Very Very Very Sad Day In Austin Texas

I hate to post this, but today is a very very very sad day in Austin Texas. I was not able to take any video or pictures, but I would recommend for you all to go down town. There are no protesters... maybe because of the grounds keeping bill (HR 347)

Downtown Austin TX is no free-speech zone! In spite of this I, along with another biker (that randomly met on the street {spontaneous order???}, spoke to people along the way regarding the blatant police state. The hundreds of Thugs in uniform told us to get off Congress and shut up. It was horrible to see. ... I kept talking to people on the side walk and all of the pedestrians were thanking us. I was not met with any civilian opposing what we were doing. I was congratulated even by a German tourist who told me that he was very sad to to see this in Texas.

The best we have been able to make of today's (Monday May,6) display of police might is that they are flexing their muscles for Obama. Our downtown was on lock down for some police memorial like event. The difference this time was the pompous exaggeration of power. All of our main streets were on shut down in the down town area. The emperador is coming and they have prepared his carpeted entrance.

Today is also "Texas-Israel Day"...

which makes the day that much more tragic for Texas.

so he is on a trip to talk about the economy and jobs

and proceeds to basically shut down downtown for the day? That helps the economy how?

Since the regular folks aren't allowed near him, why bother coming to town. Have your little meetings outside of town and stop disrupting everything. Oh right, they are trying to intimidate everyone.

Any photos of the police presence?

How Come AJ's Not On This?

He lives there ya know. William Brown too. Haven't heard him say anything about it.

Hmmm... That below said, thinking 1 minute longer... Knowing him a bit, AJ probably doesn't give a cr@p to such interdiction!

You read my mind.

You read my mind. I was thinking about that, too.

Can't quite imagine he wouldn't pick up on this. We'll see.

Dear Austin, Texas,

Dear Austin, Texas,

This may come late, but here's how you can denounce this filth, infamy, without protesting:

Open a dictionary, people. Lookup the verb protest, and the noun.

It's about declaration and statement.

So, make signs. Many signs. Big signs.

And turn everything into QUESTIONS.

Question marks exclusively, no ending periods.

Be harsh. Very harsh.

But no profanity.

Use sarcasm, preferably. Tons of it.

Denounce by QUESTIONS.

Denounce these POS.

INTERROGATIVE grammatical forms exclusively.

Do not make a single statement or complaints in affirmative form.

Questions only.

If asked what you're doing by LE, reply by a question:

Am I protesting? Am I not, instead, only asking questions? Isn't "protest" in your dictionary? Can't a judge use a dictionary, too, to decide about what I'm doing?

Next, they will have to write something up to forbid people asking questions.

They will have to forbid peaceful assembly, too.

They can try, right?

For liberty.

Bush, Perry. What else needs to be said?

Austin, Bush Perry?

What does Austin have to do with them?

Thanks For All responses

I think it is important for each an everyone of us to keep one another "in-the-loop" of what is going on in our local communities.

Your points are valid and yes there should be caution when we are gathered in one sole place.

video OBAMA Signs Anti-Protest Bill

- FREE SPEECH & Protest will get you JAIL TIME!

A Pretense of Authority Does Not Make Valid Law.

James Madison - Author of the Constitution - Virginia Resolution 1798:

"...That this state having by its Convention, which ratified the federal Constitution, expressly declared, that "AMONG OTHER ESSENTIAL RIGHTS" (APP: i.e. THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS, ETC...), "the Liberty of Conscience and of the Press "CANNOT BE CANCELED", abridged, restrained, OR MODIFIED by "ANY AUTHORITY" of the "United States" (federal government),"

(APP: This includes Executive Orders (which in itself is unconstitutional), Legislative or Supreme Court)

"...and from its extreme anxiety to guard these rights from EVERY possible attack of "SOPHISTRY or AMBITION", having with other states, recommended an amendment for that purpose, which amendment was, in due time, ANNEXED to the Constitution; it would mark a "REPROACHABLE" inconsistency, and "CRIMINAL DEGENERACY", if an indifference were now shewn, to the most palpable violation of ONE OF THE RIGHTS, thus declared and secured; and to the establishment of a PRECEDENT (UNDER A PRETENSE OF AUTHORITY) which may be FATAL TO THE OTHER (RIGHTS)...."

Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, June 12, 1823, The Complete Jefferson, p. 322.

"...On every question of "CONSTRUCTION", let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested
in the DEBATES (i.e. THE RATIFYING CONVENTIONS), and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it,

>>>>>>>conform to the "probable one" in which it was passed". "

Virginia "Ratifying Convention" 6-16-1788:

George Nicholas: "...Congress have power to define and punish:

a.) piracies and felonies committed on the high seas, and
b.) offenses against the laws of nations;
(c.) Treason &
d.) Counterfeit of Coin)

....but they

(APP: the federal government, executive, legislature or supreme court)

(Thomas Jefferson Repeated this CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITATION in the Kentucky Resolutions, 1798 - Paragraph #2 - Please Read it!:

Virginia "Ratifying Convention" 6-16-1788:

Mr. PENDLETON. "Mr. Chairman, this (SWEEPING i.e. SUPREMACY) clause DOES "NOT" give Congress power to impede the operation of ANY PART of the Constitution, (N)or to make "ANY REGULATION" that (EVEN)"MAY"affect the interests of the citizens of the "UNION AT LARGE"....

(APP: think about that,.... then Note that the federal government has NO AUTHORITY to GOVERN POLICE of ANY KIND, OUTSIDE the Washington DC - i.e. what the Founders described as the 10 MILES SQUARE and can make NO LAW that EVEN MAY EFFECT THE CITIZENS of the UNION at LARGE - Here he continues...)

"....But it gives them power over the "LOCAL" police of "THE PLACE", so as to be secured from any interruption in their proceedings. Notwithstanding the violent attack upon it, I believe, sir, this is the "fair CONSTRUCTION of the (SWEEPING i.e. SUPREMACY) clause". It gives them power of exclusive legislation in any case WITHIN >>>"THAT DISTRICT" (WASHINGTON, DC).

What is the meaning of this? What is it opposed to? Is it opposed to the general powers of the federal legislature, or to those of the state legislatures?

I understand it as opposed to the legislative power of that state "WHERE IT SHALL BE". What, then, is the power? It is, that Congress shall exclusively legislate "THERE", in order to preserve {440} serve the "POLICE" OF "THE PLACE" and their "OWN" "PERSONAL" independence, that they may not be overawed or insulted, and of course to preserve them in opposition to any attempt by the state WHERE IT SHALL "BE" ,

this is the "FAIR CONSTRUCTION"...."

FBI, CIA, ATF, ICE etc. All are policing OUTSIDE the 10 miles Square of Washington, DC; and ALL OUTSIDE FEDERAL LIMITS OF AUTHORITY.

Any attempt to claim Authority by the Federal Government, which was NOT DELEGATED in the "Original Compact" is an ARROGATION of POWER which is Expressly Prohibited (See Virginia Ratifying Convention 6-16-1788);

As Thomas Jefferson presented in the Kentucky Resolutions, 1798:

#1: "...this COMPACT was "NOT" made the exclusive or final judge of the extent of the (federal) powers delegated to ITSELF

(APP: federal government - i.e. The Federal Supreme Court, Executive or Legislative are NOT the final judge);

since that would have made "IT'S" (the federal government's) "DISCRETION", and "NOT THE CONSTITUTION", the measure of its powers; but that, as in ALL OTHER CASES of compact among powers having no common judge, each party (STATE) has an EQUAL right to judge for itself, as well of infractions as of the mode and measure of redress.

Not clear enough?

Virginia Ratifying Convention 6-16-1788:

JAMES MADISON. Mr. Chairman: "...I cannot comprehend that the "power of LEGISLATING" over a "SMALL DISTRICT" (Washington , DC), which >>>"CANNOT EXCEED" >>>TEN MILES SQUARE, and may >>>"NOT BE" more than "ONE" MILE, will involve the dangers which he (Patrick Henry) apprehends. ..."

JOHN LOCKE: 140: "....for if any one shall claim a power to lay and levy TAXES on the people "by his own authority", and without such "CONSENT of the people", he thereby "invades the fundamental law of PROPERTY", and "subverts the end of government".

For what property have I in that which another may by right take when he pleases to himself?

Need to edit your subject better and add more clarification

This video is old news and there is no correlation with what you did. Nobody went to jail for a felony crime.

Weak post.

Thanks for the constructive critique. Ill keep your points in mind for future posts.

Can you explain this in more detail?

Were you there to protest? What were you protesting? Was there an organized protest supposed to happen? Were you holding signs? Who was telling you to leave? Secret Service agents? Police? Sorry about all the queations, this is so upsetting. There was nary a peep from the mainstream news about HR 347 and it appears that it is being enforced?

Nope not protesting at all. Just making my way across town. No one in the liberty community here was expecting this we are all pretty disgusted. And we are trying to figure out how to "not protest -protest" come Thursday.

most people in America are still under the delusion that we have

free speech. because they never exercise the right, they don't realize it's almost completely gone.

It IS sad.

This took place this morning. Yeah like the post above stated, Austin's concentration of libertarians is a good reason enough for them to be so intimidating.

Were the intelligent progressives of Austin cheering their leaders arrival? Surely they approve of this 'zoning', right?
