Derrick Grayson *TMOT* announces U.S. Senate campaign!

Atlanta, Georgia, May 23, 2013 – Minister Derrick E. Grayson, a Republican and Georgia native has announced that he is running for the U.S. Senate representing the people of the Great State of Georgia.

"There is no doubt that many Americans are struggling and hurting. Despite all the promises by our elected officials, career politicians, and so-called leaders, many people all across this great nation are finding it more and more difficult to cope with the various challenges brought about by out of touch politicians.

The erosion of personal freedom and liberty as a result of federal policy and legislation is alarming. Instead of encouraging job creation, current policies promote a culture of dependence on big government and welfare programs.

It is time we go back to the conservative values and the principles of limited government and individual responsibility that helped to make America a great nation. The days of self serving politicians and those who seek enrichment by special interest are over. Americans are capable of making decision for ourselves. We don’t need more so-called leaders. We can determine our own destiny. What we need now are strong and principled voices that will stand and represent the will of ‘We the People’ and who will honor the oath to support and defend the Constitution.”

A veteran of the U.S. Navy and now Senior Network Engineer for MARTA, Mr. Grayson has been a very vocal critic of the expansion and over reach of the federal government, as well as the growing dependency on government and entitlement programs...

UPDATE: The highly democratic city of Atlanta needs to hear his message. Read the below article and let's see if we can help him out.

UPDATE 2:With one exception, the media and press have chosen to ignore this announcement and have focused only on the establishment candidates (including a non-politician but wealthy cousin of former governor Sonny Purdue).

Please take a minute or two to email call or fax and demand that ALL candidates be included in the reportings.

Potentially A Great Senator

I don't agree with Tmot on some stuff, but so what? I think he'd be a great defender of liberty and a unique (haha) voice in the Senate.

When the press black you out

you know you are on the right track.

Why is he complaining? He

Why is he complaining? He should of been out there campaigning today

If you followed him you would know

That he is a Veteran himself. He has said he doesn't like the idea of politicians campaigning and pandering to veteran groups on memorial day, especially when they have nothing to say about veteran issues (suicides, unjust war, wars for foreign resources, wars at the behest of corporate giants, etc) the rest of the time.

I am curious how you seem to be suggesting that as a veteran, his spending time with his family on memorial day is somehow an excuse for the media, or reason that he should not call out the obvious media bias.

It matters not if you agree with the man on his position on issues. At least he is practising what he preaches and trying to CHANGE things for the better.

Begs the question; Are you a liberty lover or not?

"What have you done for me (liberty) lately?"

He might not win? Who cares? By his running we all win. Was it a waste of time for Ron Paul to run in 2008 and 2012? Hell no! Look at the millions he reached. TMOT is an excellent advocate and will reach thousands of people with the message of liberty, and I'm glad he's running. And with a large field, who knows?

In fact, I think I'm going to contribute fifty bucks -- RIGHT NOW!

Senator TMOT?

I doubt it.

Guys, let's get real please. We're talking about a guy who makes youtube videos from his car. Yes, he's cool but a Senate race? You do know that the youtube 'thumbs up' don't count as primary votes?

bigmikedude's picture

Dude... If 'this' doofis got elected

thinking that the island of "Guam might tip over and capsize" then it is clear that luck and support is all anyone needs, and anyone can get elected.

Enjoy some 'elected official' I.Q.:

Anyone here on DP could give half of these elected morons a run for their money.

lol that is funny.... but he

lol that is funny.... but he won a much smaller race than Senate. Anyway, have fun. There's no point in liberty if you don't have fun with it I guess.

Hadn't seen that. Thanks for posting.

some guy like us or some

some guy like us or some slimeball who has worn a suit his whole life and has never had a job. You think the slimeball is better suited for the senate? This guy here has just as good a chance as anyone, as long as we dont have attitudes like this.

you're offering a false

you're offering a false choice between TMOT and a slimeball. Rand won as a nobody because of 1. he campaigned endlessly 2. his dad.

Peter Schiff is super rich and he only did about 1000 times better than I expect TMOT to do.

Ron Paul couldn't even win a Senate seat in Texas.

You guys gotta get real. TMOT should be supporting someone with his youtube videos, not diverting resources.

What resources are you referring to?

And who should benefit from the "resources" in your opinion and why?

An alternative to the MSM Machine http://freedombroadcastingnetwork.com/
Ron Paul friendly news: http://www.newsetal.com/

resources could be money,

resources could be money, volunteers, staff, even DP front page space... if you've been helping these last few years, you should already have a pretty good idea of what's needed in a campaign.

Who should benefit from these resources? We should, or they're flushed down the drain.

With the alternative would being what?

Support no one and hope for the best, or support who? The question of why naturally follows.

I would support the Ron Paul

I would support the Ron Paul endorsed guy. The reason why is, TMOT will get creamed in an election.

Look, you guys have fun but it's a silly idea if you believe it will go anywhere. If you're looking for a hobby, get on board. If you're looking for a victory, back a better horse. That's all I'm saying.

I heard about that and saw some kind words the good Dr.

said about that other guy. However, I've yet to see an actual endorsement. Can you provide a link to that endorsement from Dr. Paul?

Thank you, Rhysw, for the month old endorsement.

Now I gotta wonder why TMOT would choose to go up against him at this point in time, instead of supporting Dr. Paul's endorsement. That is going to bother me and I gotta wonder about TMOT, whom I respect(ed?).

Maybe because

not everyone bases their actions on Ron Paul's.

Besides, if you didn't know, then who's to say that TMOT didn't know either?

A signature used to be here!

No, they don't but, is the goal the same?

If so, then what's the advantage of going against someone already in the race?

I don't live in that State and am not running for any office in that State. Wouldn't one know who and what he or she is running up against, BEFORE deciding to throw a hat into the ring?

The other guy (Broun) is no liberty lover

Think about this. He is a sitting congressman (supported Patriot Act, NDAA, foreign aid, unconditional support of Israel, supports pre-emptive action on Iran, and not to mention he a religious bigot!)who would have almost certainly got re-elected in his district.

However being a congressman isn't good enough for Broun. He is risking his House seat in a hope to win Senate. If he loses, he loses BOTH. If he wins, you get a war monger for Senator, and who knows who gets his House seat.

If TMOT wins you get a champion of liberty for all in the Senate. If he loses, you get a strong voice calling out the corruption and status quo.

Who outside of Georgia's 10th district has ever heard of Paul Broun?

Where was Paul Broun when Dr. Paul was running for president?

Who defended liberty and Dr. Paul more vocally and publicly without any thought or care for its political ramifications?

Who is the real champion for liberty for ALL?

Aside from that, TMOT can build bridges, Broun I would bet hasn't got a single brown skinned supporter in the entire state!

Here are some comments from the Rand on Paul Broun

Not that I think you should base your support on what someone else thinks, but it might help to see the political dynamics at play here.

From the Daily Beast:
“Bush Republicans haven’t been doing very well out here in a long time,” Paul tells me in an interview on his trip to the West Coast. “A libertarian-style Republican would do better out here.”

The effect that anti-science stereotypes have on Republicans cannot be underestimated. “It’s hard to side with a party that’s still trying to reach out to their base of creationists,” said Obama campaign engineer Johnvey Hwang, in a San Jose Mercury News investigation of why Republicans can’t get traction in the valley.

So, as proof of his seriousness, Paul was quick to throw his science-skeptical colleagues under the bus. “Most Republicans live in this century, not two or three centuries ago,” he said, responding to questions about Georgia Rep. Paul Broun’s notorious YouTube rant, in which he called evolution and the Big Bang “lies straight from the pit of Hell.”

You won me over with the first paragraph of your

first reply. Too bad I don't live in Georgia, or I'd vote for TMOT. Then again, nothing against the good people of Georgia but, I don't want to live there. I don't really want to live in NJ either. Oh well. Maybe someday I'll find a place to live happily.

Guess who's working on graphics and branding for TMOT?!
