Associated Press feels the wrath of the Orwellian police state government it helped put into power

(NaturalNews) Associated Press reporters are outraged over recent revelations that the Obama administration engaged in a "sweeping seizure" of the private phone records of AP reporters as part of a Justice Department investigation. No probable cause was given to anyone, and hundreds of AP reporters were simply deemed guilty by the government as their phone call records were confiscated without explanation.

Politico is now reporting:

The behind-the-scenes anger -- and heads-down determination of the AP staff members to keep doing their jobs amid the extraordinary public flap -- comes as top executives from the wire service have mounted an aggressive public pushback against DOJ, calling its snooping a "massive and unprecedented intrusion" in a letter fired off to Attorney General Eric Holder. And yet something of a bunkerlike atmosphere has taken hold at the AP in Washington with no bureau-wide meetings or announcements about the DOJ's action, AP sources told POLITICO.

But what's not being reported is that the Associated Press helped create the very police state it now condemns for violating its freedoms and privacy.

1914. Attorney General conceded phone records to ATT.

Circa 1914. What the Telephone Map Shows ~ creation of a Telephone Monopoly]
[From the original document] EVERY dot on the map marks a town where there is a telephone exchange, the same sized dot being used for a large city as for a small village. Some of these exchanges are owned by the Associated Bell companies and some by independent companies. Where joined together in one system they meet the needs of each community and, with their suburban lines, reach 70,000 places and over 8,000,000 subscribers.

The pyramids show that only a minority of the exchanges are Bell-owned, and that the greater majority of the exchanges are owned by independent companies and connected with the Bell System.

At comparatively few points are there two telephone companies, and there are comparatively few exchanges, chiefly rural, which do not have outside connections.

The recent [1913] agreement between the Attorney General of the United States and the Bell System will facilitate connections between all telephone subscribers regardless of who owns the exchanges.

Over 8,000 different telephone companies have already connected their exchanges to provide universal service for the whole country.

Comment: In 1910, Florida had over 750,000 people. Nevada had only 81,000; yet, seems they had similar number of telephone exchanges. By comparison, Colorado also had about 750,000 people; it had twice the exchanges of Florida. Colorado was dominated by one large city. Denver had almost a quarter million. In 1910 Miami only had 5,000 people. Jacksonville, only had 58,000.

I Really Think The AP Is Part Of a Dog and Pony Show

They are owned by the same ptb that tell Obama what to do. Seems like a diversion to me.

The rank and file at the AP may be shocked but the upper management was complicit, I have no doubt. I mean, these are people who lie for a living while trying to act like there is still such a thing as integrity in journalism. Boohoo AP rats. U got served

Blatant act of deception

Blatant act of deception, same goes for the fake IRS fiasco

I'm so glad this happened to the AP

Obama's lapdog media just got kicked in the rear, and now they bear their teeth and bark like chihuahuas. Time they eat their own dog food.

But I'd be more than happy to see a few bull mastiffs in their ranks make short order of this administration, if there are any.

If they have

nothing to hide then why are they upset?

At least that's what they have all been saying about the American People complaining about various losses or attacks on our rights!

If they just apologize...

...then all will be forgiven. Just like the IRS thing.
