Obama And "Tradition"

Has anyone else noticed how often Obama uses the word "tradition" in place of "the supreme law of the land"? I feel like it's his way of "putting his toe in the water" to see how people will react. If they don't get upset then he knows it's an issue where he can try to push forward and take away more liberties. It's a very slippery/slimy tactic.

"I can tell you that if you've got the IRS operating in anything less than a neutral and nonpartisan way, then that is outrageous, it is contrary to our traditions and people have to be held accountable and it's gotta be fixed," Obama said during a joint appearance with British Prime Minister David Cameron.

Decisions regarding the disposition of detainees captured on foreign battlefields have traditionally been based upon the judgment of experienced military commanders and national security professionals without unwarranted interference by Members of Congress. Section 1025 threatens to upend that tradition, and could interfere with my ability as Commander in Chief to make time-sensitive determinations about the appropriate disposition of detainees in an active area of hostilities.

"...but we tortured some folks."

Here's Obama again trying to sound like a friendly voice with his use of the word "folks". Also, he talks about "values" instead of calling the constitution (which should guide his behavior) the "supreme law of the land". Instead he's making it out to be a "value judgment" and he's saying our country did things contrary to its values.

"In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, we did some things that were wrong. We did a whole lot of things that were right, but we tortured some folks. We did things that were contrary to our values."

This man disgusts me utterly

This man disgusts me utterly.

There is nobody on earth who can get to anywhere close to imagine how much the LIAR's game infuriates me.

I've been reading into his carefully crafted rhetoric and dialectic for a while now.

I know he is unable of making a speech without a prompter, but I have no doubts he spends great amounts of time to review or prepare himself the deception mastery put in his speeches.

He betrays words and usages at every single sentence.

He debases the ideas that are against his tyrannical tastes in every possible ways.

"Tradition" with its loose, weak, vague, subjective sense was carefully chosen in the case of the second Amendment.

What a cold, dark, calculating "soul" this man has.

It's amazing.

This sociopath makes Lincoln's works look like a friendly, warm part of the American legacy.

Utter deception busy at work and aiming at expanding the lowest, lamest, most immoral part of the American people.

Always more Bread and Circus for his wanna-be slaves. And complete planned plunder for everybody else.

That's all there is to every of his actions.

I'm not so sure he is a puppet like the others, btw.

I swear, I'd hate to be right on that intuition.

"Cyril" pronounced "see real". I code stuff.

Obama is a very strategic and intentional wordsmith. He is trying to change the culture through language. Yours is an astute observation. A tradition can be changed, a law must be upheld.

It's interesting that this post has only 1 response

I agree w you that language is being used as a tactic. Ron Paul talks about definitions as well (e.g. The definition of "inflation")
