The Mail On Sunday today exposes the massive international security risk posed by a gun that can be easily made with new 3D printers.

We built the weapon, which is capable of firing a live round, from blueprints available on the internet – then smuggled it on to a packed Eurostar train.

Two reporters passed completely unchallenged through strict airport-style security to carry the gun on to a London to Paris service in the weekend rush-hour, alongside hundreds of unsuspecting travellers.

Once on board the packed 5.31pm Eurostar train on Friday, the reporters were able to assemble the pieces to create a fully functional firearm, and pose for pictures close to unsuspecting passengers

BREAKING: UK Mail on Sunday Prints Liberator, Takes it to Paris on Eurostar

Posted on May 12, 2013 by Robert Farago

Cody Wilson’s 3D-printed Liberator alive and well in the Land of Hope and Glory. In fact, an enterprising reporter for the UK’s Mail on Sunday has taken it walkies. Simon Murphy printed out the plastic pistol and schlepped it on a Eurostar journey from London to Paris during rush hour. Seems no one was in a rush to remove the [unfired] single-shot firearm from his grip. Murphy and his mate disassembled the gun for its journey. Neither the UK’s Old Bill nor les flics noticed anything untoward. Murphy reassembled the firearm on board and his pal snapped the historic pics. So, what does all this mean? According to various authorities: human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria! More specifically . . .

[...]

Looks like the Liberator hasn’t liberated any thinking in the security sector. Just more of the same, really.

As for Cody Wilson’s idea that a 3D printed pistol will undermine and eventually destroy the UK’s or France’s or the world’s gun control regimes, as the Brits would say, pull the other one it’s got bells on it.

Or not.

And to think these people created an empire.

BTW, unless a terrorist planned on using the weapon on the train, he or she could always buy ammunition in the country of arrival,or are those, too, under strict controls in most countries? If so, it should certainly be a simple process to hide a single bullet in the heel of a boot or shoe.

Of course, what the morons completely miss is the simple process of transmitting the 3D printer program to the country of arrival. Virtually all countries will have 3D printers for most materials, including metals very shortly.

It reminds me of that obnoxious psychopath, Senator Charles Schumer (who laughed during the House Waco hearings), when he uses his pat argument, "You think everyone should have a gun. Do you think everyone should have a bazooka?" To which I reply, "Senator, anyone good gunsmith with a length of pipe and a machine shop could build a bazooka; and, if you were not such an ignorant moron, you would know that."

Ok, so unless I missed it,

Ok, so unless I missed it, they didnt actually have a bullet in it. A bullet, which would be made of metal and likely picked up by the metal detectors.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

I wonder

Which Jew owns the 'Mail'....

Luke 3:38
Isaiah 43:3-5

This article is ridiculously hysterical.

"The Mail On Sunday today exposes the massive international security risk posed by a gun that can be easily made with new 3D printers."

Oh no!

Not a £1,700 piece of plastic that can fire a single bullet!

Why this is the harbinger of the apocalypse!

Wait, till they figure out that people can still buy semi-automatic hand guns on the black market that are cheaper than £1,700 and are easier to obtain than a 3d printer.

I suppose they are more concerned that it was able to be smuggled onto the train.

But, if somebody wants to kill someone on a packed commuter train, a one shot pistol is less effective than a knife in a confined space.

Last I checked people weren't stabbing eachother to death on trains very often.

I don't think this pistol is much of a threat to commuters.

In the end, what did they prove?

That a piece of plastic can be smuggled onto a commuter train.

Call me optimistic, but I don't think the world is going to end because of this.

yup. but come on! dude, like we all know that Austrian Glocks

are made in UK, and not Austria! I mean come on: in an ISLAND nation where everything not made domestically must be shipped in, and one where civilian handgun ownership is banned, Austrian Glocks are awash in the black market, 'cause you know, they grow in the English country side!

LOL

"Wait, till they figure out that people can still buy semi-automatic hand guns on the black market that are cheaper than £1,700 and are easier to obtain than a 3d printer."

Yup. It's truly, like, seriously?

I friggin guarantee, now that the UK Military has adopted the Glock 17 as their official sidearm, there will be cops and UK servicemen pipelining them into the black market, just as they do in Mexico, Israel (it's like y'all didn't think the PLO could get full auto M16's with serial numbers trackable back to DoD and 'our gift' to the IDF, without Israelis themselves selling it to them, now did ya?) and unfortunately here in US, beyond the Fast & Furious; there's always been blackmarket guns via servicemen and local cops.

Dear Humanity, like seriously, can we finally be done with your mental illness and blind cultish loyalty to your false-God and religion, aka Statism, already...in the friggin 21st Century, no less??

According to this article:

Grenades can be purchased for £250 or less on the black market, and grenade attacks are becoming more common in the UK.

A great many of these grenades are L109 grenades from Britain's armories.

£250?? Damn, see what govt intervention does??

to have to buy something that really costs less than £25? Yikes!

LOL

well, to be frank, in a truly 'free' world, all should have access to these; even if one were to debate from a strict constructionist minarchist Constitutional paradigm, EVERYONE should have access to same arms as that of the military, period; people often forget what "bear arms" meant in 18th century context: numerous iterations to be sure, but most apropos to 2nd Amd. Constitutional context, meant: "to carry and wield with proficiency."

Which is why anytime gungrabbers counter with "so we should all have nukes?" My first answer is YES, Why not, as long as you can control its damage range? But, a 50sq. mile radius kill-zone and irradiating the land for 5BILLION+ years, is NOT 'wielding with proficiency,' ya dummy!

LOL.

Besides, even from an AnCap private law/private property rights view, with 'private' nukes, liability is literally priceless (not in a good way), there will be no asinine moron insurance company who will be willing to cover that. But also one would have to weigh one's own morals. That aside, as if there aren't already post-Soviet govt-corporatist manufactured nukes on the black market; govt IS the reason why 'we' have these insane weapons that can literally destroy the entire globe 50,000 (accounting from ICBM's to 'mini-tactical nukes') times over!

In contrast, one can aim their gun and target specific assailants, as can a small grenade to 5~10m radius killzone and the world most popular defensive ordinance delivery system: the Ruskies' ever ubiquitous RPG-7.

Besides, even setting aside their utterly moronic cognitive dissonance in almost wanting to be ruled by their public SERVANTS and the same smallarms they deploy, which they want to ban from their neighbors from, the most rabid hoplophobes have no clue that there are a lot of private citizens in US who already privately own everything from Anti-Aircraft Artillery/guns, field-artillery, tanks, and even Soviet era MiG's, if you're Larry Ellison of Oracle.

Privately owned MiG-29, anyone?

Privately owned Harrier, anyone?

http://youtu.be/p2xEcnifDuk

Privately owned Sukhoi Su-27, anyone?

http://youtu.be/eEDUiSPAPRo

It's like if one already has means to own a $5MILLION combat fighter jet and maintain it, in what unicorn universe do these idiot gungrabbers delude, given time and willpower, that if these same individuals wanted to, couldn't arm these with missiles?

'Decommissioned' only means software and a few hardware blocks, which for anyone with such means can always find a way.

So even now, what determines which 'civilian' can or cannot own these arms, what govt determines is the 'requirement' is nothing more than a tax stamp, as is: it's about FRN's to them, not truly truly about who you are, just because they go through the motion of running a background check to 'grant/allow' who can/cannot own them.

So sick of all the empty logic and hypocrisy. But seems, it will continue until the Republic crashes via currency collapse, and it 'reboots.' Then again, same collectivist statist and their acquiescence to be willfully unaware-of-generational-banksters'-machinations-mindset brought on the collapse, so no guarantee what comes after will be any better.

Only time will tell...

It makes me happy and proud to think...

that if even a single micro-doodle/mega-bittie of the information required to make that gun/tool of defense was printed using the information I downloaded,

then I have contributed to the freeing of humanity.

15 plastic parts, 1 metal pin: actually quite brilliant design

in its simplicity.

I can see this as a basis for a 'new'-ish polymer bodied+metal sub-chasis break-open, Thompson Contender pistol with interchangeable calibers (in both pistol and rifle calibers, the latter's practicality aside. lol).

If a reliable SCCY can be produced, sold for sub-$250 market price,

don't see why a 'manufactured-in-Polymer/Nylon body with metal subframes and pins' couldn't make for an 'okay' 'survival pistol' in the vein of X-Caliber for 12ga single-shot break-open shotguns.

And of course the principle behind the 2nd Amendment is...

...that reasonable, law-abiding citizens should be
allowed to protect themselves.

These gentlemen did NOT fire the weapon at anyone.

But if a crazed individual with a knife would have
begun to stab people willy-nilly, the guy with the
gun could have stopped him very quickly from killing
more people.

that indeed,

but the generationally pussified/pansified Queen's subjects who are so brainwashed that their supposedly 'educated' medical doctors are now calling for kitchen-knife ban/restrictions (I shiite you not), I doubt the DailyMail scribes could get their hands on .380ACP pistol ammo with such ease (in a nation where private handgun ownership is de jure banned, for the most part), as to even be able actually use the Liberator that they printed, as intended, unfortunately.

but, can't stop the signal.o)
