Well said Thimbleberry.

Well said Thimbleberry.

When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.
~ John Muir

Only a really naive person or a con man would say that

The primary reason you have guns is to protect yourself from your neighbors.

People aren't basically good. Government is not the problem, government is a symptom of how people are. And government is acting like everyone else is in society.

"Trust me" is not the slogan of a good man, it's the saying of a con man. You have to earn trust as most people are wicked by default, and you sure aren't going to pass off "trust everyone".

Let God be true, but every man a liar.
Romans 3:4.

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:5

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

This is refreshing.

With so much negative stuff being posted on the DP, I find myself coming here less just to keep my blood pressure in check. This helped a lot. Thank you.

"What are we holding onto, Sam?"

"There's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."

Thank you for posting this!

The sad part is this thing happens all over the world: Iraq, Iran, China, Et al.

However, Most Americans don't see our (and when I say "our" I mean the US Govt.) "enemies" as people, they see them as "savages."

Only 20% of Americans have passports, so whatever the TV tells them about these people is Gospel.

I have been to About 20 countries on 4 continents and there is one thing I am certain of: there are good people and bad people everywhere.

Turkey

My mother and step-father raised money to send wheelchairs to Turkey. Apparently, there are many who don't have them, and they often drag themselves around on cart or the ground.

When a bus comes, someone will always help them aboard.

That's what I would call true social security.
