My Dad Never Liked Ron, But He Really Likes Rand

Typical retired Baby Boomer...voted for Reagan, voted for Clinton, voted for Bush, voted for Gore, voted for Bush, voted for Romney...

NOT a party line voter, that's my dad in a political nutshell.

So this afternoon was quite interesting over at the parents house for Mother's Day....

I don't even remember how Rand Paul came up, but when he did my dad said, "I like him better than his father, he was too Andy Griffith for politics. (Rand Paul) knows how to play the game."

After two glasses of Merlot, dad speaks the truth.

Ha!

Happy Mother's Day everyone.

I love you Mom and Dad.

Did your Dad notice

Makes me wonder if Dad noticed how the media completely ignored Dr. Paul during the 2008 and 2012 elections.
I am opposite of your Dad, I Love Dr. Paul and has since I heard about him in the 1980's and I sorta tolerate and understand the political game Rand is playing. I don't understand how Rand could endorse Romney when his Dad is still in the field.
Now, that really baffles me.
I would likely vote for Rand, just because of his father.

Your typical idiots can't

Your typical idiots can't appreciate the unwavering honesty of Dr. Ron Paul, and instead prefer someone who they believe is "playing the game," but unbeknownst to them, is actually being corrupted by it.

Unwavering honesty and a

Unwavering honesty and a Puritanical approach do not mix very well in the giant soup pot called politics. Sucks, but it's true.

Unfortunately, most people are not tuned in to what's going on, well educated, well read, and moral all at the same time. That's the sad but true reality of the situation.

"Your typical idiot," may not be smart, educated, and moral...but their vote counts just as much as yours.

It sucks, but in the game of politics one must play their violin to an entire audience, not just the few of us who happen to be aware of things.

Some Statistics

Facebook likes:
Ron Paul: 1,122,881
Rand Paul: 921,401

Most popular age group:
Ron Paul: 25-34
Rand Paul: 55+

I find these stats intriguing. Although I still don't fully understand why the older generation dislikes Ron more than Rand. Maybe they simply can't handle the truth.

Oh wow, that is super

Oh wow, that is super interesting. Thank you for posting this.

Rand is winning over the Boomers.

Most popular age group:

Rand Paul: 55+

(Can you please provide a link to this info?)

That's the most important age demographic when it comes to voting politics in America!

Want to win a national election? Win the 55 and over vote.

This is quite fascinating...Ron Paul attracts the 24-35 year old voters, but Rand Paul attracts their parents.

I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of Daily Paul members are between the ages of 24-35.

Yeah it is quite fascinating that Ron appeals to the younger generation and vice versa with Rand. but based off the people I've met it does seem to be true for the most part. I myself am 20 years old, and I've ran across 16-17 year olds on the DP

Yay that's awesome!

Too Andy Griffin? LOL I can see why people would say that I guess even though obviously I disagree.

Thanks for sharing:)

i got a man-crush on Andy Griffith

He played a widower with some swagger but honesty shone through and through.

btw, i think we're talking about Andy Griffith and not Andy Griffin the soccer player.

I've spent some time with older folks, and I've gotta say it...

They know what the game is, and they like the devious nature of politics to the degree they like politics in general.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Rand is playing 4-dimensional chess while everyone else is playing checkers.

That said - and NWO I know you're reading this - everyone needs to up their game because high stakes is the only game...

why are pandas exempt from RICO statutes?

Chess is already four

Chess is already four dimensional.

That's because you have to understand the game too appreciate-

Ron, he speaks to those of us who reject, not embrace the MSM.

I Know Lots Of People

who never talked about Ron or didn't like him but who are now really excited about Rand..

I can't explain it but I'm happy its happening

From what I'm seeing......

It is the older republicans, average 65 & over that are sold on Rand for a variety of reasons, but the one reason they really liked was him calling out HilLIARly.

Gotta say, I liked that to....

Funny story...

my dad is a neocon brainwashed by FAUX. He thinks Ron is a "kook". And he loves his congressman...John Boehner. Yep..that's my deal..lol.

Strange thing though, he likes Rand Paul a lot. Rand seems to be able to appeal to a wide range of republicans and republicons alike.

Rand's margin of victory over Trey Grayson was very impressive to say in the least, especially since Grayson had the GOP backing him.

The thing about Rand is that you don't even see him coming, I didn't. Rand is like a quiet political assassin, he quietly, carefully, rips your lungs out with the precision of a surgeon. A professional. I haven't seen Rand loose his cool yet.

2016 will be very interesting.
