My wife and I just returned

My wife and I just returned from the caucus site in New Orleans. We were the only campaign there with a nice table set up. There was a small Mitt table and there were people from McCain's, but Ron Paul definitely had the youth vote. There were around ten of us handing out flyers and pointing people in the right direction. You could definitely tell those who had learned about Ron Paul from the MSM, they would avoid our pamphlets like Dracula avoids crosses. Several times throughout the night I turned to look at the table and it definitely had the most people congregating around. I was told the results will be known tomorrow. My guess is this will be the highest percentage Ron Paul has received as of yet from any caucus.

I thought Maine had a weird caucus process...

Republican caucus to be held today
by The Times-Picayune
Tuesday January 22, 2008, 7:30 AM
Louisiana's Republican voters will head to the polls today at 11 different caucus sites to cast their ballots for delegates and alternate delegates to the Louisiana Republican Convention.

Voters can cast ballots from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm this evening.

The state convention will choose the bulk of Louisiana's delegates to the Republican National Convention. Louisiana will have a total of 47 delegates and 44 alternates to the national convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Three of Louisiana's delegate spots are already decided. Under RNC Rules, Chairman Roger F. Villere, Jr., National Committeeman Ross Little, Jr. and National Committeewoman Hon. Kay Kellogg Katz serve as automatic national convention delegates. State Convention delegates will choose the remaining 44 national delegates and alternates and will adopt an official platform for the Republican Party of Louisiana.

The following cities will host the caucuses: Bossier City, Natchitoches, Monroe, Pineville, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Houma, Kenner, New Orleans and Covington. Voters will be assigned to caucus sites based on the parish where they are registered to vote.

Fifteen delegates and fifteen alternates to the state convention will be elected from each congressional district. Republican voters are eligible to vote in the congressional district where they were registered on November 30, 2007. In order to participate, voters must present a drivers license or valid photo I.D.

The state convention will be held Feb. 16 at the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge. All of Louisiana's 2008 national convention delegates will be uncommitted. But if a presidential candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote in the Feb. 9 presidential primary, state party rules require 20 of Louisiana's at-large delegates to support that candidate on the first ballot of the national convention. If no presidential candidate receives a majority on Feb. 9, the at-large delegates will be uncommitted.

Ron Paul Could Be Louisiana Dark Horse

Huffington Post: (Not A Ron Paul friend by the way)

Don't expect to hear much about it from the corporate media, but Louisiana today begins the process that will determine who 27 of it's 47 Republican delegates will support in a caucus setting.

And guess who is expected to get more delegates than anyone else out of Louisiana today?.........

From "best of New Orleans":

"The biggest surprise to come out of Louisiana's GOP delegate process thus far involves Ron Paul, the Texas congressman mounting a quasi-libertarian campaign that has been defined by its grassroots organization. Dore says the Paul campaign dropped off a 'whole slate" of delegates about two weeks ago " a surprise showing that wasn't expected."

GEAUX Ron Paul!!

Update

From ronpaulforums

Update before the first vote is cast.

Ok, check out the delegates ballots here: http://www.lagop.com/

I was moved to alternate because we had 18 delegates and all we needed was 15.
In the alternates race in district 5, we have 15 ron paul alternate delegates on the ballot out of a total of 19 alternates.
Which means.. worse case scenario, we walk away with 11 Alternates in our district. 11 votes at the state convention.

We've already won 7 alternates in district 2, won unopposed. if only we could have filled all the delegate slots in district 2, but i think that is our worse district. people aren't very involved there.

We've already won 15 alternates in district 3. won unopposed.

We've already won 13 alternates in district 4. won unopposed.

For a total of 46 alternates already won before the voting even starts. (out of 95 alternates total) suppose to be 105 but 10 slots will not be filled because no one ran for them.

Just someone's post.

Puppets come and puppets go but the world's stage is getting cluttered.

Louisiana Caucus and the delegates is what is important.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.
