I think I am done with Rand.

I just dont understand this fella anymore. Selling his soul to maybe be president, selling out Libertarians, sold out his own dad.....man...it just seems like babes for leaders.

Yeah, that happens

when you're full of sh**

well, not any longer

well, not any longer

Most people thought slavery was alright at one point...

that didn't mean that the abolitionists should keep quiet and not speak out against what they knew to be wrong.

They didn't alter their views and say only some slavery was wrong and some was permissible to make their views more digestible to the general public, they boldly stated what they knew to be true and righteous, that slavery was wrong.

great

so you're gonna bring up slavery? You missed playing the Hitler card. weak.

Yeah, true, ideas evolve over time. I am for that. I am not for insisting on my own pure version of truth and calling everyone who disagrees a fascist.

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."-- Albert Einstein

I didn't call you a fascist.

I stated that if you don't meet the sole requirement to be a libertarian, then you are not a libertarian.

You can register as a member of the LP, or declare yourself to be a libertarian all you want, but simply stating that you are does not make you one.

If you can't even meet the simple criteria of adherence to the Non-Aggression Principle (the bedrock of libertarian philosophy), then you are not a libertarian.

the sole requirement to be labeled by you, you mean

I think a libertarian believes in government limited to inherent state functions, and maximum liberty.

I think the non aggression principle, which you believe is violated if there are any drug laws at all, doesn't mean what you think it means.

We agree on one thing, registering or participated at this website does not make one a libertarian. I consider this a place for people who are conspiracy theorists, slightly to moderately mentally ill, with a low level of information about how the world functions, but strong opinions about it. You are a case in point.

There are some bright exceptions. In a way, it's like high school. Vote ups and popularity, but very few people that really get it.

Back to the real world.

Ad Hominem

Always the mark of a strong argument...

yes, sort of

ad hominem attacks show weakness.

When you attacked me saying I was a government infiltrator, because I disagreed with your version of grade school internet forum libertarian puritanism, that was an ad hominem attack.

When I pointed out my opinion of the average DP member, that was not in any way an ad hominem attack, that was just my opinion. And you've done nothing to dissuade it. Have a nice day.

P.S. I know you'll try to get the last word. Won't be responding.

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."-- Albert Einstein

Read the names of the people who reply to you.

I never implied you were a "government infiltrator".

AllPaul and I, are not the same person.

"When I pointed out my opinion of the average DP member, that was not in any way an ad hominem attack, that was just my opinion. And you've done nothing to dissuade it. Have a nice day."

Let's see...

"I consider this a place for people who are conspiracy theorists, slightly to moderately mentally ill, with a low level of information about how the world functions, but strong opinions about it. You are a case in point."

You are not simply giving your opinion of what you think the average Daily Paul user is, you are specifically singling me out and claiming that I am a "case in point" for your characterization.

You are calling me a "conspiracy theorist", "mentally ill", and ignorant ("with a low level of information about how the world functions").

This is indeed an Ad Hominem attack.

Rand Lost Me

when he endorsed Rombombya on HANNITY. How can anyone here forgive that? It's like forgiving an abusive husband that keeps beating the hell out of you if you are a wife. Stop making EXCUSES for bad behavior. I tried a "time will tell" attitude with Rand, but just when I try to regain faith he pulls something that blows me away.

skippy

That's because

you have principles and can smell a pile of bull**** being called roses.

I thought it was brilliant

but you are wrong, he FIRST endorsed his father. When his father was no longer an option and everyone knew it, he gave Romney a fake, bullshit endorsement. Get over it.

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.
-Thomas Paine

Get over it?

Get over his screwing over his own father and the campaign to carry water for the Neocons? NEVER. YOU "get over" those of us who aren't buying the Neocon "genius strategy" spin on his controlled opp games.

Whose interests did that serve?

But his own?

I think you missed the significance of his last move.

If "globalist" is the term he can work with, I can work with that.

I feel your pain, I've been (and remain) a "wait and see" person about Rand - I have no idea what will happen between now and election day, no need for hasty decisions. But if Rand has to kiss "Israel" butt to appease Christians in the US, I guess we have our resident "proof" of that need, don't we? If he can't spit out "Zionism" but can say "globalist" I can make that translation. Don't give up yet, things are just getting interesting.

Love or fear? Choose again with every breath.

When he endorsed Mitt Romney...

His rationale was that he made a pledge to the Republican Party to vote for the nominee and that the primaries were "winding down". That's always stuck for me... His "Mr. Smith goes to Washington" routine with the filibuster got him a note from the White House that just said "No." after he babbled to himself for some hours, in quite a publicity stunt. Then, we get him on the MSM stating that its OK to drone strike someone when crime is afoot.

I personally think its a lost cause for him. To embrace anything but what is expedient and what he thinks will keep him elected will only serve his own petty interests and not the people. This has left us with some serious kookery. This is the trouble with him... when he made that endorsement of Romney, he wasn't representing anyone who elected him. He was representing the establishment GOP, who, he, quite cowardly stated, was responsible for his "political career". He had to repay the favor. Imagine actually running opposed by your own party and losing, you'd have to go back to being a common citizen. One of the bottom feeders... *sarcasm*.

I don't think he would make it in the Republican primaries anyway; not with his positions. Whoever his advisers are should get back in the clown car and go home... it really looks to me that the GOP hijacked Rand when he made that endorsement and will happily sail him down the river and dispense with him once he's finished completely discrediting himself to his base. I'm not sure he is aware that his base voted him in almost 100% due to his father's national prestige and reputation. That being said, if he is trying to put his distance away from that base, that got him elected to begin with, he isn't representing anyone and is only massaging his own ego.

When Ron Paul was asked about the Romney endorsement by his son, he had stated he hadn't even spoken to Rand about it... if thats even true.. well it takes some kind of person to do something like that. I don't want this guy running the country I live in. That's it for me.

I am still watching Rand.

he hasn't got my vote yet...and this does not help.

all I want is an honest

all I want is an honest discussion about positives and faults. why is that so wrong, and why do we have to choose a side, when the game has not even been announced yet?

For Liberty!!!

Sad

instead of explaining to the "Christians" why its waste of time and anti-constitutional he rather act a fool.

he's playing the fool

all puns intended

Rand Paul 2016

How quickly people forget the

frog in a boiling pot of water analogy. I do believe that Rand is going for turning this country around in degrees. One small degree at a time. Frankly, I don't care if all of you Ron Paul fans (like myself) like Rand or not. All I care about is whether or not the neocon voters like him. THAT is how he will be elected. THAT is how he won't get cheated like is father. And THAT is when he will start moving more rapidly. THAT is how it's done. Can't turn a plane around on a dime people! Like RP said. Common sense.

The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion.
-Thomas Paine

So you

Are saying, some one has to sell out their own beliefs in order to get elected. Then what is the point? If Rand becomes President do you consider that a win in your books? The Neo-Cons lost! Twice already against Obama. They are losers and we should never show them sympathy. We need some one like Ron who always tells the truth even if it is going to hurt your feelings.

No you're

not allowed to turn it around slowly, it has to be now. Fuck Rand, damn any progress!

When Ron

comes out against his son, then I will.

"Endless money forms the sinews of war." - Cicero, www.freedomshift.blogspot.com

Ron Will

Never go against his son because I am sure he feels that he can change his sons mind over anybody else in the world, but still this is a horrible move by Rand.

So you're

saying that Ron will sell out his principles just to make his son happy, damn that two face! I think he knows where his son's mind is.

"Endless money forms the sinews of war." - Cicero, www.freedomshift.blogspot.com

No, I just

Haven't heard him say anything bad about his son. Did you? He keeps souping him up every now and then, So, yeah, I truly believe Ron will never say anything bad about his son.

Or

You could try thinking for yourself.

Ok

Romney voter.

"Endless money forms the sinews of war." - Cicero, www.freedomshift.blogspot.com

Wow

That's quite the leap. Just sayin', I don't know why you need to wait for someone else's opinion before you can make your own.
