Matlock...

coming out of retirement to kick some a$$ and take some names. Government spending is the problem. Boom, case closed.

Good point but...

I understand his point, and it's a good one, but those numbers aren't exactly true. Total government spending is roughly $6 trillion while total income in the USA is north of twice that.

And the answer to the question is 10-15% of your income should go to taxes. 15-20% to charity. 15-20% to retirement. The rest on your daily expenses and savings. Today we are at roughly 40% of GDP being government spending and we have nothing to show for it.

The People

The People of Iceland put the bankers in prison.

If trial by jury were to actually work in America...

At least save each other?

WOW! - WHAT A POST!

This guy nails it.

Very worthy of front page.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

IMO

All taxation is unethically premised on anti-voluntary coercion and should be abolished

agreed.

and I would ad that it need not be. Think of all the services we already buy voluntarily and at market value.

It is a tricky concept disguised with government mumbo jumbo

But, Mr Day sees through the media fog.

Our effective tax rate is 122% and rising.

Congress sets a tax rate and pretends to raise and lower it, but the effective tax rate goes up every year.

Congress has borrowed 8% of each year's money supply, every year for 99 years.

Taxes we've paid have only paid the interest, every year for 99 years.

The US Congress is running the biggest scam in history. During that time the Soviet Union ran the second biggest scam in history.

And that's the rest of the story.

Free includes debt-free!

Ez

I think I know

what I don't know is, what would I pay on the open market for the 'services' I supposedly get from the gunvernment?

If the answer is - not much - then I'm paying way too much in taxes.
