SPLC Persuades Jersey City Police to Discipline Oath Keepers

SPLC and ADL describe Oath Keepers as "anti-government extremists" and now have used their police contacts to persuade the Jersey City Police Department to discipline members of the group. It has been decades since the SPLC and ADL were exclusively dedicated to fighting bigotry and clearly "anti-government extremism" has nothing to do with bigotry. Nonetheless they use the police connections they have developed over the years to help shape police policy.

Jersey City police brass identify a pro-militia clique in the department and say they've been stopped
...A clique of officers who calls themselves “Three-Percenters” in the Jersey City Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit sprouted about two years ago, officials have told The Jersey Journal.
“They were separating themselves from the others in the unit and we put a stop to it immediately,” Jersey City Police Deputy Chief Peter Nalbach said... http://www.nj.com/jjournal-news/index.ssf/2013/04/jersey_cit...

The founder of the three percenters offered a defense of the officers.

'Three Percenters' founder: Wrong to discipline Jersey City police officers
....In a brief telephone interview from Tennessee, Michael Graham said that he believes the officers have a right to have their own political beliefs -- and in fact that there are many police, firefighters and veterans among the "three percenters." "We don't collect any money, or ask anyone for anything, but maybe we should because we could help out the police officers who were unnecessarily disciplined," Graham said.... http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/2013/04/three_percenters_...

If we have future cop problems, we need to ask for Oathkeepers.

Have a problem with cops and don't trust them? We need to ask for a cop who is also an Oathkeeper to be on site to assist us. Show that a regular cop does not have the trust of the people if they try to strong arm us. Show that people will cooperate with Oathkeepers.
