Bacon smells like Bacon, oh the humanity, let's shut it down !

This story is so bizarre that I wasn't quite sure which category it should go under.

San Fran, not known as a stronghold of liberty and freedom since the psychedelic days of free love has once again gone beyond the pale to prove she is nothing but the poster child of rules gone wild.
How any sane person would want to live there is beyond me, ( a whack at my BiL whos a prosecuter for the State there )as it seems the only business that thrives is the one where everybody minds someone else's for the sole purpose of controlling what the other person does.

This just didn't seem

right - I've worked at many restaurants and my husband is GM of a sports bar and I've never worked anywhere that didn't use oil recyclers. I went to Bacon Bacon's FB page and here's the photo's of their grease trap and how they recycle their grease. I don't think this is about the the grease, it's about the smell.

From their FB Page
"Oh silly newspaper. For the record this is our grease trap, our 50 gal grease drum that gets picked up in Tuesday, your paper, and Liz's car which runs on our bacon grease.
Ps. Can't wait to just post pictures of our food you enjoying it"

This guy will take it

willing to pay

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

San Francisco is a hotbed of homebrew biodiesel...

Why they wouldn't sell their used cooking oil for $2 per gallon instead of dumping it into the local water supply is beyond me.

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

That might be to conservative an idea

To profit from a waste product, it just might not occur to them at all.
Now an enterprising person, conservative libertarian of course, might say start a business where they can charge a business owner .50¢ per gallon to " take care of it for them, to help them out you know....", then resell it to the BioConversion plant themselves....hm that's now $2.50 a gallon profit.......
I just might call my BiL and suggest he do a start up, he might be liberal but he sure loves money.

Or the restaurant could pour it into their own vehicles...

No chemistry or biorefining required - just a good filtration system.
