Adam Kokesh Planning 'Illegal' Open Carry Gun March On D.C.

From The Event Page:

On the morning of July 4, 2013, Independence Day, we will muster at the National Cemetery & at noon we will step off to march across the Memorial Bridge, down Independence Avenue, around the Capitol, the Supreme Court, & the White House, then peacefully return to Virginia across the Memorial Bridge. This is an act of civil disobedience, not a permitted event. We will march with rifles loaded & slung across our backs to put the government on notice that we will not be intimidated & cower in submission to tyranny. We are marching to mark the high water mark of government & to turn the tide. This will be a non-violent event, unless the government chooses to make it violent. Should we meet physical resistance, we will peacefully turn back, having shown that free people are not welcome in Washington, & returning with the resolve that the politicians, bureaucrats, & enforcers of the federal government will not be welcome in the land of the free.

You are welcome to attend unarmed as a supporter, or armed with a recording device.

If this page gets to 10,000 attendees by June 1st, & we have the critical mass necessary to pull this off, (1,000 actual attendees) we will march. Please spread the word, share this event, & invite all your friends.

when, where, why, how, who, what

I think those of us who came into the GOP crossed the line Ron Paul drew clearly, and while it has been dangerous, we continue to draw the line inside the GOP, filling the floor, and now with Rand (looking at a presidential run, win or lose), we are still drawing that line, and doing well. Some of us may be sheep for Jesus, some of us may be capialist pigs relishing our right to be selfish, some of us may be a school of pirana, some of us may be chickens, hawks, ostriches, reptilians, doves, dinos or rinos, and we will all cross that line at different places and ways.. but one thing we are not is cattle waiting to be loaded into cars to the un nwo globalized glue factory.

You First

.

Doing something stupid is doing something.
It is doing something stupid.

But feel free to make stupid stands.

Please make a video of the event.

"You are a den of vipers and thieves."

I mean to rout you out!

-Just because you are among us, does not make you with us

-The door is wide open, anything can slither in

That would be very provacative

I can see the wisdom of setting the high water mark but this is not the V moment when the cop shoots the little girl for tagging. Adam should reconsider as this will be billed by the media as an armed insurrection.
I would be afraid for anyone participating armed.

I would say don't do this.

I would say don't do this. It's a felony in DC, you'll be arrested and your guns legally stripped from you. Do i think thats constitutional? No, but thats how it is. Also good luck getting a gun ever again with a felony mark on your record. I get the principle of it, but you'd be a fool to think Obama wouldn't jump all over this and enforce the law on you the second you step in his city. There will be nobody telling you to turn around, they will be slapping cuffs on you and sending you to prison.

There are many better ways to nonviolently protest. One that don't involve committing felonies, ruining your life, and subtracting one less person for the liberty movement.

Why not organize a huge open carry march in a state that allows it?

Because sometimes the people have to create a national event

and direct the questioning of public policy against tyranny.

we are not all able to stomach civil disobedience like MLK or Rosa Parks does, but Kokesh is trying to embolden people towards disobedience in a way that the national media will stumble over explaining governments reaction, which will thicken the base in this melting pot and possibly boil over some 21st century Patrick Henrys.

It is important to bring public policy together on an issue expanding liberty, it has been long time come. I disagree with having to always follow the middle path on a dead end road but appreciate your concern. I personally wouldn't do it because I don't have the heart for it like Kokesh does as I am worried about my legal status... but that doesn't make me right for being a coward and not attending.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right. -Henry Ford

Remember this

Remember this thread and ones like it?

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

WOW

This would be a pretty bold brave move. I like it.

Beep beep boop beep... I am a Paulbot... prepare for liberty and prosperity!

How About Local?

Also, for those that can't join the D.C. march I would suggest that you organize a local march on the Federal Building in the city of your State Capitol and follow the same guidelines of the Kokesh march. You could also finish your march at the Capitol to serve notice to your State leaders that your Constitutional rights will not be compromised.

Already 570 signed up to go.

Already 570 signed up to go. Don't see it as a problem to get 1000. I've met Kokesh and found him to be a bit abrasive and unafraid to tell it like it is. My kind of guy...

Beware the cult of "government"...
