Why I Say No To Amnesty. Illegal Aliens Get Better Government Care While War Veteran’s Needs Are Ignored.

It is a national disgrace that are veterans are ignored by our government. Many returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan are in need of follow up care for injuries sustained in combat. Obama’s sequester cuts have further defunded the VA. That means more war veterans who were wounded in combat will not get the care they need. Many will die waiting for approval from the VA. Many Veterans are homeless in need of mental health treatment.

On the other hand, the Illegal Aliens have the red carpet rolled out to them to come here and get welfare benefits. The US government pays for advertising in Mexico to encourage people to come here to go on Food Stamps and other government handouts. Illegal Alien Children get open heart surgeries and organ transplants at tax payers expense while Veterans who answered the call to defend liberty are kicked to the curb and treated like second class people by our Government. Many Iraq and Afghanistan veteran are living on the streets while Illegal Aliens get section 8 and other housing assistance.

if have read a ton from Dr. Paul

and he is not a libertarian, he's a constitutionalist.

I could give a damn about dipstick open borders and globalism as the Libertarians do, I am a US Citizen, it's my country, I'm not a citizen of the world. This libertarian utopia pie in the sky idealism is silly.

Paul follows the Constitution, within the Constitution is a lot of Libertarian ideas, it's that simple

Well Vet benifits are not an entitlement.

I am talking about how the US government is willing to subsidize the illegal aliens with goodies from the tax payer's purse. That money spend on Illegal aliens should be spent on caring for our US veteran the government under contract is supposed to do for the veterans. There is nothing in the Constitution saying we have to pay for illegal aliens. But our veterans our government is failing miserably intentionally which is a national disgrace. Veterans benefits is not a subsidy. The welfare state rewarding illegal behavior is.

Yes they are.

This is coming from a vet, yes they fall under the same category as food stamps and all that jazz.

The US Military is voluntary, so if you volunteered you take the consequences of your actions.

Now I am not saying PEOPLE shouldn't try to help injured (truly injured, not the hacks that come into the VA and collect 40% with no real injuries, which happens), but the government shouldn't be forced to subsidize them.

There is no difference between the claim "Americans SHOULD care for the vets because they defend this great country!" and the claim " Americans SHOULD care for their population by giving the poor food stamps!".

If you hate subsidy you hate subsidy. You don't get to pick and choose which subsidy you like best!

yeah well..

I know of many ex and retired soldiers who weren't voluntary and could use some decent medical care.. they were drafted.

and who cares if they weren't; they signed a contract and it should be fulfilled on both sides.

and does that contract include healthcare.. I get that in a perfect world there would be no war, wounded soldiers or veterans but since this isn't a perfect world and there are soldiers and vets in need of decent healthcare I am for giving it to them... and that should come BEFORE healthcare and other benefits given to people coming here from other countries.

I was agreeing with you

they both agreed to fulfill a contract, one to serve and one to take care of the others commitments and future health concerns related to that service.

That's how i see it anyway. Contract law must be upheld.

I agree the VA system is broken.

I have been going to the VA for years. My father suffers from PST from Vietnam. He is a great father and successful business man on his meds. He is a violent, unreasonable and manic person off of his meds. The VA buildings always have construction going on but never enough doctors. The last time my father needed his medication renewed it was over 4 months before he could get in to see a doctor. He was out of medication for about two weeks at this time. I could give 20 other examples of inadequacy in the VA. The crazy thing is they tell him to walk into the emergency room if he can't get an appointment. Just walk into the ER like a Mexican one receptionist told him. Like that is the good solution. The mexican problem and the VA problem are separate and should be looked on as such. I will always put myself in the illegals shoes and I would walk across that boarder for a chance at better life for my family so I can't fault them. Crossing the boarder illegally is an act of civil disobedience.

Because 2 Wrongs Make a Right - NOT

I refuse to be manipulated by xenophobes and authoritarians into taking their side instead of taking the side of people seeking freedom as long as the former are using force and threats of violence and the latter are minding their own business.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Right on. How disgraceful.

One of my beefs with illegal immigration, amnesty, etc.:

Favoritism is not cool.

One group (Mexicans) receives favoritism simply because of their proximity to our country and the ease by which they pass through our borders. And they stomp up an down the streets from time to time, demanding citizenship. Unreal! What other groups behave nowadays in such spoiled, entitled, dishonorable, and childish fashion?

Plus, the bilingual (only) signage is wack. All official signage should be in English only, or else it should include EVERY SINGLE LANGUAGE SPOKEN BY ANYONE IN THIS COUNTRY. It's all or nothing, folks. No more favoritism!

There is an equality issue here people seem to wish to ignore... surprise surprise.

(Not that it matters either way, but I have Mexican friends who agree with this, too, as unbelievable as that may sound... because they are just and righteous people.)

What would the Founders do?

living in california

I have many Hispanic friends who agree with that and more.

Beliefs aside

This horrific treatment of our veterans was and still is my answer as to whether anyone should join the military or not.

On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and complete narcissistic moron.

If they don't join

They'll just start recruiting from abroad. Sad our vets have to get on TV and beg for money by showing their stumps to get some help. I don't mean to sound cold; that's exactly what they do. Not really a secret. They should be espousing the message to not go to war in the first place and use themselves as an example of why.

This is the sad state of our gov't today...

Representation is a term long forgotten in Washington.

The two party system NO LONGER represents it's citizens.

They serve themselves at our expense.

Time for a do over.
