What I would like to see more of here on the DP

Sometimes I look at the Top Forum Topics on the DP and it reads like people said, "Oh, here's some bad news - I'll go post it on the Daily Paul!"

What I would like to see more of is:

News about what you're doing - in your garden, on your farm, at your GOP / Libertarian / Democratic Party meeting, what your kids are learning, what you're learning, what you heard at the grocery store, what you observed in your neighborhood. Not just bad stuff - good stuff too!

What I'd like to see less of is:

Regurgitation of MSM propaganda. I know - I'm guilty of it too. It seems to be the rage of the blogs these days - regurgitate MSM and make some pithy comments.

Funck that. Listen to Terrance McKenna, and take what he says to heart.

This is one of my favorite YouTubes. Indulge in the "felt presence of direct experience." In other words, stop consuming culture and start creating it. Be the change. Create the world you want to live in. Create it not for us, but create it for yourself. Feel free to share it with us.

Thank you and Love. Love to you all.

The best is yet to come, and you are going to create it.

If not you, then who?

I build a cold frame today

I have some seedling kale, broccoli, kohlrabi, spinach, chard, and radishes going. This will be my first experiment with fall/winter gardening. I will try to post some pics.

I started taking art lessons from a wonderful local artist!

I'm so excited about it! =) Working with oils first.

I've wanted to take lessons from this lady for more than 10 years - since her husband showed me her photo album. She is extremely talented. Don't know what held me back but a new friend takes lessons from her and has since '92. She encouraged me to join the group, and I did! I'm so glad I'm doing this.

Positive thought/movement feels so good!

I would love to see less Onion news or none at all.

If Chris Cudowski posts anymore onion please ban him for life.

I'd like to see more Conspiracy movies on here too.

Yeah - I know what you're saying - it gets old quick.

For those who don't know what an 'onion' video is, here is an example:

Defeat the panda-industrial complex

I am dusk icon. anagram me.

This evening I'm making about a hundred 'gel' candles...

This week I will go out and sell them around all the bars where I am known as 'the Candle Guy', 'Candleman', or, most affectionately, 'Mandles', on account of the manly-scented candles I've made in manly odors like leather jacket, odor neutralizer, cool waters, and beer (not a great seller - they smelled like warm beer.)

What I'm trying to say is,

Defeat the panda-industrial complex

I am dusk icon. anagram me.

LOL! =)

I avoided reading this post until now

I'm not sure exactly why but maybe because I've heard the rumors about the end of the DP and I didn't want to read something that somehow confirmed it. However, I loved this post Michael. I mean, I absolutely do post the negative stuff I find on here and I think it's extremely important for everyone to continue to do so. I think it's important to find a place where real information (however bad it is) is consolidated in one place. However, I fully agree that we need to also start creating rather than consuming. And that needs to be an active part of the DP. That one user - named something like "Musicians and (something)" - has very interesting posts like that.

Michael, you and many family members here have

inspired me more than any of you know( Many Thanks to Jefferson). Hell, back in 2010 you all convinced me to take a chance. In 2011, my partner and I bought a dealership. 2012, as I told my partner I could payoff the debt in 18 months I got 1/2 paid in 9.

Then we move locations and purchased another 4 franchises. It looks good for the business. Sometimes we must look beyond the negativity. Ron has told us that the end is near. I do really belive that is the case. I just happen to think it is a few more years away.

Negativity is to the detriment of EVERYONE here at the DP!

I am prospering when most are not. Will it last? I really don't know but, I purchase as it will not, but sell as it is a new beginning.

NOW most of you know my many years here as BMWJIM, JIMR1150GS and just as Jim Whitehead. I am a BMW biker, NOVICE gardener and ZEN (kick back and read a book in the greenhouse in winter smelling the soil) Gardener(Self registered, Lol!) that loves the soil, paved roads, and most every person I have ever met.

Seriously, I have been helped here on the DP throughout my wifes cancer, good times and bad and nothing but LOVE came out of it.

As many of you know, I will be at the Spring Festival in Mansfield, MO next Sunday and Monday learning everything our Geat Grandparents knew. Come see me if you recognize me. (Just a hint, S1000RR). Would love to meet you. I am trying to bring back helping your neighbors and friends.

Sorry for rambling Michael. Had a couple glasses of wine and as you know, TRUTH spouts from the grape that has been distilled. LOL!

Your "lead by example" gardening threads and seed bank ideas have been an inspiration to me as well. Not to mention how you've stood by and supported your wife through something that many people (including myself) couldn't fathom.
I've felt a special kinship since cancer has taken a few of my friends' family members. (one just as recently as last week) It almost took my best friend's brother a couple of years ago. I've also felt a certain kinship because we are both "cultivators." You work hard, take risks and pay/make your own way. I can tell you're a survivor. Looking forward to some of that homemade Boudin sausage sometime. Much respect.

I am a major offender as far

I am a major offender as far as posting news that I come across, but I'd love to devote more free time towards original material. I have a few ideas up my sleeve. Good to hear the DP is still going strong, and I love the push to embrace positivity. :) Though I may be reserved on this site, I rarely miss a day.

Don't think of yourself as an offender

The bad news posts are critical in my opinion. I think (and I hope I'm not putting words into Michael's mouth) that Michael just means "we also need positive posts". In other words, not exclusively positive posts.

There's a saying about "Want in one hand...." lol!

We are what we are, and here at the DP, we are suckers for the catchy headlines. The replies in this thread indicate there are a lot of people who post original stuff, and it just does not get commented on. I've been so excited about this, I though I would pop:
Not a word.... Oh well, so it goes. Perhaps it is at least a good time to realize that even people like me who spend a lot of time commenting really are "in the trenches" in our own way, too.

what is the saying?

Liberty = Responsibility

I thought everyone knew it!

"Want in one hand, $#!t in the other, see which fills up first."

To be honest,

To be honest, I have been pulling away from DP because of all the negativity.

Dwelling in all the anger and corruption and suspicion... it's just toxic. I don't need that in my life. My "boring" non-political existence is stressful enough as it is.

I'd like to see some more positive articles on here. I'd like this site to be my retreat, not more bad news.

This is what I've been doing, Michael

Dear Libera_me,

Yes, I believe your post is exceptionally worthwhile. My hubby and I memorized the BOR word for blessed word. It was a daunting task, so I set the words to music: think School House Rock. That was over a decade ago, when folks thought we were odd balls for caring to learn the words to this archaic document. Our sons, 8 and 11, now know most of the words, just by hearing me singing them repeatedly. Lucky homeschool boys.

We posted a novice recording of the music at www.archive.org in 2002. Search: The Bill of Rights Band
All 10 Amendments won't take but a half hour to hear start to finish. The arrangements are not exactly easy listening, but we did our best.

I've since recorded updated versions of the music that are considerably more appealing, utilizing guitar, percussion and harmony vocals. I'd be honored to share these with you....or with anyone who cares to listen. I can send them out as mp3 files attached to an email. So far I've struck out trying to post music on the DP. Perhaps this thread from the moderator Mr. Nystrom will further motivate me to sort out how to get the music out there. I choose not to facebook, and am far from web savvy.

This music is looking for a break - (hah! these amendments are looking for a break!). We always thought the project would take off. Admittedly, the lyrics can be heavy, but once you open up to them in song, you'll never forget them. Singing the words to the Bill of Rights engages both the heart and the mind....a moving experience, I highly recommend.

Thanks for learning the words by heart.

Thanks Michael!!

My husband & I are hosting constitution classes in our home via John Birch Society dvd's. They are awesome dvd's. We are meeting new friends on our side of the fence and ones not so much!! :) But it's been fun and we're finally getting into spring here in South Dakota (thank you God!!) That's about it for now.

Here you go Michael!

Be the change you want to see in the world!

Love it! Thanks for sharing! I'm going to share something too, for what its worth. I started a new job, and the job takes me all of the country. I feel very blessed. Last week I was in California. I drove down US 1 along the beach, and also watched the seals being "seally" at Pier 39 in San Francisco. It was the highlight of my week / month / year etc. I saw some hope amongst the winos in Pelosi-ville, via the "Dont steal the government hates competition" bumper sticker amongst all the Obama 2012 ones. :)

As cheesy as it sounds, never forget to stop and smell the flowers & enjoy the scenery along the way. Natures is so much more awesome than anything on tv.

MMmmmm...The force is quasi-psuedo-semi-strong with this one ;)

I do agree.

There is far too much focus on the negative lately.
While it could be said this is because there is indeed SO MUCH negative happening as of late.
It still does not help us, but rather bogs us down in worry, fear, and a sense of helplessness.
This is what the powers that be want...for us to be shackled to the weights of doubt, and fear.
These shackles are undone when we forge ahead and focus on the positive, the commendable; the good.
While we can not have blinders and be ignorant of the bad; it must be recognized. But...we must not dwell there.

What is psuedo?

I see this word a lot nowadays. Is it fake suede? Like the "pleather" that was popular a few years ago?

Drain the swamp!

You know what a Nauga is?

It's a little rodent, the kind that run under your tires. It takes about a thousand of them to make a Naugahyde chair. My buddy from Arkansas taught me that.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

Is psuedo-leather.

But don't take the title seriously. ;)

This misspelling has been a pet peeve of mine

I think you mean "pseudo".
