Pure Democracy In Action: Brave Moose Mother Fights Wolf Pack In Heroic Battle To Save Her Calf

In the video (below), which was shown on the Huffington Post, it shows a mother moose desperately trying to save her calf from an ever-growing pack of wolves.

Being on the Huffington Post, I took the opportunity to use this video to illustrate how a Democracy is different from a Republic.

Many Americans, when asked what form of government the United States is based on, will incorrectly say "a democracy."

But we are a REPUBLIC and there's a big difference.

The following is what I posted and I expect to get slammed by the mentality on that site.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"This video could be used to illustrate pure DEMOCRACY at work; Rule by majority - not by law.
In a REPUBLIC, (which is based on rule of LAW), the wolves could not have stolen and killed the calf.
I'm not saying those who filmed this should have intervened.
I'm just saying to consider the ramifications of a way-of-life based on purely democratic principles.
Whether the usurpation of an individual's rights (life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness) is done by a pack of wolves, or an immoral majority sitting in government positions, and using their majority powers to steal or kill, makes no difference to the individual in the end.
This is why our founders and authors of the U.S. Constitution never once used the word "Democracy" in our founding documents and laws."
Once there was a quote: "Democracy is two wolves...
...and a sheep deciding on what's for dinner. A Republic is the rule of law forbidding the majority from usurping the rights of the individual.
"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
