehensible why people here still believe "voting" is the answer. Do people not remember the widespread election fraud we faced just last year?

Are there more Liberty-minded individuals in government today than ten years ago? Certainly. Are there enough to do anything about the tyranny we now face? Of course not. There never will be. The Rand Pauls of the world are simply tokens; mere distractions to appease the rising tide of Libertarians.

Be easy on them.

Most are still waiting for a man to float down on the clouds to save them. There is still a huge disconnect between the liberty movement and what is real in the universe. The only reason I come here anymore is to grab some milk to help other babes start to wake up on my local message board.

they’d make it illegal.”

Forget Rand Paul. Forget the ballot box. Electoral politics is inherently fraudulent. Elected officials don’t run the government. Electoral politics is a scam, designed to wear people out, supporting candidates who lie and intend to break their promises or who tell the truth and will be defeated or who, if elected, will be marginalized or met with an “accident” or decide to commit “suicide.”

Every election cycle, people come up with the same “support the good guys” concept, just as you have done, and every time it fails. It is designed to fail, by keeping people spinning their wheels, wasting their energy, in pursuit of a chimera.

We don’t elect the heads of federal agencies like FEMA, USDA, DHS, FDA, and CIA. We don’t elect the CEOs and the boards of corporations. We don’t elect the Chairman and the board of the FED. We don’t elect the members of the Supreme Court. We don’t elect the officials of AIPAC. “Our” bought and paid for (and blackmailed) elected government (including Rand) only goes through the motions of governing.

At some point, people are going to have to realize that the powerful don’t relinquish their power voluntarily, and that they are beyond the reach of the ballot box. The peaceful alternatives were long ago exhausted. There will be no political solutions until there is a purge of the those with divided loyalties from all three branches of government.

With virtually no one watching and being brainwashed by mainstream media TV anymore, I think that game is changing.

He's clever and made some strategic manurers. So he's also made a few gaffes. Actions speak louder than words and I mostly like what I see him doing.

Let's get behind (insert name of major party candidate) because that is our best chance to beat (insert name of major party candidate). If you don't support (insert name), it is the same as supporting (insert name). If you really want to support (insert liberal or conservative) values, then (major party candidate) is your only choice. Yeah!! I will support (insert name), and I am glad that I live in a (insert red or blue) state!!

So much for "it's the message not the man". Might as well call this the Daily Rand.

Some things he...

has said have upset me, but I am praying that he is just as "radical" as his father and is only "playing the game" to get things moving in the right direction. He could very well be even "more radical" than his father, but who knows.

I do believe that he has the best shot at winning the presidency. If that were to happen, no matter what his "true beliefs" might be, you can be sure that things will be much much better than they have been in quite some time. He could/would be the springboard to pure liberty.

having said all of that, if someone better comes around, they will have my support but that is not going to happen IMO.

Rand is playing politics.

He's positioning himself in the ring. He's a smart guy and while we may get pissed off when he goes a bit Bill Kristol on a comment, there is an underlying reason for it. Rand is a brilliant politician. If you can't see that, you're missing the point. Rand knows that the bully pulpit of the Presidency is what will be needed to have a sounding board to mainstream austrian economics and to reiterate that the constitution is actually the law. Lets face it, while we know Ron is a great guy and has a huge heart, his strategy worked incredibly well at gaining grassroots momentum, but it was not enough to overcome the cheats in the GOP, and the press made him look like a loon. Ron is not a good politician, but a great statesman. I think Rand has the cards, as the talk radio heads sing his praises most of the time, and he's positioned himself not to look weak to the neocon electorate. Only time will tell, but if we don't have a Rand Paul type as president in the next eight years, it truly time to throw in the towel on this country and our children's future.

You mean...

He's playing politics just like Obama did to get elected. He dropped keywords and insinuated that he was going to do things without actually providing any hard evidence that he would. I wish you could see how ridiculous it sounds when you chant the mantra "stand with Rand". This is the same exact blind support that got Obama elected.

These comments like "Rand is our best hope for freedom", scare the hell out of me, because it reminds me of the same unconditional support that the liberals gave Obama back in 2008. It doesn't matter what he's actually going to do, you just want to vote for him because you like his image.

The only image I have of Rand Paul is him giving the proverbial finger to his father's supporters during the 2012 primary. Am I the only one remembers him walking down the street coldly refusing to answer and questions from journalists? Since when is this behavior acceptable of a "liberty candidate"?

Here is my problem

Here is my problem with Rand: For the second time, he has made a momentum killing statement. The first was when he endorsed Romney on the Hannity Show. Now, his confusing statement on drones. just when the senate judiciary committee is having a hearing on targeting killing and drone strikes.

So he got the ball rolling with his admirable filibuster (I even sent him a contribution for that one). I felt better about him - I thought that I could see what he really believes in. Then, he somehow couldn't make that Judiciary Hearing on Tuesday afternoon. Okay...let's give him the benefit if the doubt. Then, first thing i see on Drudge Wednesday morning is the headline that Rand endorses drones and the resultant controversy all over the place. A pattern is developing where for whatever reason, whenever momentum for liberty builds, we have to worry about Rand killing it.

Vickie

I think his words were taken out of context

and that is what the media tried to do to Ron Paul all the time. Forget the media.

I heard what Rand said about the drones, and he also said they should be used only when necessary and not as a means of constant surveillance of all of us. Let them be dragged out and used to track someone with a gun who is actually committing a crime and threatening to harm others. Even this needs tight restrictions.

It is bad enough the media makes a bid deal out of words taken out of context without us doing it here.

NEWSFLASH, He's bought off.
