Do Ron Paul supporters all believe in the 2nd Amendment?

Can you own an assault rifle? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_rifle
Is it an individual right? Or, is it a "collective" right?
http://snappoll.com/poll/246563.php
Do you have a right to own any gun under California law? Well, the answer is, of course, "No."
Think I'm wrong? Look it up.

I believe in our right to
I believe in our right to keep in bear arms! Any guns allowed!
vote Ron Paul!

JFK on the subject
They didn't include this in the text books.

JOHN F. KENNEDY, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
"Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."
"By calling attention to 'a well regulated militia,' the 'security' of the nation, and the right of each citizen 'to keep and bear arms,' our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny, which gave rise to the Second Amendment, will ever be a major danger to our nation, the Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the Second Amendment will always be important."
Tooth fairy
The second amendment exists, it is real.
It is also backed by recent legal precedent as an individual right.
I do not believe in the tooth fairy.
Picking and choosing parts of the Bill of Rights and Constitution is what got the US to the sorry state it is in. Bush2 just ignores all the laws, Congress ignores their responsibilities to keep George in check.
The majority are in breech of their oath of office. A hanging offense, IMO ;)
You can debate the commas, capitalization and intent of the second amendment - but not the fact that it exists.
We see where picking and choosing got us. We see also where ignoring the entirety of the Bill of Rights and Constitution has brought us. It is time to stop the debate and just follow the laws as they were written and intended. I BELIEVE we will be a better nation for doing so.
in Illinois...

SECTION 22. RIGHT TO ARMS
Subject only to the police power, the right of the
individual citizen to keep and bear arms shall not be
infringed.
(Source: Illinois Constitution.)
...of course Richard Dailey and our Governor want to change this...
2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
they don't need to change it...
"subject only to the police power" says it all. You have no rights.

how can it...
be subject to "police power"...if it..."shall not be infringed"? that would be infringing on it, don't you think?
2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
So, you can buy 20 handguns at one time in Chicago?
Or does the "police power" prevent that? Can you drive down the street with a loaded gun in your car or does the "police power" prevent that? Can a teacher carry a concealed weapon onto a high school campus, or does the "police power" prevent that? For that matter, can you walk down the street anywhere in Illinois carrying a gun (without first asking permission from your masters)? I'd be surprised if you answered "yes" to any of these.
You tell me what your state Constitution protects or is everything infringed?

i'm not arguing with you...

oh, okay... i thought you were very proud of it...
but, so far I've yet to hear anyone prove me wrong. You don't have the right to own a gun in California. Nor, I suspect, in Illinois, either.

by the way...
"subject to the police power"...only means..."while incarcerated"...that was it's original intent anyway...

Anyone who supports Ron Paul...
...also supports the 2nd Amendment. Everyone who thinks it through will support it, even people like myself who have never owned a gun.
A California tragedy...
The MSM will cover school shootings non-stop for 48 hours... but, I bet you never heard of The California Child Pitchfork Murders unless you happened to live in Merced, California or regularly logged onto Second Amendment websites. Well, here is a true story of what California gun control laws did to a law-abiding California family: The California Child Pitchfork Murders.
Don't read this version of the story unless you have some tissues nearby:
Daddy Don't Cry
It's a story coming soon to your state, if Hillary, Obama or McCain is elected.

California?
I just bought a Springfield XD40 with a 12-round capacity magazine. The only thing about it that makes it illegal in CA is the fact that the mag has more than a 10-round capacity.
I knew that the laws in CA were much harsher than they are here (in AZ), but why do you think you can't own guns in CA?
I never said you can't own a gun in California...
I said you don't have the right to own a gun in California (at least, not one that is protected by the 2nd Amendment). You can buy a gun at the whim of your masters (as long as they don't make the gun you want illegal) because the 9th Circuit has interpreted the 2nd Amendment to mean that there is no right of an individual to own a gun in California.
I think Arizona is part of the 9th Circuit's jurisdiction, too. So, you as an Arizonan don't have the right to own a gun, either. You can own one until they say otherwise.

Just ran across this one...I
Just ran across this one...I think it reflects my view well
Democracy: Two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.
Representative democracy: Two thousand wolves and one thousand sheep electing two wolves and a sheep who vote on what to have for dinner.
Constitutional republic: Two thousand wolves and one thousand sheep electing two wolves and a sheep who vote on what to have for dinner, but are restricted by a Constitution that says they cannot eat sheep. The Supreme Court then votes 5 wolves to 4 sheep that mutton does not count as sheep.
Liberty: Well-armed sheep contesting the above votes.
Actually..
Here is PA, you can get a rocket launcher with the right classification and an endorsement. And none of it requires being millitary or public service affiliated.

Anyone not sold that gun
Anyone not sold that gun control is not for safety, it's for government tyranny without threat of opposition, watch this video. Shocking and real:

From my cold dead fingers....
From my cold dead fingers....
To those who think that the 2nd amendment is only for militias..
I suggest you read all of the underlying thoughts expressed in the various writings of those who proposed that amendment.
The USA in my opinion, WAS the only free country ever created on this planet.
It's creation was the product of many chance situations.
The biggest reason for it's creation was the fact that England had other wars and situations to deal with. Which left the colonies relatively on their own.
This fostered a sense of freedom and self-governing not seen before in history.
Combine this with the fact that our founders were very well read, educated and spent much time reflecting on the causes of tyranny (and the pitfalls of government)...
and the result is the greatest and most well thought out document in history....
THE CONSTITUTION.
In opposition of what "modernists" say, it is not outdated and in fact takes into consideration EVERY slight, EVERY piece of undermining legislation and EVERY political situation that has reduced our freedoms since.
The founders counted on our VIGILANCE. Our ability to review and to re-learn what they learned the hard way.
For the last 200 years European bankers and "king makers" have been attempting to reverse the freedoms that the constitution has given us (successfully I might add).
The right to bear arms was recognized by the brilliant minds of our founders as the only way to keep the usurpers of freedom in check. Unfortunately the "king makers" have successfully indoctrinated MILLIONS of us to not forget 2nd amendment but rather to see it as "outdated."
You have to give them credit. They've done a great job. The average person on the street feels that there is some reason that the average person should either a. not be able to bear arms or b. should be screened and have any arms they do have registered (making it far easier for the government to track and disarm who they choose).
For those of you unfamiliar with how incremental change works, you might want to review the figurative story of the BOILING FROG...

Yes
If it wasn't a right, why would it be in a "Bill of Rights"??????
Am Ashamed to Say
that there was a time when I actually believed (as the mass media told me to believe) than gun ownership was the reason for violence. No more. I now understand my rights. I also understand the plan for America. When would I need a gun? Let me count the times... Just one:
If some of the universal health care plans I have heard of, most particularly Hillary's, go into effect I could be told that it is mandatory that my grandchildren be tested for all kinds of things and then inoculated against all kinds of things and perhaps even put on drugs permanently (and I might add on drugs made in China with no oversight/or manufactured by Merc with no concern for the future health of my child). I might be told that everyone has to go through this "procedure" to hold down health care costs by "preventative" or "early diagnosis".....you know. Pre-emptive strike philosophy. Is this a possibility? Yes, sadly the direction we are headed in.
I need the social security I have paid in to and will qualify for in a few years. However, I know that I will be required to have a National ID...perhaps even chip by then...in order to "qualify" for it (and that is assuming it will even be available).
And, I don't know what that stuff is that makes the sky look so funny and I don't know if the genetically modified seed wafts into my organic farmers field and I don't know what all those secret detention centers are. I'm not a conspiracy nut....I'm just awake. And yes, I believe in the 2nd amendment now. Almost everyone on this site does now. Most of us know why Ron Paul is running and getting the message out. We are running out of time. These things are just around the corner. The North American Union is about a done deal...2010. The economy is going to get much worse before then....but these "other travesties" are on our doorstep...in our frontyard. Books have been written about them. Documents are all over the internet. Mass media is quite transparent now to some of us.
Yes, I am for the second amendment.
