A few years ago, or so, there

A few years ago, or so, there was a similar open carry march on D.C. but I cant, for the life of me, remember which group did it, nor when. I do remember, though, that they were stopped by police at the bridge.

Anyone remember any details on it? I did some quick googling but I ended up flooded with articles about this march instead of finding the previous one.

When the march is over ...

what will have changed?

It could be a lot of things

I like Kokesh, but he has a lot to benefit from by getting his name out there by having a march like this. However, he is a great advocate for a free society. For me, it is a toss-up. The event would have to be big enough to draw a lot of social media attention to counteract bad mainstream reporting.

I've thought very hard about this

It has to come from within the military, the civilians are too out-gunned.
The weapon civilians need to use is their wallet - stop spending money. When the FRNs stop churning they are dethroned.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

In January, there was a pro-life march to the capitol in D.C..

Tens of thousands showed up. Did anyone know about it?

A couple of days later, a few hundred showed up to support Roe v. Wade. The media reported there were thousands, and guess what--everyone believed it.

They can mow us down, fold us up, throw us away, and clean up the mess before anyone ever hears about this 'publicity stunt'. Remember Thomas Ball?

Call me crazy but ...I say do it!

Cameras! Cameras! Cameras! EVERYWHERE. Live stream it Luke Rudowski style.

Kudos to Alex and Lew for being like two concerned parents and trying to say no.

Go Kokesh

Rockwell is just jealous that Kokesh is authentic and stealing his thunder. Rockwell is enamored with himself. If real change happened, he would be irrelevant. He knows it.

His life purpose is to be the high priest of the Ron Paul cultists. He is the Paulian Peikoff. Real libertarian change means nothing to him.

Alex Jones is a Sunstein Agent.

Downvote away, Pharisees.

are you going to be marching with Kokesh?

because otherwise STFU about people being "authentic"

"All our words are but crumbs that fall down from the feast of the mind." - Khalil Gibran
"The Perfect Man has no self; the Holy Man has no merit; the Sage has no fame." - Chuang Tzu

Why the attack on me? Are you a Rockwell apologist? Are you arguing that Rockwell is authentic? Perhaps you could speak on Rockwell's behalf. Frankly, I find him to be all bark and no bite... the perfect, servile, beltway "libertarian". Perhaps he's cointel pro... a venting mechanism for the sheeple.

Go Kokesh.

In the grand scheme, I love LRC. But coming out against Kokesh is upsetting.

It's OK to have different opinions

Why is "coming out against Kokesh upsetting"? Is Adam infallible? If not, and if someone thought he was making a catastrophic mistake, your view is that such a person should keep his mouth shut? Or do you consider it absolutely impossible for someone to have a different view from Adam?

I am 100% sure Ron Paul would oppose this march. Does that "upset" you, too? Is the liberty movement supposed to be a cult, in which no one can differ from anyone else?

And Lew Rockwell could not care less about Adam Kokesh, or having his thunder stolen, or whatever. Lew has helped build up a whole generation of libertarians and has been glad to do it. He is about the most quiet and retiring of all libertarians. The idea that he is actually a megalomaniac shows a serious detachment from reality.

Apparently it is a cult. Whoever is not operating under the authorization of Ron Paul/LRC is rejected.

Mr. Kokesh has demonstrated repeatedly that he is a loose cannon. AJ is right. That stunt would be a perfect stage for agents provocateur. Nothing good could come of it. Let's hope no one else is foolish enough to join in.

Sure fear the government...

Sure fear the government... Stay at home and wait for them to come get you and or your guns.... Much safer right?

When people have fear to do the lawful it's game over.

You do know the High Court Ruled the DC law is unconstitutional Right? For over 2 years DC has defied the court ruling. It's about time someone did something.

Obama just said he is going to defend the right to bare arms.... Now we will see. Perfect timing.

they won't come "get the guns"...

...the people will TURN THEM IN...for food stamps, FRN's, and Chicago Blackhawks Playoff tickets!!!

I made that point yesterday. My children can't eat weapons and ammunition.

I know of examples in NY and

I know of examples in NY and CA where they already have "come to get the guns". Feds teaming with local.

What will happen if we continue to cower? The patriot act, Obama Care, NDAA, CISPA, wars, ................

Your children are going to live in a world far from your own childhood. They will never know an airport that is not built around fear, They will never send an email or make a phone call that is not recorded. They will never get to keep over 50% of the fruits of their labor. At what point have you lost enough liberty to make a stand?

I admit I have mixed feelings about Adams march but, at least he is getting out from behind the computer and saying enough!

Who the flock cares?

We're talking about TOYS here.

What is this supposed to be, the million TOY march?

Both sides of this argument are retarded. No one is going to care - either way.

You're getting the march we're talking about mixed up

with a different one.

Defend Liberty!

(A) They don't have the right to do it and they're going to get shot and there will be no repercussions for the shooters.

(B) They have the right to do it and they're going to get shot and there will be no repercussions for the shooters.

Defend Liberty!

ain't that the truth.

Well, Lew is wrong about one

Well, Lew is wrong about one thing for sure. The people just don't have the right to "Defense" we have the right to OFFENSE.

He needs to read Jefferson's words: " it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security"

I'm not a big gun person, nor do I own a weapon, HOWEVER, I applaud anyone who is going and I wish millions would do it, and at the same time throw the bums out of the District of Criminals...

Lew is ALSO wrong about people not bringing weapons to State buildings. They have, especially in the last year. I think there were a bunch in Washington State.

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

And Idaho

There were also citizens in the capital building with their AR-15s in Boise.

The founders would be ashamed at us for what we are putting up with.

AJ says it's a bad idea?

Then Kokesh must be a brilliant, brilliant man.

A common sense take on politics and current events.

So when the other thread says the march is a bad idea, he gets 20+ thumb downs

When AJ and Lew says it, it get thumb ups?

Do you see a problem here?

That is the entire crux of

That is the entire crux of the problem! Validity is not measured on Reason, it is measured on followers and collective support. It has been the same problem within society since the beginning - a single person will always fail against a crowed.

Unless that person is Miyamoto Musashi.

Who is that?

I have no idea what's Miyamoto Musashi's relevance, I looked him up a bit, but didn't really comprehend your response.

And yes. Maybe this is a small fraction of Alex Jones' followers, but their conduct has been extremely collectivist. Most, if not all, anti-Jones posts and threads that criticize him immediately gets thumbs downs in massive numbers, by this site's standards. What they say may have merit, but its the fact that most of them act so collectively and emotionally, that it causes the following effects:

1. scare away the normal people
2. ineffectively communicates a message
3. causes people to see them as a "cult"

I am not trying to cause a "Split", but certain posters need to be more rational, and less emotional. I hope the truthers will get that 9/11 being an inside job, and Boston Bombing being one, matters nothing compared to the loss of freedom that follows them. Hope none of the conspiracy camp further fuels the stereotype of Conspiracy theorists; every time that I see a poster being called a "paid troll" or "did the Rothschilds/NWO send you here" I start to cringe, because those statements are made with no support, and only serves as a provocation to the poster, couldn't it be that the poster really disagreed with them?

Someone's started an Armed Toy Gun March on DC July 3rd...

In order to best communicate the importance of 2nd Amendment rights to the citizens of the District of Columbia, Freedom Fighters around the globe will descend on Washington D.C. armed with toy guns on July 3rd, 2013, Activists are encouraged to bring fake pistols with orange tips, water guns, nerf guns, anything peaceful to make a statement about our 2nd amendment rights. Due to the fact that it is currently illegal to carry a loaded firearm into the District of Columbia, we liberty lovers have decided to tweak the nose of big government and show Obama what a clown he is for trying to restrict our natural rights. Join us as we march on DC fully armed with toy guns!

notice how AJ

tries to cover for Kokesh? Very sublime. Lew is on the money though.

That's because assets cover for other assets. Same with "the health ranger".
