The biggest obstacle to freedom within the GOP

The biggest obstacle to freedom within the GOP is jingoism. A jingo is someone who favors vigilant preparedness for war and an aggressive foreign policy. Sound like any candidates we know? Yep all of 'em, except our good doctor, but especially McCain and Giuliani.

But Jingoism is unfortunately a winning position in national politics, especially within the GOP. Many if not most within the GOP, including some in my family and amongst my friends, are so inclined.

What is the cause of this jingoism within our fellow citizens? I think it comes from pride and fear. We are all proud of capable armed defense services, and many let this pride become the rationale for accepting the burden of defense of our allies without understanding the scope and impact of this burden.

Unlike pride, fear is something that crests and falls. We are on the downside of a crest now due to the 9-11 mass murders with the so-called war on terror. Some jingos are picking a fight with something called islamofascism, stoking fear as they go.

It is lingoistic pride and fear we must concentrate on in order to convert enough of the remaining GOP base to the ideas of freedom espoused by Dr. Paul. Once we temper the pride and assuage the fears, the obvious qualities of integrity, principled positions and truy conservative values as embodied in Dr. Paul will win the day with the GOP. But only then.

So I am looking for succinct, persuasive and cogent arguments to temper the pride and assuage the fear many GOP faithful will often unwittingly use as reasons not to support Dr. Paul. I look forward to any responses.
