Uncle Sam Expects You To Keep Hens and Raise Chickens !

This is a flier put out in 1917. Hemp for victory, and chickens for change!

Good to know I'm doing my "Patriotic Duty."

Don't end up like the "Chicken man" in Roswell, GA

An innocent man who had legally been raising a few dozen chickens and other small birds in the backyard of his suburban Atlanta home is now dead, following a crusade of terror perpetrated against him by the City of Roswell in Georgia. Andrew Wordes, who died during a recent raid on his property in which county marshals tried to illegally evict him, was the obvious victim of a rogue state gone mad -- and his blood is now on the hands of the Roswell City Administrator, the Roswell City Council, and the Roswell Police Department, all of which robbed from Wordes his property, his livelihood, and ultimately his life.

Nevertheless, the truth must

Nevertheless, the truth must come out about this case, and those involved in perpetrating it brought to justice. And this, of course, will start with a full investigation into the dealings of Roswell City Administrator Kay G. Love (http://www.roswellgov.com/Directory.aspx?EID=3), Roswell City councilmember Becky Wynn (http://www.roswellgov.com/directory.aspx?EID=6), Roswell City councilmember Rich Dippolito (http://richforroswell.com/about-rich.php), and Roswell Code Enforcement Supervisor Vicki Barclay (http://www.roswellgov.com/index.aspx?NID=94), as well as Roswell city attorneys and the Roswell Police Department, in the case.

Timely Post

Just finishing the trim work on my chicken coop. Bought 4 Rhode Island Reds. Not laying yet. They are certainly good poopers though.

Gonna post pictures when finished.

I think I will print the picture you posted and attach it.

Thank you!

Hens Illegal in Much of the Country

Here in Virginia Beach I'm working to change the laws to allow backyard hens. We've found friends among environmentalists, 9/12'ers, homeschoolers, and libertarians. Freedom does bring people together. We have not, however, found many friends on city council. Many are now practicing civil disobedience as well as getting involved politically to try to change things. It is absurd that the city can tell you what to do on your own property when you are keeping to yourself and not bothering a soul. http://www.4VirginiaBeachHens.com/

If the city council wants to be idiots

Play idiot back. Get yourself a nice "parrot." Sure, sure, your parrot lays eggs every day and it is not very colorful for a parrot, and the damn thing won't talk at all, but it is YOUR parrot and you love your parrot.

Only in America

When from 1980 to 1986 I worked my family’s farm, at one time I had 649 White Leghorn laying hens. My girl drove an egg route, life was great on the farm. It was the time of Daisy Duks  Facilitating their safety, with a Great Horned Owl and Red Tail Hawk - Trap and Transport Permit, at a time when Melloncamp (38 miles away) was signing of ‘signs in the Courthouse lawn’. At that time I financed 11 ninety mile roundtrips to Indianapolis, from just south of Cincinnati. It cost money to travel then also. That was a hot summer. We moved these scavengers this distance, according to federal instructions at that time, but no further. The distance being so short, many returned before I made it home. Such is the competency of government instruction.

Think that’s bad.

Living in Buffalo as an urban pioneer for the last ten years, and here citizens must get permits for chickens. Even when you have contiguous multiple properties this inhibition to life remains the case. URBAN BLOTTING – and 25% of your eggs go to the fees, for permissions. Anyway, I’ve had an empty coop in the yard for years, since I lived here. They confiscate chickens without permit here in Buffalo. HERES TO CHICKENS !

Bump for poultry

I love stuff like this.

Ron brought the Liberty movement together, Rand is expanding the crap out of it! :)

I feel like now

Now it's your patriotic duty to not raise chickens so that you don't oversupply the market. I'm surprised they aren't paying people to NOT raise chickens.

Damned backwards Keynesian economics.

It was a good idea then

it is a good idea now. Join the chicken coupe!
