Gold To Soar As West Enters A Frightening Economic Ice Age

Despite the smash today in gold and silver, one of the most well connected hedge fund managers in the world told King World News that gold is heading thousands of dollars higher as the West enters a frightening economic “Ice Age.” Outspoken Hong Kong hedge fund manager William Kaye also discussed how America and its middle class will emerge from the coming financial destruction. Kaye, who 25 years ago worked for Goldman Sachs in mergers and acquisitions, had this to say in the fourth and final segment of his written interview series with KWN.

Kaye: “This is not a good setup. This is a setup in which gold has been suppressed, and paper instruments that people own have been artificially inflated. So when the system collapses on itself, and it will, the inevitable result will be that gold will be reset upwards (in price) somewhere between $5,000 and $10,000....

This is like building a new and improved Titanic.

It's bigger, faster, and even has a thicker hull. No matter; the ice berg is still going to win. Gold is formidable and has the track record of an iceberg in the way of this ship. The man-made ship is no match for the force of Nature.

Truth. The markets always prevail eventually.

Truth. The markets always prevail eventually.

Even in chaos, be they required to go black.

Real stuff is real stuff. And gold is the ultimate store of value. For any stuff.

Who can store value in diamonds usefully? In oil? Becomes pretty quick a major PIA.

Even land and walls... not the worst store, but isn't it true one CAN bring walls down?

As for fiat "paper money"... it can only but burn in the end.

Ashes. Value sent to oblivion.

Thanks for pointing this one out, Sierra.

Well, Mr. Kaye and the OP can be reassured: the only "paper instruments" I temporarily own are actually made mostly out of cotton, of greenish color, not smelling good, and used for the sole purpose of paying irreducible recurring bills and food.

Everything else I DO own is real stuff, paid off, easily movable, quite mobile even, and can be traded easily. Zero-debt, mobility, and guns: your next best allies! :)

I'm buying silver again when it hits $15.00

Gold I figure under $1000.00 will be about right.

They will get there unfortunately before they ever go up again I fear.

The paper-stock-bubble being built right now is going to cause a crash so big they won't be able to stop it next time.

So anyone selling their metals now is nuts.

The sheeples are being lulled into a false sense of well-being and that all's well.

But all is NOT well.

Austrians - HOLD onto your principles.
Right now is a rather difficult time for us Austrians because everyone argues that we were wrong because their stock portfolios are up and soaring.

Maybe so but it's a bubble.

A huge Federal Reserve-Socialist-Facist bubble.

No you won't. If it would get

No you won't. If it would get that low there will be NONE to buy. OR, You won't pay 15. You will still pay 25.00 or more.

Fiat money

or any money, only has as much value as the market think it has. and the market doesn't take kindly for any currency that can be indefinitely be produced.

that guy is a shill. Next week will tell all.

Interesting

That guy says that he's "bearish on gold" because he compares it historically to inflation of the US dollar. His numbers show that it should be at $900/ounce using that strategy.

Though, if you ask Bernanke the rate of inflation is at 2%.

Some pressure still over the short term

There is some pressure still over the short term because of the stronger dollar. Long term, eventually, all the gold bulls will be right.

Notes:

I am dollar bullish.
I am gold bullish.
I am silver bullish.
I am still in the overall deflation camp (prices aren't what constitute deflation or inflation) with the current credit contraction the Fed is fighting with bouts of QE only propping up stocks and real estate for the short term, setting up an eventual pop in their bubble along with Treasuries. Until that time, treasuries are still going to stay strong with the dollar because of perception. This is what has put pressure on gold and silver prices.

I will be writing an article in the next 10 days that is bullish on the metals with an 80% probability of being correct.

Time to watch the Bulls and Blackhawks so don't expect any reply until tomorrow. We've waited a long time for this gold and silver smack down to end. At least it won't last as long as us Cubs fans waiting for a World Series Championship!
