They are...sort of like a time capsule. They were renegade then and I would imagine still are. Very hippy commune type stuff but definitely a statement against abuse by police and abuse toward American Indians. A message of pacifism on one side and also the symbol of a super protector Billy Jack who can fight back.
There were three movies if I remember. Haven't seen them in a good long while.
I believe it was 1967. It was the hippies against the establishment back then. Back then the liberals wanted to stop the viet nam war and use drugs. Now they want more free stuff, more war, and less freedom.
Holding hands with the incomparable L.L. on my first date, ever. I don't remember a lot of the movie, but the song and the hand holding were unforgetable.
