Derrick Grayson *TMOT* announces U.S. Senate campaign!

Atlanta, Georgia, May 23, 2013 – Minister Derrick E. Grayson, a Republican and Georgia native has announced that he is running for the U.S. Senate representing the people of the Great State of Georgia.

"There is no doubt that many Americans are struggling and hurting. Despite all the promises by our elected officials, career politicians, and so-called leaders, many people all across this great nation are finding it more and more difficult to cope with the various challenges brought about by out of touch politicians.

The erosion of personal freedom and liberty as a result of federal policy and legislation is alarming. Instead of encouraging job creation, current policies promote a culture of dependence on big government and welfare programs.

It is time we go back to the conservative values and the principles of limited government and individual responsibility that helped to make America a great nation. The days of self serving politicians and those who seek enrichment by special interest are over. Americans are capable of making decision for ourselves. We don’t need more so-called leaders. We can determine our own destiny. What we need now are strong and principled voices that will stand and represent the will of ‘We the People’ and who will honor the oath to support and defend the Constitution.”

A veteran of the U.S. Navy and now Senior Network Engineer for MARTA, Mr. Grayson has been a very vocal critic of the expansion and over reach of the federal government, as well as the growing dependency on government and entitlement programs...

UPDATE 2:With one exception, the media and press have chosen to ignore this announcement and have focused only on the establishment candidates (including a non-politician but wealthy cousin of former governor Sonny Purdue).

Please take a minute or two to email call or fax and demand that ALL candidates be included in the reportings.

I have

met TMOT in person at the Paul Festival. I followed his Youtube videos during the 2012 Election. I am a Christian and I love how he stands his ground. He never flips and always keeps his word. Only problem I see here is Ron Paul endorsing some one else. Both shouldn't run, or we will lose. The question we have to ask is are they both in the same District?

Doesn't matter what district when voting for a US Senator.

Each State gets 2 Senators. You are thinking of the House of Representatives, not the Senate. Otherwise, I totally agree with your comment. +1

Oh Ok

So they both can run together?

IF both seats are up for election

at the same time, they could. That's a big IF.

I have read many comments

Many are probably correct in saying that Mr. Grayson doesn't have a huge chance in winning because he is not establishment, nor is he well known. I for one will vote for him in the primaries, and if he does not do well, then at least he will be getting known. Donate people, so he can afford to go to debates, campaign, and get his name out there. If he does not get into the finals this round, people will get to know him for future elections.
I don't think Mr. Grayson gives up easily, and would run again in the future. My own county commissioner is a good example of this. He did not win his first election either, but ran again and did win the second time and even won re-election. Others that ran and lost never re-ran but our current commissioner hung in there until he won.
TMOT is one tough cookie, and he is not clouded by fantasy, he will not tuck his tail and run in self pity if he loses. He will do it again and again until he wins. When he wins, we all win.
I don't have much money, but I donated what I could. Even if you only have 5 dollars left out of your paycheck....donate it.

If he doesn't win, I really

If he doesn't win, I really hope he tries again on a lower level election. Then he can run for higher office with greater chance of success.

I support him, but wouldn't

I support him, but wouldn't it be easier for him to run for a lower office first in order to build name recognition?

Something tells me he isnt the type

to make a decision based on whether its easy or difficult.

I think he has a very good chance here. It seems right to me.

Hell yes!!!

Go Derrick!!!!!!!!!

Truth is there are 3 great

Truth is there are 3 great Liberty candidates for the Georgia Senate seat. I got a chance to hang out with all of them at the GA GOP convention this past weekend. I got the impression TMOT was about to announce. I will probably end up supporting Paul Broun as he has the strongest voting record. Also, Karen Handel just announced too. I have not done enough research into her. From what I have heard however, she is similar to Broun without being a fanatic Christian.

Broun is suspect

He supports foreign aid and the war on terror, and all the intervention that goes with it. He admits his foreign policy is out of line with (dr Paul) the libertarian ideals.

He voted for an internet tax, and then flip flopped when CISPA becam hot button.

He sits on the Science committee and says evolution is a lie from the pit of hell and claims the earth is 9,000 years old.

He is religiously and socially narrow minded.

Not what I would call a Liberty candidate.

Handel is worse...less not get started on that.

But hey you vote for you who think is best for the cause.

Broun has been in D.C. for how long? Time for new ideas.

Wait a minute... Broun is

Wait a minute... Broun is already a Congressman??? No way we should support him... TMOT all the way..

Heck yeah

You know TMOT plays bass in a Hendrix tribute band?

The music on his campaign trail should be worth going to an event in itself!

Awesome News! If anyone

Awesome News! If anyone tailgates in Georgia, please put a big magnet for him on your car or something! That's a good start!

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. - Matthew 10:16

In order for this man to be

In order for this man to be successful, he is going to need grass roots support.

That means telling EVERYONE you know, following, and promoting his campaign. If you can't give financially, then make it up by helping out with a little of your time.

A smaller version of what was done for Dr. Paul basically. Show them that people can decide who will represent them, with out needing to raise millions to buy a political position.

Received via email from TMOT

Many of us have seen this before. If you were a Ron Paul supporter during the 2012 Presidential race you will be well aware of the tactics of the media- often bought and paid for, by the same bought and paid for politicians.

With one exception (CL Atlanta), the Georgia media and press have chosen to ignore yesterday's announcement, and have focused only on the establishment candidates (including a non-politician but wealthy cousin of former governor Sonny Purdue).

Please take a minute or two to email call or fax and demand that ALL candidates be included in the reporting.

Genuine question:

Genuine question:

is it legal for someone running for senate to receive financial help from out of state (of Georgia)?

Thanks,

TMOT did the right thing. You

TMOT did the right thing. You first have to become "known" in some form or fashion before you can attempt to run for office. If you try running without being known, you will win zero votes.

I know one thing. TMOT will

I know one thing. TMOT will not compromise AND having a strong outspoken passionate libertarian black man in the Republican party in the senate will do the party good.. It will adhere to Rand's vision of a broader party..

Go get them, TMOT!

Go get them, TMOT!

Go get them with your guns loaded with truth.

I love TMOT because he tells it like it is, and shares with me the same strong, total disgust for the welfare state and its factories to turn the people into ROTTEN beggars or pets.

And he just can't stand that.

Darn well he knows how that ugly beast and its deceptions work to destroy our morality. For he is a true Christian minister with only one supreme Lord. Ours. The same Lord as I have.

(Deal with it.)

TMOT for senate! Quick!

We need Ron and Rand's

We need Ron and Rand's endorsement...

Can't wait to see him in the debates... .

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

Ron Paul already endorsed

Ron Paul already endorsed Paul Broun. I wouldn't be surprised if Rand did as well.

Broun is a solid candidate, and he actually has a shot at winning. However, he might lose out to the establishment RINOs if TMOT sucks away enough votes.

Let's be realistic here. As much as I'd love to see TMOT telling it like it is in the Senate, he has no chance at a statewide office. He'd even have a very hard time in a Congressional election.
