Now that was awesome!
It really got heated. Cruz, Mike Lee, and Rubio, all spoke out against the budget's inclusion of a debt-ceiling hike. (I guess Rand was out campaigning)
They literally reduced McCain and McClaskill to mere school ground bullies.
The debate is the first half.

I both enjoyed that and hated it. It was worth watching.

doesn mdcain and his ilk realize they are the reason we have obama in office and 55 democratic senators?

My Open Letter To Senator Ted Cruz, 5/23/2013
My name is pronounced like "see real". I code stuff for a living and for pleasure. I care quite a bit about language.
I think America should consider doing the same, and... ASAP!
What has Ted Cruz said he is willing to cut to seriously reduce the national debt? Aid to Israel? "Support" for Israel should it decide to attack Iran? Medicare? Medicaid? Pentagon spending? For once, I wish these Tea Party types would tell us what they favor cutting. Based on the lack of specificity of many Tea Party members, it is easy for me to understand why many assume Tea Party members hate Obama simply cause he is Black and has a Muslim sounding last name.
Typical non-response. Senator Cruz also stated that he doesn't trust Republicans with the debt ceiling as well. Does that mean he hates old white men?
"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
I'm not so quick to attack Cruz, but your point is quite valid that there may be a reason the Tea Party gets such a bad rap.
It's not like it has remained a formidable force for spending reduction. OKC Tea Party meeting I went to tonight focused on religious liberty and the religious aspect of the country's founding.
To me, the TEA party is supposed to be the Taxed Enough Already party.

They aren't perfect, but at least the Tea Party folks get some things right. Better than what we usually get out of that place.
The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. - Heinlein
love it when someone in his position cuts through the bs and calls it like it is. would love to have seen the esteemed senior senator from Arizona's face during this.
BUMP. Thank you for pointing this out now.
I wonder how senator Ted Cruz would comment on my today's manifesto:
The American People Can Start A New Revolution; Here's What Was The First Nail In The Coffin Of The Constitution
I think I'm just going to go ahead and ask him, directly.
If anyone happens to know him, I'd be glad to get in touch.
(I have no doubts I'll be only preaching to the choir with Dr. Ron Paul; it's time we reach out with this argument broader, I think)
For the republic.
Senator Cruz took the stand on VERY serious matters once again, he well deserves our support and feedback, IMO.
If only for the record.
That sounded really good Mr. Cruz. One question though... How does voting to back Israel militarily in an attack on Iran showing your constituents that you are serious about cutting our debt? Sounds like you are one of those republicans you mentioned that wants to go on record as wanting to cut spending but then votes for things that do the opposite. I`ll be waiting for your typical lawyer response...
Good point. Ron Paul-like consistency eludes the best of these folks. However, it's nice to hear someone cut through the procedural BS from time to time. Does it mean anything? Time will tell, I guess. Not optimistic, though.
It would be great to see a few more liberty-minded Republican senators step up and take on the RINOs on the debt ceiling issue. Good job Sen. Cruz.
I refuse to celebrate and elevate Cruz till he actually agrees to cut things that really drive the debt, like wars for Israel.
