And I thought folks on this

And I thought folks on this site could recognize dog and pony shows for what they are. Guess not.

Outrage expressed in words is meaningless. Sometimes worse than meaningless really, because they provide emotional release to pent up frustration, inhibiting real action.

Who thinks Congressman Kelly gives a rats behind about what's happening at the IRS? Congressman Kelly cares about one thing - the same thing everybody in DC cares about- retaining his power. So he tries to look tough for his outraged constituents.

Politicians like this clown are the ultimate dog and pony artists.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

They act like it is surprising - something new??

The entire IRS claims exemption from the 1st 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th and 9th amendments in the US Constitutional Bill of Rights.

Now the IRS has adopted the "Tax Payers Bill of Rights"
http://www.irs.gov/Taxpayer-Bill-of-Rights

Isn't it wonderful to know that a bureaucrats who love you are endowing rights to you as a taxpayer.

Never mind that they have been in violation of law from the second they forced someone into involuntary servitude especially in a manner that requires one to give up all privacy to an organization known for its violence.

The IRS has been in violation of the Taxpayers Bill of Rights since the second they adopted it.

They are designed to ensure that Tax cases never see a jury trial and use threats fear and intimidation of heavy fines if you do ever challenge them. When one reads their final justification in 'case law' and internal rulings of what makes taxes applicable it is because if you are born in the United States and you are a 'citizen of the United States' and therefore have tax liabilities. You never got to decide if you consent to a contract obligation, they decided for you, in essence they openly claim we are born into bondage. The only logical conclusion here is that we are in debt slavery dictated by thieves that use violent force to force us to use unlawful tender that is an intrinsically devaluing interest bearing private bank's debt note and that the sole purpose of the IRS is to ensure this agenda is forced by any means necessary including extreme violence and the complete destruction of people's lives.

The IRS is the single largest criminal threat to American's there is. But if the obvious is stated they will just respond to repeated requests for redress with repeated injury.

Ask yourself who else does business like this? What would happen to you if you tried to do to someone else what the IRS is doing to others? This is how real law is discovered; what is equal behavior amongst people. I would never do to someone else what the IRS does to everyone.

Superficial Resolution

My gut turns a little when I see too much emotional release. Don't be too happy. It makes you blind.

Often people become emotionally satisfied while no real change has occurred. Then they settle for what only feels like resolution.

The Government can "send a message" to it's opponents (whistle blowers, etc..), yet the populous can barely get even emotional release, much less justice or a corrected system.

More government systems means more potential for corruption.
Much less is much better.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

The Pennsylvania Republican Party is a piece of shit!

Any Party that would spend over $200,000 to get another's parties candidates off the ballot and failed is criminal. That is what the Pa Republican Nazi Party did to the Libertarian Party last election. But the Pa Libertarian Party fought in court and made state history by beating their Nazi asses! I am sorry most of Pa Republican Candidates are religious Nazi jackasses that don't respect the constitution or freedom. Rick Santourum is the normal Republican Candidate in Pennsylvania, The Republican Nazi Party must die in Pa!

"The Pennsylvania Republican Party is a piece of sh|t!"

They are every bit as ignorant and corrupt as the other party.

At the republican meeting last week, some touted kelly as a strong and true patriot. Printed material showing otherwise (kelly's horrid voting record) incited hostility and they refused to acknowledge it. The movement is gaining steam though, we packed the house and brought in YAL, YR, and the like. Our numbers are growing.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

At 2:24 he says when you get

At 2:24 he says when you get a letter from the IRS it's with "Terror" that you look at it. So when a IRS agent comes for an audit you should call the terrorist hotline and report him.

I wish this scandal happened

I wish this scandal happened while Ron Paul was in congress... He would've been all over the TV news saying: "Now is the time to abolish the IRS"... And many millions of Americans would finally agree with him.

Abolish the IRS

A very good point about what Dr. Paul would likely be doing if he were still in the Congress, and I agree.
Interesting why Mr. Kelly didn't bring this up, and why is Rand and his cohorts in the Senate NOT talking about this issue, when this should be the "hot topic" for today.
Abolish the IRS, this is the "terrorist" most Americans fear.
Rand, are you listening?

How far is Rand willing to go.

The IRS is a criminal gang of thugs committing extortion and completely destroying all privacy.

It seems Rand will not state the obvious because he is playing politics nor do I believe he would work as president to ensure the Attorney General performs criminal investigations on everyone involved in the IRS and US Tax Court System. These people are denying jury trials, purposefully stacking the scales of justice in their favor and destroying innocent people's lives. They are literally operating outside the law and denying lawful justice before juries. They can attack you in a non jury system without liability for them but only allow the 'taxpayer' to other courts if the taxpayer brings the case with their own liability under certain conditions that also require agreement to heavy fines if found to be 'frivolous' by a judge not a jury. They're operating in broad daylight as criminal outlaws. They are THE definition of a criminal racket and have proven beyond all reasonable doubt to be the single largest criminal threat to Americans. The lack of privacy sourced through their criminality is what makes every American vulnerable to complete enslavement to all color of law criminals as well as international banking interest who are funding warfare all over the world and controlling most of the political spectrum.

The IRS is an active and growing danger to people's safety but Rand says little. Taxing people's income inherently violates the 4th amendment and is not even a requirement if we just bring the fraud to justice but that is ignored.

The most powerful Law of Nature is Time. It is finite and we all will run out of it. Use this Law to your advantage, for it offers you infinite possibilities...

Oh, you forgot

Mr. Kelly you forgot to tell Mr. Miller the American people are outraged, and someone will be going to JAIL for these crimes.
If no crime has been committed, then this is all just for show and nothing will come of it.
Who's going to JAIL?

He didn't ask what he knew and when

but Rep. Kelly did ask this retiring commissioner how many layers and levels of leadership does it take to make and question policies like his Cincinnati office carried out. The commissioner admitted to no layer between them and his own desk; without saying so directly, nor expressing any real concern for implying such!

Kelly's candor and controlled outrage stirred the audience to break the Congressional hearing protocols; but who can blame them! Hereafter, whoever takes this commissioners' office ought to be required to have this replayed for him everyday before he starts his "service" chores.

IRS is about financial disclosure not taxes

Back when I was in grad school I didn't really pay taxes. But I used to gamble on stocks a lot. It's a hassle to file a schedule d? Compared with 1040ez so I went to IRS office and told them I did a lot of trading but didnt make any money. Rather than file the onerous forms and pay no taxes I offered to pay her $50 and skip the forms. She said no. I said $100. She said no. I explained if I filled out the forms, the IRS would get no money. She said she would audit me. I told she would waste a bunch more money and get no revenue. I repeated my offer of $100. But she said they want the forms not the money.

did you have a point to make? and if so,

what was it?

just curious...

The IRS is not about revenue

When given a choice between raising revenue for government and building a database of all my nontaxable financial transactions, the irs will opt to spy, threaten and violating the fourth and fifth amendments, not raise money

I believe it was the fact

I believe it was the fact that they dont care about the money, just that people do what they are told and give them their info.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Great questioning.

A lot of good quotes.

"You can put anybody out of business that you want any time you want and I got to tell you, you talk about how you are a horrible run organization if you are on the other side of the fence you are not given that excuse and when the IRS comes in there you are not allowed to be shoddy, you are not allowed to be run horribly, you are not allowed to make mistakes you are not allowed to do one damn thing that doesn't come in compliance, if you do you are held responsible right then."

and "I don't know"

lawyer/ commissioner, Steve Miller -- that'll get you an audit by the IRS -- sir.

Why the Democrats left...

I know why the Democrats left.

They know that what this Ron Paul ally and radio talk show host says here is true. The IRS scandal has sealed the fate of the Democratic Party. With one fell swoop, the Democrats' credibility has been shattered forever and they may now begin to lose momentum faster then even we "pundits" here on the DP expected:

Agree. Best Rant.

After all the Dems left, showmanship got a lot better. Like Reed's rant. Arkansas's Griffin (next after Reed) deserved a SO, too -- he came prepared -- but only got a chuckle. He's the only one who attacked IG George. At 2 min. watch the guy behind George. But like everyone here, I too agree, this all is a lawyer's dog and pony show. Meaningless at this point --because it only shows the 'gift-of-gab' that got them elected in the first place... .

what a waste of time this is

what a waste of time

this is just grandstanding so he can fundraise -- he didn't even ask one question that everyone in the world didn't know

a good interrogation puts the witness against the wall and makes him sweat and quiver (ie RP when he grills Bernanke)

I can't believe this site is turning into a GOP cheerleading section

Nice show. Academy nomination.

Legislators could have pulled these fangs a thousand times for a thousand good reasons but everybody likes the viper when they get to use it in power.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

He wasted his time

He should have asked more direct questions and led the witness to speak, and speak often. This guy ranted, sure, but he could have done that on someone else's time, than the People's, especially in light of the fact that this man was under oath of perjury and in front of cameras. I do believe the best hearings are always when the witness says something he shouldn't have, but did, because he was under oath. This doesn't give whistleblowers a chance. IF you asked this guy direct questions and got him to feel like he must tell the truth, regardless of what questions asked, in front of the People, good souls talk - or at least sweat, turn red, and get uncomfortable when they lie. Either way, it is more effective than ranting.

This IRS Fella Could Care Less What This Congressman Thinks

America needs to hang all of these people and then abolish the IRS and give the people their money back that these crooks stole..

Why should the offshore bankers reap the fruits of our labors.. They have pointed the barrel of their guns at us and threatened us with imprisonment, having to pay late fees and other assessments because they own our collective a#ss us and because 'THEY CAN!

We put up with way too much tyranny. Someday all of these bastards are going to get SLAUGHTERED IN THE STREETS for all the bad they have done..
