What is the most effective means of achieving a Libertarian government?Submitted by Silk Shirt on Fri, 05/03/2013 - 19:30
As an active 'keyboard warrior' in the fight for limited government I was wondering what is the best means of maximising the influence of certain actions against the time/effort put into each task.
Here are some actions that can be taken a score out of ten for how effective I believe they are;
Guerilla graffiti campaign
1-4 (This usually makes me very happy to see someone breaking the rules to get a point across - not a good idea if it is on private property as the owner of that property will automatically frown on the graffiti and may form a negative opinion of libertarians).
Blogging/Posting in forums/Activism on Facebook
2 (usually you are preaching to the converted or trying to argue with those who have equally strong opposing views - facebook is the best of these I suppose)
Distributing Leaflets in your local area
5 (Gets these ideas out to people who would not usually think about them and they can digest them at their own pace in their own time without being pressured - can be negative if the information is hysteric or not based on reason)
Talking to friends/family
7 (Can be a very powerful tool for spreading ideas - You do not want to be a Nigel know it all who talks down others ideas and thinks you have all the answers (None of us really do)).
10 (Gives a platform to ideas and allows you to move to a position of power - can be brutal, if you have made mistakes in the past that can come back to you expect to get burnt. Also not everyone is cut out for this but I suspect more of us could do a good job than first thought)
These are some ideas but I am interested if anyone else has any other ideas or can give another take on the ideas above. We have to keep pushing these ideas or we will just slide backwards.
