In Dirty Wars, Jeremy Scahill, author of the New York Times best-seller Blackwater, takes us inside America’s new covert wars. The foot soldiers in these battles operate globally and inside the United States with orders from the White House to do whatever is necessary to hunt down, capture or kill individuals designated by the president as enemies.

Drawn from the ranks of the Navy SEALs, Delta Force, former Blackwater and other private security contractors, the CIA’s Special Activities Division and the Joint Special Operations Command ( JSOC), these elite soldiers operate worldwide, with thousands of secret commandos working in more than one hundred countries. Funded through “black budgets,” Special Operations Forces conduct missions in denied areas, engage in targeted killings, snatch and grab individuals and direct drone, AC-130 and cruise missile strikes. While the Bush administration deployed these ghost militias, President Barack Obama has expanded their operations and given them new scope and legitimacy.

Dirty Wars follows the consequences of the declaration that “the world is a battlefield,” as Scahill uncovers the most important foreign policy story of our time. From Afghanistan to Yemen, Somalia and beyond, Scahill reports from the frontlines in this high-stakes investigation and explores the depths of America’s global killing machine. He goes beneath the surface of these covert wars, conducted in the shadows, outside the range of the press, without effective congressional oversight or public debate. And, based on unprecedented access, Scahill tells the chilling story of an American citizen marked for assassination by his own government.

As US leaders draw the country deeper into conflicts across the globe, setting the world stage for enormous destabilization and blowback, Americans are not only at greater risk—we are changing as a nation. Scahill unmasks the shadow warriors who prosecute these secret wars and puts a human face on the casualties of unaccountable violence that is now official policy: victims of night raids, secret prisons, cruise missile attacks and drone strikes, and whole classes of people branded as “suspected militants.” Through his brave reporting, Scahill exposes the true nature of the dirty wars the United States government struggles to keep hidden.

Here he is on Morning Joe talking about U.S. outsourcing torture

Mods have to embed video from msnbc. This was a really good interview. The blond ladies don't like him talking smack about Obombya.

thanks Ralph!

Checked it out; was good stuff.

Though, the murderous warcriminal Zbieggie's daughter Mika creeps me the fcuk out.

Granted, no 'paying for the sins of the father,' and all that jazz...as in children of the King's Courtiers of yore, but really, it's hard not to see her as a generational courtier and as a continuation of her dad's murderous foreign policy mouthpiece, when...she is second generation courtier propagandist for the WarMachine, and is the continuation of her dad's Rothschild/Rockefeller-CFR-TriLateral Commission sanctioned foreign policy.

just sayin'

lol...er... .o(

And, every time I see Scarborough on the boob-tube, I have an urge to confront him with: "Um, hey, RINO motherfcucker. Don't you have a dead intern found at your FL campaign office that you still never answered for??"

MSM panels, truly a despicable guild of generationally degenerate aberrant bio-matters. Yuckity Yuck Yuck!

He did all the news show rounds last week promoting his

book...except for FOX News channel. He was very good and almost all of the interviewers were left kind of speechless to what he had to say...like they knew he wouldn't ever be back on their programs again.

thanks,

I'll check if Moxy's got some updates, aside from this one:

http://youtu.be/4yjFGoVUckE

seeing as how his book literally came out a few days ago, I suspect he'd be making more rounds for his book tour.

I just hope one of these days Jeremy finally grows out of the whole-'I'll never cover the real questions behind 9/11!'

Hell, even NDAA suing Chris Hedges came on the Alex Jones show, yet Jeremy has publicly ridiculed AJ and the notion of going on his show. pretty shortsighted, IMO.

otherwise, you'd have seen him team up with Sibel Edmonds, long ago.

Still, despite Scahill's partisan shortcomings, but as far as mainstream criticism of the continuation of GWB warcrimes abroad and domestic policestate at home, he along with Glenn Greenwald, and John Nichols, who like Scahill, also writes for the commie Kristina Van Den Heuval-owned Nation Mag, have always been principally consistent in their critique of oBUSHma, post-GWB regime, continuing and expanding every single one of GWB's crimes.

but, for some reason, John Nichols almost always went out of his way to part with his fellow liberals and put Dr. Paul and his proposed policies in proper context; I always appreciated his fair (as fair as MSM can be) treatment of Dr. Paul and us.

As for the book, I was at Barnes and Noble and sped read through the whole book. I was hoping to get a bit more inside scoop on the nature of JSOC, but it's nothing I wasn't already familiar with. But as far as internal policies, powerplays within the bowels of the national security state, particularly illustrating just how we as a nation went from always denying political assassinations, not to mention an executive order expressly prohibiting anyone in/under US govt from committing political assassinations, to openly joking about "Terror Tuesdays," "signature strikes" "double-tapping" to a-hole joking about how he's got a fleet of drones on standby, if one of his daughters brings home a douche he doesn't approve of.

my my, as the ad goes: you've come a long way baby!

Scahill's new book really hones in on the all the surrounding decisions, policies, and aberration that led to the murders of Awlaki his son and their relative, in particular.

Powerful book. Definitely a must read.

The only real question remaining is, what will really come out of this book. If we lived in a truly fair universe, 9/11 criminals would've already had their Nuremberg 2.0 tribunals, yet these fcuckers in CONgress can barely be inspired to try the govt terrorists for the ever partisan touted Fast and Furious. If the entire GOP establishment and even RINOS are on the same page about oBUSHma and Holder's direct culpability and will most likely NEVER consider ever impeaching, or trying him, doubt anything's gonna come of Scahill's book, unfortunately.

but who knows... miracles can happen... I think...LOL...er... .o(
